2021-06-16media: driver-api: drivers: avoid using ReST :doc:`foo` markupMauro Carvalho Chehab
The :doc:`foo` tag is auto-generated via automarkup.py. So, use the filename at the sources, instead of :doc:`foo`. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2021-06-02docs: driver-api: media: zoran: replace SOFT HYPHEN characterMauro Carvalho Chehab
Replace the occurences of the following character: - U+00ad (''): SOFT HYPHEN as ASCII HYPHEN is preferred over SOFT HYPHEN At least with some fonts, a SOFT HYPHEN is displayed as a blank space. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2021-06-02media: Documentation: ccs: Fix the op_pll_multiplier addressBernhard Wimmer
According to the CCS spec the op_pll_multiplier address is 0x030e, not 0x031e. Signed-off-by: Bernhard Wimmer <be.wimm@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>

2020-12-03media: Documentation: ccs: Reorder SPDX and copyright notice linesSakari Ailus
Move the SPDX tag to the top, placing the copyright notice after that. This aligns the file with existing practices. Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-12-03media: Documentation: ccs: Rename ccs-regs.txt as ccs-regs.ascSakari Ailus
As documentation used to be in .txt files before converting to ReST, rename ccs-regs.txt to avoid it being taken as documentation that pre-dates ReST conversion and so target for further conversion to ReST. Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-12-02media: Documentation: ccs: Add CCS driver documentationSakari Ailus
Document the MIPI CCS driver and the C register definition generator. Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-12-02media: ccs: Add the generator for CCS register definitions and limitsSakari Ailus
Add register definitions of the MIPI CCS 1.1 standard. The CCS driver makes extended use of device's capability registers that are dependent on CCS version. This involves having an in-memory data structure for limit and capability information, creating that data structure and accessing it. The register definitions as well as the definitions of this data structure are generated from a text file using a Perl script. Add the generator script to make it easy to update the generated files. 2020-11-26media: vidtv: psi: Implement an Event Information Table (EIT)Daniel W. S. Almeida
Implement an Event Information Table (EIT) as per EN 300 468 5.2.4. The EIT provides information in chronological order regarding the events contained within each service. For now only present event information is supported. [mchehab+huawei@kernel.org: removed an extra blank line] Signed-off-by: Daniel W. S. 2020-11-26media: vidtv: psi: add a Network Information Table (NIT)Daniel W. S. Almeida
Add a Network Information Table (NIT) as specified in ETSI EN 300 468. This table conveys information relating to the physical organization of the multiplexes carried via a given network and the characteristics of the network itself. It is conveyed in the output of vidtv as packets with TS PID of 0x0010 [mchehab+huawei@kernel.org: removed an extra blank line] Signed-off-by: Daniel W. S. 2020-10-04media: zoran.rst: place it at the right place this timeMauro Carvalho Chehab
I was too quick moving zoran.rst... it ends that the original patch didn't do the right thing and forgot to update the files that references it. Fix it. Fixes: 6b90346919d4 ("media: zoran: move documentation file to the right place") Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-10-02media: zoran: move documentation file to the right placeMauro Carvalho Chehab
The zoran revert patch misplaced the Zoran doc file. Move it to the right place. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-09-17media: vidtv.rst: update it to better describe the frequenciesMauro Carvalho Chehab
The virtual driver has now a minimal set of frequencies for a single transponder to be found by each DVB standard. Document it, and update related information about the simulated LNBf. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-09-14media: vidtv: add modaliases for the bridge driverMauro Carvalho Chehab
As this virtual driver is probed manually, add modaliases for this driver. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>

2020-07-19media: docs: pvrusb2: replace http references with https onesAlexander A. Klimov
PVRUSB2 VIDEO4LINUX DRIVER: Replace HTTP links with HTTPS ones Rationale: Reduces attack surface on kernel devs opening the links for MITM as HTTPS traffic is much harder to manipulate. Deterministic algorithm: For each file: If not .svg: For each line: If doesn't contain `\bxmlns\b`: If neither `\bgnu\.org/license`, nor `\bmozilla\.org/MPL\b`: If both the HTTP and HTTPS versions return 200 OK and serve the same content: Replace HTTP with HTTPS. 2020-07-04media: samsung: Rename Samsung and Exynos to lowercaseKrzysztof Kozlowski
Fix up inconsistent usage of upper and lowercase letters in "Samsung" and "Exynos" names. "SAMSUNG" and "EXYNOS" are not abbreviations but regular trademarked names. Therefore they should be written with lowercase letters starting with capital letter. The lowercase "Exynos" name is promoted by its manufacturer Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., in advertisement materials and on website. Although advertisement materials usually use uppercase "SAMSUNG", the lowercase version is used in all legal aspects (e.g. on Wikipedia and in privacy/legal statements on https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/privacy-global/). 2020-04-16media: media/test_drivers: rename to test-driversHans Verkuil
We never use _ in directory names in the media subsystem, so rename to test-drivers instead for consistency. Also update MAINTAINERS with the new path. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-04-15media: docs: cleanup bttv-devel.rst fileMauro Carvalho Chehab
This file was converted from text at the early ReST days. We learnt a lot about how to produce a nicer result while keeping the file better readable as plain text. Change some ReST markups to make it look better, both at the output formats and as plain text file. While here, remove references for the old bt848/winutil tool, as it seems that it doesn't exist anymore. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-04-15media: docs: Add a master topic for the index fileMauro Carvalho Chehab
Right now, both V4L and Digital TV are shown as main titles. Instead, add a main title, in order to better display its output. While here, simplify the file, as we don't need to add a title for the indexes, nor we need copyright info, as everything there is GPL, as stated by the SPDX tags. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-04-14media: docs: fix some broken referencesMauro Carvalho Chehab
Some media files got moved. Update the corresponding references to the referenced files. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab+huawei@kernel.org>
2020-04-14media: docs: move driver-specific info to driver-apiMauro Carvalho Chehab
Those documents don't really describe the driver API. Instead, they contain development-specific information. Yet, as the main index file describes the content of it as: "how specific kernel subsystems work from the point of view of a kernel developer" It seems to be the better fit.
