2011-12-28ipv6: Use universal hash for NDISC.David S. Miller
In order to perform a proper universal hash on a vector of integers, we have to use different universal hashes on each vector element. Which means we need 4 different hash randoms for ipv6. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-07-18net: Add ->neigh_lookup() operation to dst_opsDavid S. Miller
In the future dst entries will be neigh-less. In that environment we need to have an easy transition point for current users of dst->neighbour outside of the packet output fast path. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-07-13ipv4: Inline neigh binding.David Miller
Get rid of all of the useless and costly indirection by doing the neigh hash table lookup directly inside of the neighbour binding. Rename from arp_bind_neighbour to rt_bind_neighbour. Use new helpers {__,}ipv4_neigh_lookup() In rt_bind_neighbour() get rid of useless tests which are never true in the context this function is called, namely dev is never NULL and the dst->neighbour is always NULL. 2011-07-11ipv4: Use universal hash for ARP.David S. Miller
We need to make sure the multiplier is odd. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-01-10arp: allow to invalidate specific ARP entriesMaxim Levitsky
IPv4 over firewire needs to be able to remove ARP entries from the ARP cache that belong to nodes that are removed, because IPv4 over firewire uses ARP packets for private information about nodes. This information becomes invalid as soon as node drops off the bus and when it reconnects, its only possible to start talking to it after it responded to an ARP packet. But ARP cache prevents such packets from being sent. Signed-off-by: Maxim Levitsky <maximlevitsky@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-09-29arp: remove unnecessary export of arp_broken_opsstephen hemminger
arp_broken_ops is only used in arp.c Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-09-01net: make neigh_ops constantStephen Hemminger
These tables are never modified at runtime. Move to read-only section. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@vyatta.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2008-01-28[IPV4]: Pass the net pointer to the arp_req_set_proxy()Pavel Emelyanov
This one will need to set the IPV4_DEVCONF_ALL(PROXY_ARP), but there's no ways to get the net right in place, so we have to pull one from the inet_ioctl's struct sock. Signed-off-by: Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2006-04-14[IPV4]: Possible cleanups.Adrian Bunk
This patch contains the following possible cleanups: - make the following needlessly global function static: - arp.c: arp_rcv() - remove the following unused EXPORT_SYMBOL's: - devinet.c: devinet_ioctl - fib_frontend.c: ip_rt_ioctl - inet_hashtables.c: inet_bind_bucket_create - inet_hashtables.c: inet_bind_hash - tcp_input.c: sysctl_tcp_abc - tcp_ipv4.c: sysctl_tcp_tw_reuse - tcp_output.c: sysctl_tcp_mtu_probing - tcp_output.c: sysctl_tcp_base_mss Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2005-08-29[NET]: Kill skb->real_devDavid S. Miller
Bonding just wants the device before the skb_bond() decapsulation occurs, so simply pass that original device into packet_type->func() as an argument. It remains to be seen whether we can use this same exact thing to get rid of skb->input_dev as well. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
