2016-06-20drm: Mark set/drop master ioctl as unlocked.Daniel Vetter
Again this is neatly protected by the dev->master_mutex now. There is a driver callback both for set and drop, but it's only used by vmwgfx. And vmwgfx has it's own solid locking for shared resources (besides dev->master_mutex), hence is all safe. Let's drop another place where the drm legacy bkl is used. 2016-06-20drm: Mark authmagic ioctls as unlockedDaniel Vetter
All protected by dev->master_mutex. And there's no driver callbacks, which means no need to sync with old dri1 horror show drivers at all. Hence safe to drop the drm legacy BKL from these paths. 2016-06-20drm: Protect authmagic with master_mutexDaniel Vetter
Simplifies cleanup, and there's no reason drivers should ever care about authmagic at all - it's all handled in the core. And with that, Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time to pop the champagen and celebrate: dev->struct_mutex is now officially gone from modern drivers, and if a driver is using gem_free_object_unlocked and doesn't do anything else silly it's positively impossible to ever touch dev->struct_mutex at runtime, anywhere. Well except for the mutex_init on driver load ;-) v2: Rebased. 2016-06-20drm: Move authmagic cleanup into drm_master_releaseDaniel Vetter
It's related, and soon authmagic will also use the master_mutex. There is an ever-so-slightly semantic change here: - authmagic will only be cleaned up for primary_client drm_minors. But it's impossible to create authmagic on render/control nodes, so this is fine. - The cleanup is moved down a bit in the release processing. Doesn't matter at all since authmagic is purely internal logic used by the core ioctl access checks, and when we're in a file's release callback no one can do ioctls any more. v2: Rebased. 2016-06-20PCI: Fix unaligned accesses in VC codeDavid Miller
The save/restore buffers for VC state is first composed of a 2-byte control register, then a bunch of 4-byte words. This causes unaligned accesses which trap on platform such as sparc. This is easy to fix by simply moving the buffer pointer forward by 4 bytes instead of 2 after dealing with the control register. The length adjustment needs to be changed likewise as well. 2016-06-20dma-buf: remove dma_buf_debugfs_create_file()Mathias Krause

2016-06-20dma-buf: propagate errors from dma_buf_describe() on debugfs readMathias Krause
The callback function dma_buf_describe() returns an int not void so the function pointer cast in dma_buf_show() is wrong. dma_buf_describe() can also fail when acquiring the mutex gets interrupted so always returning 0 in dma_buf_show() is wrong, too. Fix both issues by avoiding the indirection via dma_buf_show() and call dma_buf_describe() directly. Rename it to dma_buf_debug_show() to get it in line with the other functions. 2016-06-20drm/i915: Avoid use-after-free of intel_encoder in intel_dp_connector_destrpyChris Wilson
The drm_dp_aux is associated with the intel_dp encoder and not the connector. Since the encoder is destroyed before the connector, attempting to free the drm_dp_aux from inside the connector cleanup causes a use-after-free. This was applied to the patch that CI was happy with, but in the confusion of so many series trying to make CI happy, the unready patch was plucked. 2016-06-18hwmon: (dell-smm) Disallow fan_type() calls on broken machinesPali Rohár
Some Dell machines have especially broken SMM or BIOS which cause that once fan_type() is called then CPU fan speed going randomly up and down. And for fixing this behaviour reboot is required. So this patch creates fan_type blacklist of affected Dell machines and disallow fan_type() call on them to prevent that erratic behaviour. Old blacklist which disabled loading driver on some machines added in commits a4b45b25f18d ("hwmon: (dell-smm) Blacklist Dell Studio XPS 8100") and 6220f4ebd7b4 ("hwmon: (dell-smm) Blacklist Dell Studio XPS 8000") were moved to FAN_TYPE blacklist. 2016-06-18hwmon: (dell-smm) Restrict fan control and serial number to CAP_SYS_ADMIN by ↵Pali Rohár
default For security reasons ordinary user must not be able to control fan speed via /proc/i8k by default. Some malicious software running under "nobody" user could be able to turn fan off and cause HW problems. So this patch changes default value of "restricted" parameter to 1. Also restrict reading of DMI_PRODUCT_SERIAL from /proc/i8k via "restricted" parameter. It is because non root user cannot read DMI_PRODUCT_SERIAL from sysfs file /sys/class/dmi/id/product_serial. Old non secure behaviour of file /proc/i8k can be achieved by loading this module with "restricted" parameter set to 0. Note that this patch has effects only for kernels compiled with CONFIG_I8K and only for file /proc/i8k. Hwmon interface provided by this driver was not changed and root access for setting fan speed was needed also before. 2016-06-17isa: Call isa_bus_init before dependent ISA bus drivers registerWilliam Breathitt Gray
The isa_bus_init function must be called before drivers which utilize the ISA bus driver are registered. A race condition for initilization exists if device_initcall is used (the isa_bus_init callback is placed in the same initcall level as dependent drivers which use module_init). This patch ensures that isa_bus_init is called first by utilizing postcore_initcall in favor of device_initcall.
