2016-01-04Bluetooth: hci_bcm: move all Broadcom ACPI IDs to BCM HCI driverHeikki Krogerus
The IDs should all be for Broadcom BCM43241 module, and hci_bcm is now the proper driver for them. This removes one of two different ways of handling PM with the module. 2015-12-10rfkill: copy the name into the rfkill structJohannes Berg
Some users of rfkill, like NFC and cfg80211, use a dynamic name when allocating rfkill, in those cases dev_name(). Therefore, the pointer passed to rfkill_alloc() might not be valid forever, I specifically found the case that the rfkill name was quite obviously an invalid pointer (or at least garbage) when the wiphy had been renamed. Fix this by making a copy of the rfkill name in rfkill_alloc(). Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2015-08-13rfkill: Allow compile test of GPIO consumers if !GPIOLIBGeert Uytterhoeven
The GPIO subsystem provides dummy GPIO consumer functions if GPIOLIB is not enabled. 2015-05-29net: rfkill: gpio: make better use of gpiod APIUwe Kleine-König
Since 39b2bbe3d715 (gpio: add flags argument to gpiod_get*() functions) which appeared in v3.17-rc1, the gpiod_get* functions take an additional parameter that allows to specify direction and initial value for output. Furthermore there is devm_gpiod_get_optional which is designed to get optional gpios. Simplify driver accordingly. Note this makes error checking more strict because only -ENOENT is ignored when searching for the GPIOs which is good. 2014-11-04net: rfkill: gpio: Add default GPIO driver mappings for ACPIMika Westerberg
The driver uses devm_gpiod_get_index(..., index) so that the index refers directly to the GpioIo resource under the ACPI device. The problem with this is that if the ordering changes we get wrong GPIOs. With ACPI 5.1 _DSD we can now use names instead to reference GPIOs analogous to Device Tree. However, we still have systems out there that do not provide _DSD at all. These systems must be supported as well. Luckily we now have acpi_dev_add_driver_gpios() that can be used to provide mappings for systems where _DSD is not provided and still take advantage of _DSD if it exists. This patch changes the driver to create default GPIO mappings if we are running on ACPI system. While there we can drop the indices completely and use devm_gpiod_get() with name instead. 2014-02-04net: rfkill: move poll work to power efficient workqueueShaibal Dutta
This patch moves the rfkill poll_work to the power efficient workqueue. This work does not have to be bound to the CPU that scheduled it, hence the selection of CPU that executes it would be left to the scheduler. Net result is that CPU idle times would be extended, resulting in power savings. This behaviour is enabled when CONFIG_WQ_POWER_EFFICIENT is selected. Cc: "John W. From Eric Dumazet. 10) Use up to 32K for page fragment allocations, with fallbacks to smaller sizes when higher order page allocations fail. Benefits are a) less segments for driver to process b) less calls to page allocator c) less waste of space. From Eric Dumazet. 11) Allow GRO to be used on GRE tunnels, from Eric Dumazet. 12) VXLAN device driver, one way to handle VLAN issues such as the limitation of 4096 VLAN IDs yet still have some level of isolation. From Stephen Hemminger. 13) As usual there is a large boatload of driver changes, with the scale perhaps tilted towards the wireless side this time around. Fix up various fairly trivial conflicts, mostly caused by the user namespace changes. * git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next: (1012 commits) hyperv: Add buffer for extended info after the RNDIS response message. hyperv: Report actual status in receive completion packet hyperv: Remove extra allocated space for recv_pkt_list elements hyperv: Fix page buffer handling in rndis_filter_send_request() hyperv: Fix the missing return value in rndis_filter_set_packet_filter() hyperv: Fix the max_xfer_size in RNDIS initialization vxlan: put UDP socket in correct namespace vxlan: Depend on CONFIG_INET sfc: Fix the reported priorities of different filter types sfc: Remove EFX_FILTER_FLAG_RX_OVERRIDE_IP sfc: Fix loopback self-test with separate_tx_channels=1 sfc: Fix MCDI structure field lookup sfc: Add parentheses around use of bitfield macro arguments sfc: Fix null function pointer in efx_sriov_channel_type vxlan: virtual extensible lan igmp: export symbol ip_mc_leave_group netlink: add attributes to fdb interface tg3: unconditionally select HWMON support when tg3 is enabled. 2012-09-24rfkill: prevent unnecessary event generationVitaly Wool
Prevent unnecessary rfkill event generation when the state has not actually changed. These events have to be delivered to relevant userspace processes, causing these processes to wake up and do something while they could as well have slept. This obviously results in more CPU usage, longer time-to-sleep-again and therefore higher power consumption. 2012-08-21Revert "rfkill: remove dead code"AceLan Kao
This reverts commit 2e48928d8a0f38c1b5c81eb3f1294de8a6382c68. Those functions are needed and should not be removed, or there is no way to set the rfkill led trigger name. Signed-off-by: AceLan Kao <acelan.kao@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2012-08-13workqueue: use mod_delayed_work() instead of cancel + queueTejun Heo
Convert delayed_work users doing cancel_delayed_work() followed by queue_delayed_work() to mod_delayed_work(). Most conversions are straight-forward. Ones worth mentioning are, * drivers/edac/edac_mc.c: edac_mc_workq_setup() converted to always use mod_delayed_work() and cancel loop in edac_mc_reset_delay_period() is dropped. * drivers/platform/x86/thinkpad_acpi.c: No need to remember whether watchdog is active or not. @fan_watchdog_active and related code dropped. * drivers/power/charger-manager.c: Seemingly a lot of delayed_work_pending() abuse going on here. [delayed_]work_pending() are unsynchronized and racy when used like this. I converted one instance in fullbatt_handler(). Please conver the rest so that it invokes workqueue APIs for the intended target state rather than trying to game work item pending state transitions. e.g. if timer should be modified - call mod_delayed_work(), canceled - call cancel_delayed_work[_sync](). * drivers/thermal/thermal_sys.c: thermal_zone_device_set_polling() simplified. Note that round_jiffies() calls in this function are meaningless. round_jiffies() work on absolute jiffies not delta delay used by delayed_work. v2: Tomi pointed out that __cancel_delayed_work() users can't be safely converted to mod_delayed_work(). They could be calling it from irq context and if that happens while delayed_work_timer_fn() is running, it could deadlock. __cancel_delayed_work() users are dropped. 2012-06-06rfkill: Add the capability to switch all devices of all type in ↵Alex Hung
__rfkill_switch_all(). __rfkill_switch_all() switches the state of devices of a given type; however, it does not switch devices of all type (RFKILL_TYPE_ALL). As a result, it ignores the keycode "KEY_RFKILL" from another module, i.e. eeepc-wmi. This fix is to make __rfkill_switch_all() to be able to switch not only devices of a given type but also all devices. Signed-off-by: Alex Hung <alex.hung@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: John W. 2012-03-11device.h: cleanup users outside of linux/include (C files)Paul Gortmaker
For files that are actively using linux/device.h, make sure that they call it out. This will allow us to clean up some of the implicit uses of linux/device.h within include/* without introducing build regressions. Yes, this was created by "cheating" -- i.e. the headers were cleaned up, and then the fallout was found and fixed, and then the two commits were reordered. This ensures we don't introduce build regressions into the git history. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
