Commit cfd280c91253 ("net: sync some IP headers with glibc") changed a set of
define's to an enum (with no explanation why) which introduced a bug
in module mip6 where aliases are generated using the IPPROTO_* defines;
mip6 doesn't load if require_module called with the aliases from
xfrm_get_type().
Reverting this change back to define's to fix the aliases.

We may lost race if we flush the rule-set (which happens asynchronously
via call_rcu) and we try to remove the table (that userspace assumes
to be empty).
Fix this by recovering synchronous rule and chain deletion. This was
introduced time ago before we had no batch support, and synchronous
rule deletion performance was not good. Now that we have the batch
support, we can just postpone the purge of old rule in a second step
in the commit phase. All object deletions are synchronous after this
patch.
As a side effect, we save memory as we don't need rcu_head per rule
anymore.

Currently the nft_reject module depends on symbols from ipv6. This is
wrong since no generic module should force IPv6 support to be loaded.
Split up the module into AF-specific and a generic part.

For the reject module, we need to add AF-specific implementations to
get rid of incorrect module dependencies. Try to load an AF-specific
module first and fall back to generic modules.

With this patch, the conntrack refcount is initially set to zero and
it is bumped once it is added to any of the list, so we fulfill
Eric's golden rule which is that all released objects always have a
refcount that equals zero.
Andrey Vagin reports that nf_conntrack_free can't be called for a
conntrack with non-zero ref-counter, because it can race with
nf_conntrack_find_get().
A conntrack slab is created with SLAB_DESTROY_BY_RCU. Non-zero
ref-counter says that this conntrack is used. So when we release
a conntrack with non-zero counter, we break this assumption.

MII management bus clock is derived from the MAC clock by dividing it by
MIIMODER register CLKDIV field value. This value may need to be set up
in case it is undefined or its default value is too high (and
communication with PHY is too slow) or too low (and communication with
PHY is impossible). The value of CLKDIV is not specified directly, but
is derived from the MAC clock for the default MII management bus frequency
of 2.5MHz. The MAC clock may be specified in the platform data, or in
the 'clocks' device tree attribute.

Self generated skbuffs in net/can/bcm.c are setting a skb->sk reference but
no explicit destructor which is enforced since Linux 3.11 with commit
376c7311bdb6 (net: add a temporary sanity check in skb_orphan()).
This patch adds some helper functions to make sure that a destructor is
properly defined when a sock reference is assigned to a CAN related skb.
To create an unshared skb owned by the original sock a common helper function
has been introduced to replace open coded functions to create CAN echo skbs.

Commit d5dc77bfeeab ("consolidate compat lookup_dcookie()") coverted all
architectures to the new compat_sys_lookup_dcookie() syscall.
The "len" paramater of the new compat syscall must have the type
compat_size_t in order to enforce zero extension for architectures where
the ABI requires that the caller of a function performed zero and/or
sign extension to 64 bit of all parameters.

We got a report that the pwritev syscall does not work correctly in
compat mode on s390.
It turned out that with commit 72ec35163f9f ("switch compat readv/writev
variants to COMPAT_SYSCALL_DEFINE") we lost the zero extension of a
couple of syscall parameters because the some parameter types haven't
been converted from unsigned long to compat_ulong_t.
This is needed for architectures where the ABI requires that the caller
of a function performed zero and/or sign extension to 64 bit of all
parameters.

The VM is currently heavily tuned to avoid swapping. Whether that is
good or bad is a separate discussion, but as long as the VM won't swap
to make room for dirty cache, we can not consider anonymous pages when
calculating the amount of dirtyable memory, the baseline to which
dirty_background_ratio and dirty_ratio are applied.
A simple workload that occupies a significant size (40+%, depending on
memory layout, storage speeds etc.) of memory with anon/tmpfs pages and
uses the remainder for a streaming writer demonstrates this problem. In
that case, the actual cache pages are a small fraction of what is
considered dirtyable overall, which results in an relatively large
portion of the cache pages to be dirtied. As kswapd starts rotating
these, random tasks enter direct reclaim and stall on IO.
Only consider free pages and file pages dirtyable.

The event returned from fsnotify_add_notify_event() cannot ever be used
safely as the event may be freed by the time the function returns (after
dropping notification_mutex). So change the prototype to just return
whether the event was added or merged into some existing event.

I observed that there are for_each macros that do an extra memory access
beyond the defined area.
Normally this does not cause problems.
But, this can cause exceptions. For example: if the area is allocated at
the end of a page and the next page is not accessible.
For correctness, I suggest changing the arguments of the 'for loop' like
others 'for_each' do in the kernel.

Pull powerpc mremap fix from Ben Herrenschmidt:
"This is the patch that I had sent after -rc8 and which we decided to
wait before merging. It's based on a different tree than my -next
branch (it needs some pre-reqs that were in -rc4 or so while my -next
is based on -rc1) so I left it as a separate branch for your to pull.
It's identical to the request I did 2 or 3 weeks back.
This fixes crashes in mremap with THP on powerpc.
The fix however requires a small change in the generic code. It moves
a condition into a helper we can override from the arch which is
harmless, but it *also* slightly changes the order of the set_pmd and
the withdraw & deposit, which should be fine according to Kirill (who
wrote that code) but I agree -rc8 is a bit late...
It was acked by Kirill and Andrew told me to just merge it via powerpc"

@splice_desc.total_len is 32 bit(unsigned int) which is used to store the
size passed from userspace which is 64 bit(size_t) so that the size is
unexpectedly truncated
That means vmsplice can not work if the size passed from userspace is >=
4G, for example, we noticed in vmsplice, splice-reader does not do
anything and splice-writer is waiting for available buffer forever if the
size is 4G
Fix it by extending @splice_desc.total_len to 64 bits as well

This field is only used to reset the ids seq number if it exceeds the
smaller of INT_MAX/SEQ_MULTIPLIER and USHRT_MAX, and can therefore be
moved out of the structure and into its own macro. Since each
ipc_namespace contains a table of 3 pointers to struct ipc_ids we can
save space in instruction text:

The ipc code does not adhere the typical linux coding style.
This patch fixes lots of simple whitespace errors.
- mostly autogenerated by
scripts/checkpatch.pl -f --fix \
--types=pointer_location,spacing,space_before_tab
- one manual fixup (keep structure members tab-aligned)
- removal of additional space_before_tab that were not found by --fix
Tested with some of my msg and sem test apps.
Andrew: Could you include it in -mm and move it towards Linus' tree?

The new memblock_virt APIs are used to replaced old bootmem API.
We need to allocate page below 4G for swiotlb.
That should fix regression on Andrew's system that is using swiotlb.

LED platform data are overwhelmed by excessive field "max_cur"
which just replicates few bits of "led_control" field.
This patch removes this field and adds a definition for the
current settings in the header.
