2020-06-25sctp: Don't advertise IPv4 addresses if ipv6only is set on the socketMarcelo Ricardo Leitner
If a socket is set ipv6only, it will still send IPv4 addresses in the INIT and INIT_ACK packets. This potentially misleads the peer into using them, which then would cause association termination. The fix is to not add IPv4 addresses to ipv6only sockets. 2018-11-12sctp: add sock_reuseport for the sock in __sctp_hash_endpointXin Long
This is a part of sk_reuseport support for sctp. It defines a helper sctp_bind_addrs_check() to check if the bind_addrs in two socks are matched. It will add sock_reuseport if they are completely matched, and return err if they are partly matched, and alloc sock_reuseport if all socks are not matched at all. It will work until sk_reuseport support is added in sctp_get_port_local() in the next patch. v1->v2: - use 'laddr->valid && laddr2->valid' check instead as Marcelo pointed in sctp_bind_addrs_check(). 2016-12-20sctp: not copying duplicate addrs to the assoc's bind address listXin Long
sctp.local_addr_list is a global address list that is supposed to include all the local addresses. sctp updates this list according to NETDEV_UP/ NETDEV_DOWN notifications. However, if multiple NICs have the same address, the global list would have duplicate addresses. Even if for one NIC, promote secondaries in __inet_del_ifa can also lead to accumulating duplicate addresses. When sctp binds address 'ANY' and creates a connection, it copies all the addresses from global list into asoc's bind addr list, which makes sctp pack the duplicate addresses into INIT/INIT_ACK packets. This patch is to filter the duplicate addresses when copying the addrs from global list in sctp_copy_local_addr_list and unpacking addr_param from cookie in sctp_raw_to_bind_addrs to asoc's bind addr list. Note that we can't filter the duplicate addrs when global address list gets updated, As NETDEV_DOWN event may remove an addr that still exists in another NIC. 2016-03-08sctp: fix copying more bytes than expected in sctp_add_bind_addrMarcelo Ricardo Leitner
Dmitry reported that sctp_add_bind_addr may read more bytes than expected in case the parameter is a IPv4 addr supplied by the user through calls such as sctp_bindx_add(), because it always copies sizeof(union sctp_addr) while the buffer may be just a struct sockaddr_in, which is smaller. This patch then fixes it by limiting the memcpy to the min between the union size and a (new parameter) provided addr size. Where possible this parameter still is the size of that union, except for reading from user-provided buffers, which then it accounts for protocol type. 2011-05-19SCTP: fix race between sctp_bind_addr_free() and sctp_bind_addr_conflict()Jacek Luczak
During the sctp_close() call, we do not use rcu primitives to destroy the address list attached to the endpoint. At the same time, we do the removal of addresses from this list before attempting to remove the socket from the port hash As a result, it is possible for another process to find the socket in the port hash that is in the process of being closed. It then proceeds to traverse the address list to find the conflict, only to have that address list suddenly disappear without rcu() critical section. Fix issue by closing address list removal inside RCU critical section. 2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. 2009-09-04sctp: Sysctl configuration for IPv4 Address ScopingBhaskar Dutta
This patch introduces a new sysctl option to make IPv4 Address Scoping configurable <draft-stewart-tsvwg-sctp-ipv4-00.txt>. In networking environments where DNAT rules in iptables prerouting chains convert destination IP's to link-local/private IP addresses, SCTP connections fail to establish as the INIT chunk is dropped by the kernel due to address scope match failure. For example to support overlapping IP addresses (same IP address with different vlan id) a Layer-5 application listens on link local IP's, and there is a DNAT rule that maps the destination IP to a link local IP. Such applications never get the SCTP INIT if the address-scoping draft is strictly followed. This sysctl configuration allows SCTP to function in such unconventional networking environments. Sysctl options: 0 - Disable IPv4 address scoping draft altogether 1 - Enable IPv4 address scoping (default, current behavior) 2 - Enable address scoping but allow IPv4 private addresses in init/init-ack 3 - Enable address scoping but allow IPv4 link local address in init/init-ack Signed-off-by: Bhaskar Dutta <bhaskar.dutta@globallogic.com> Signed-off-by: Vlad Yasevich <vladislav.yasevich@hp.com>

2007-09-16[SCTP]: Convert bind_addr_list locking to RCUVlad Yasevich
Since the sctp_sockaddr_entry is now RCU enabled as part of the patch to synchronize sctp_localaddr_list, it makes sense to change all handling of these entries to RCU. This includes the sctp_bind_addrs structure and it's list of bound addresses. This list is currently protected by an external rw_lock and that looks like an overkill. There are only 2 writers to the list: bind()/bindx() calls, and BH processing of ASCONF-ACK chunks. These are already seriealized via the socket lock, so they will not step on each other. These are also relatively rare, so we should be good with RCU. The readers are varied and they are easily converted to RCU. Signed-off-by: Vlad Yasevich <vladislav.yasevich@hp.com> Acked-by: Paul E. 2007-02-14[PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau
After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). ... switched to taking and returning pointers to net-endian sctp_addr resp. Together, since the only user of sctp_find_unmatch_addr() just passes its value to sctp_make_asconf_update_ip(). sctp_make_asconf_update_ip() is actually endian-agnostic. 2006-12-02[SCTP]: Beginning of conversion to net-endian for embedded sctp_addr.Al Viro
Part 1: rename sctp_chunk->source, sctp_sockaddr_entry->a, sctp_transport->ipaddr and sctp_transport->saddr (to ..._h) The next patch will reintroduce these fields and keep them as net-endian mirrors of the original (renamed) ones. Split in two patches to make sure that we hadn't forgotten any instanes. Later in the series we'll eliminate uses of host-endian variants (basically switching users to net-endian counterparts as we progress through that mess). Then host-endian ones will die. Other embedded host-endian sctp_addr will be easier to switch directly, so we leave them alone for now. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: David S.
