2020-06-09mm: reorder includes after introduction of linux/pgtable.hMike Rapoport
The replacement of <asm/pgrable.h> with <linux/pgtable.h> made the include of the latter in the middle of asm includes. Fix this up with the aid of the below script and manual adjustments here and there. import sys import re if len(sys.argv) is not 3: print "USAGE: %s <file> <header>" % (sys.argv[0]) sys.exit(1) hdr_to_move="#include <linux/%s>" % sys.argv[2] moved = False in_hdrs = False with open(sys.argv[1], "r") as f: lines = f.readlines() for _line in lines: line = _line.rstrip(' ') if line == hdr_to_move: continue if line.startswith("#include <linux/"): in_hdrs = True elif not moved and in_hdrs: moved = True print hdr_to_move print line Signed-off-by: Mike Rapoport <rppt@linux.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Cc: Borislav Petkov <bp@alien8.de> Cc: Brian Cain <bcain@codeaurora.org> Cc: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> Cc: Chris Zankel <chris@zankel.net> Cc: "David S. 2020-06-09mm: introduce include/linux/pgtable.hMike Rapoport
The include/linux/pgtable.h is going to be the home of generic page table manipulation functions. Start with moving asm-generic/pgtable.h to include/linux/pgtable.h and make the latter include asm/pgtable.h. 2019-05-21treewide: Add SPDX license identifier for missed filesThomas Gleixner
Add SPDX license identifiers to all files which: - Have no license information of any form - Have EXPORT_.*_SYMBOL_GPL inside which was used in the initial scan/conversion to ignore the file These files fall under the project license, GPL v2 only. The resulting SPDX license identifier is: GPL-2.0-only Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2018-11-26powerpc: Use device_type helpers to access the node typeRob Herring
Remove directly accessing device_node.type pointer and use the accessors instead. This will eventually allow removing the type pointer. Replace the open coded iterating over child nodes with for_each_child_of_node() while we're here. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>

2011-10-31powerpc: various straight conversions from module.h --> export.hPaul Gortmaker
All these files were including module.h just for the basic EXPORT_SYMBOL infrastructure. We can shift them off to the export.h header which is a way smaller footprint and thus realize some compile time gains. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
2011-05-04powerpc: Convert old cpumask API into new oneKOSAKI Motohiro

2007-12-20[POWERPC] cell/cbe_regs.c: Add missing of_node_putJulia Lawall
There should be an of_node_put when breaking out of a loop that iterates using for_each_node_by_type. This was detected and fixed using the following semantic patch. (http://www.emn.fr/x-info/coccinelle/) // <smpl> @@ identifier d; type T; expression e; iterator for_each_node_by_type; @@ T *d; ... for_each_node_by_type(d,...) {... when != of_node_put(d) when != e = d ( return d; | + of_node_put(d); ? return ...; ) ...} // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Cc: Christian Krafft <krafft@de.ibm.com> Cc: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Cc: David Erb <djerb@us.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

2007-10-09[POWERPC] cell: Move cbe_regs.h to include/asm-powerpc/cell-regs.hBenjamin Herrenschmidt
The new Cell EDAC driver needs that file, oprofile also does ugly path tricks to get to it, it's time to move it to asm-powerpc. While at it, rename it to be consistent with cell-pmu.h (and dashes look nicer than underscores anyway). 2007-07-20[CELL] allow linux to map Cell regs on legacy SLOF tree.Jean-Christophe DUBOIS
The platforms missing the "cpus" property in the "be" node are mono-Cell platforms such as CAB or Getaway. Therefore it is possible to assume that if there is no "cpus" properties under the "be" node then we can safely return the "device node" without more checking. This is a bit hacky but ... it allows it to work on these platforms. 2007-04-23[POWERPC] cell: add support for proper device-treeChristian Krafft

2006-12-04[POWERPC] cell: Add oprofile supportMaynard Johnson
Add PPU event-based and cycle-based profiling support to Oprofile for Cell. Oprofile is expected to collect data on all CPUs simultaneously. However, there is one set of performance counters per node. There are two hardware threads or virtual CPUs on each node. Hence, OProfile must multiplex in time the performance counter collection on the two virtual CPUs. The multiplexing of the performance counters is done by a virtual counter routine. Initially, the counters are configured to collect data on the even CPUs in the system, one CPU per node. In order to capture the PC for the virtual CPU when the performance counter interrupt occurs (the specified number of events between samples has occurred), the even processors are configured to handle the performance counter interrupts for their node. The virtual counter routine is called via a kernel timer after the virtual sample time. The routine stops the counters, saves the current counts, loads the last counts for the other virtual CPU on the node, sets interrupts to be handled by the other virtual CPU and restarts the counters, the virtual timer routine is scheduled to run again. The virtual sample time is kept relatively small to make sure sampling occurs on both CPUs on the node with a relatively small granularity. Whenever the counters overflow, the performance counter interrupt is called to collect the PC for the CPU where data is being collected. The oprofile driver relies on a firmware RTAS call to setup the debug bus to route the desired signals to the performance counter hardware to be counted. The RTAS call must set the routing registers appropriately in each of the islands to pass the signals down the debug bus as well as routing the signals from a particular island onto the bus. There is a second firmware RTAS call to reset the debug bus to the non pass thru state when the counters are not in use. 2006-10-25[POWERPC] cell: add shadow registers for pmd_regKevin Corry
Many of the registers in the performance monitoring unit are write-only. We need to save a "shadow" copy when we write to those registers so we can retrieve the values if we need them later. The new cbe_pmd_shadow_regs structure is added to the cbe_regs_map structure so we have the appropriate per-node copies of these shadow values. 2006-06-21[POWERPC] cell: add RAS supportBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This is a first version of support for the Cell BE "Reliability, Availability and Serviceability" features. It doesn't yet handle some of the RAS interrupts (the ones described in iic_is/iic_irr), I'm still working on a proper way to expose these. They are essentially a cascaded controller by themselves (sic !) though I may just handle them locally to the iic driver. I need also to sync with David Erb on the way he hooked in the performance monitor interrupt. So that's all for 2.6.17 and I'll do more work on that with my rework of the powerpc interrupt layer that I'm hacking on at the moment.
