2014-06-03mfd: twl6040: Optional clk32k clock handlingPeter Ujfalusi
In certain boards the source for the clk32k clock can be gated. In these boards the clk32k clock can be provided to the driver and it is going to be enabled/disabled when it is needed. If the clk32k clock is not provided the driver will assume that it is always running. Signed-off-by: Peter Ujfalusi <peter.ujfalusi@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
2014-06-03mfd: twl6040: Select i2c fast mode as default with regmap patchPeter Ujfalusi
All boards using twl6040 configures the i2c bus to 400KHz. While twl6040's defaults to normal mode (100KHz). So far twl6040 has no problem with i2c communication in this configuration it is safer to select fast i2c mode. 2013-09-02mfd: twl6040: Use regmap for register cacheMark Brown
Rather then open coding a cache of the vibra control registers use the regmap cache code. Also cache the interrupt mask register, providing a small performance improvement for the interrupt code. 2013-07-31mfd: twl6040: Remove support for legacy (pdata) modePeter Ujfalusi
TWL6040 is used only with OMAP4/5 SoCs and they can only boot in in DT mode. The support for pdata/legacy boot can be removed. Add TODO comment to the header file that all pdata struct can be removed in the next merge window (after the sub driver updates are in). 2012-10-05Merge tag 'mfd-3.7-1' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sameo/mfd-2.6 Pull MFD changes from Samuel Ortiz: "MFD bits for the 3.7 merge window. As usual we have a few new drivers: - TI LP8788 - TI OMAP USB TLL - Maxim MAX8907 - SMSC ECE1099 - Dialog Semiconductor DA9055 - A simpler syscon driver that allow us to get rid of the anatop one. Drivers are also gradually getting Device Tree and IRQ domain support. The following drivers got DT support: - palmas, 88pm860x, tc3589x and twl4030-audio And those ones now use the IRQ domain APIs: - 88pm860x, tc3589x, db8500_prcmu Also some other interesting changes: - Intel's ICH LPC now supports Lynx Point - TI's twl4030-audio added a GPO child - tps6527 enabled its backlight subdevice - The twl6030 pwm driver moved to the new PWM subsystem And finally a bunch of cleanup and casual fixes for mc13xxx, 88pm860x, palmas, ab8500, wm8994, wm5110, max8907 and the tps65xxx family." Fix up various annoying conflicts: the DT and IRQ domain support came in twice and was already in 3.6. And then it was apparently rebased. 2011-09-19ASoC: twl6040: Chip initialization cleanupPeter Ujfalusi
There is no need to write to the vio registers at probe time, since most them either read only, or shared with MFD or not used. On the other hand it is a good idea to updated the ASICREV register in the cache at this time. After power up we need to restore some registers. 2011-07-04mfd: twl6040: Add initial supportMisael Lopez Cruz
TWL6040 IC provides analog high-end audio codec functions for handset applications. It contains several audio analog inputs and outputs as well as vibrator support. It's connected to the host processor via PDM interface for audio data communication. The audio modules are controlled by internal registers that can be accessed by I2C and PDM interface. TWL6040 MFD will be registered as a child of TWL-CORE, and will have two children of its own: twl6040-codec and twl6040-vibra. This driver is based on TWL4030 and WM8350 MFD drivers.
