2019-03-26doc: Remove obsolete RCU update functions from RCU documentationPaul E. McKenney
Now that synchronize_rcu_bh, synchronize_rcu_bh_expedited, call_rcu_bh, rcu_barrier_bh, synchronize_sched, synchronize_sched_expedited, call_rcu_sched, rcu_barrier_sched, get_state_synchronize_sched, and cond_synchronize_sched are obsolete, let's remove them from the documentation aside from a small historical section. 2011-09-28rcu: Fix RCU's NMI documentationPaul E. McKenney
It has long been the case that the architecture must call nmi_enter() and nmi_exit() rather than irq_enter() and irq_exit() in order to permit RCU read-side critical sections in NMIs. Catch the documentation up with reality. Signed-off-by: Paul E. McKenney <paulmck@linux.vnet.ibm.com> Acked-by: Mathieu Desnoyers <mathieu.desnoyers@efficios.com>

2005-09-07[PATCH] NMI: Update NMI users of RCU to use new APIPaul E. McKenney
Uses of RCU for dynamically changeable NMI handlers need to use the new rcu_dereference() and rcu_assign_pointer() facilities. This change makes it clear that these uses are safe from a memory-barrier viewpoint, but the main purpose is to document exactly what operations are being protected by RCU. This has been tested on x86 and x86-64, which are the only architectures affected by this change.
