DMA usage is optional for the I2C driver. check for the -ENODEV error in order to avoid displaying an error when no DMA has been requested. Cleaning up the error messages during probe, remove the additional -EPROBE_DEFER within probe function since additional error message doesn't give much more information than what is already reported within the stm32_i2c_dma_request function. 2020-09-21i2c: add slave testunit driverWolfram Sang
Here is an I2C slave backend driver which allows to test some uncommon functionalities of the I2C and SMBus world. Usually, you need specific devices to test e.g. SMBus Host Notify and such. With this driver you just need the slave interface of another I2C controller. This initial version has testcases for multi-master and SMBus Host Notify. Already planned but not yet implemented are SMBus Alert and messages with I2C_M_RECV_LEN. Please read the documentation for further details. LOOP_TIMEOUT was only used back then because we didn't want to introduce another constant. The timeout value can easily be a magnitude shorter because the typical range is 3us - 8us. Refactor the code to use the poll_timeout helper, use a specific timeout value and get rid of the ugly LOOP_TIMEOUT constant. 2020-09-18i2c: rcar: improve bus busy detectionWolfram Sang
I2C doesn't define a timeout for bus busy, so an arbitrary value like LOOP_TIMEOUT is not a good idea. Let's use the timeout value in struct adapter which is meant for such cases and is user-configurable (via IOCTL). To reduce the load, wait 10us instead of 1us which is good enough for the slow frequencies used by I2C. Finally, use the poll_timeout helper instead of open coding it. 2020-09-09i2c: smbus: add core function handling SMBus host-notifyAlain Volmat
SMBus Host-Notify protocol, from the adapter point of view consist of receiving a message from a client, including the client address and some other data. It can be simply handled by creating a new slave device and registering a callback performing the parsing of the message received from the client. This commit introduces two new core functions * i2c_new_slave_host_notify_device * i2c_free_slave_host_notify_device that take care of registration of the new slave device and callback and will call i2c_handle_smbus_host_notify once a Host-Notify event is received. 2020-08-28i2c: xiic: Support forcing single-master in DTJaakko Laine
I2C master operating in multimaster mode can get stuck indefinitely if I2C start is detected on bus, but no master has a transaction going. This is a weakness in I2C standard, which defines no way to recover, since all masters are indefinitely disallowed from interrupting the currently operating master. A start condition can be created for example by an electromagnetic discharge applied near physical I2C lines. Or a already operating master could get reset immediately after sending a start. If it is known during device tree creation that only a single I2C master will be present on the bus, this deadlock of the I2C bus could be avoided in the driver by ignoring the bus_is_busy register of the xiic, since bus can never be reserved by any other master. This patch adds this support for detecting single-master flag in device tree and when provided, improves I2C reliability by ignoring the therefore unnecessary xiic bus_is_busy register. Error can be reproduced by pulling I2C SDA -line temporarily low by shorting it to ground, while linux I2C master is operating on it using the xiic driver. The computed value will also be garbage ent.port &= ~BIT(port); ~~~~~~~~ ^ ent is set by a successful call to b53_arl_read(). Unsuccessful calls are caught by an switch statement handling specific returns. b32_arl_read() calls b53_arl_op_wait() which fails with the unhandled -ETIMEDOUT. So add -ETIMEDOUT to the switch statement. Because b53_arl_op_wait() already prints out a message, do not add another one. 2020-08-20hv_netvsc: Fix the queue_mapping in netvsc_vf_xmit()Haiyang Zhang
netvsc_vf_xmit() / dev_queue_xmit() will call VF NIC’s ndo_select_queue or netdev_pick_tx() again. They will use skb_get_rx_queue() to get the queue number, so the “skb->queue_mapping - 1” will be used. This may cause the last queue of VF not been used. Use skb_record_rx_queue() here, so that the skb_get_rx_queue() called later will get the correct queue number, and VF will be able to use all queues. 2020-08-20RISC-V: Remove CLINT related code from timer and archAnup Patel
Right now the RISC-V timer driver is convoluted to support: 1. Linux RISC-V S-mode (with MMU) where it will use TIME CSR for clocksource and SBI timer calls for clockevent device. 2. Linux RISC-V M-mode (without MMU) where it will use CLINT MMIO counter register for clocksource and CLINT MMIO compare register for clockevent device. We now have a separate CLINT timer driver which also provide CLINT based IPI operations so let's remove CLINT MMIO related code from arch/riscv directory and RISC-V timer driver. 2020-08-20clocksource/drivers: Add CLINT timer driverAnup Patel
We add a separate CLINT timer driver for Linux RISC-V M-mode (i.e. RISC-V NoMMU kernel). The CLINT MMIO device provides three things: 1. 64bit free running counter register 2. 64bit per-CPU time compare registers 3. 32bit per-CPU inter-processor interrupt registers Unlike other timer devices, CLINT provides IPI registers along with timer registers. To use CLINT IPI registers, the CLINT timer driver provides IPI related callbacks to arch/riscv. 2020-08-20RDMA/hfi1: Correct an interlock issue for TID RDMA WRITE requestKaike Wan
The following message occurs when running an AI application with TID RDMA enabled: hfi1 0000:7f:00.0: hfi1_0: [QP74] hfi1_tid_timeout 4084 hfi1 0000:7f:00.0: hfi1_0: [QP70] hfi1_tid_timeout 4084 The issue happens when TID RDMA WRITE request is followed by an IB_WR_RDMA_WRITE_WITH_IMM request, the latter could be completed first on the responder side. As a result, no ACK packet for the latter could be sent because the TID RDMA WRITE request is still being processed on the responder side. When the TID RDMA WRITE request is eventually completed, the requester will wait for the IB_WR_RDMA_WRITE_WITH_IMM request to be acknowledged. If the next request is another TID RDMA WRITE request, no TID RDMA WRITE DATA packet could be sent because the preceding IB_WR_RDMA_WRITE_WITH_IMM request is not completed yet. Consequently the IB_WR_RDMA_WRITE_WITH_IMM will be retried but it will be ignored on the responder side because the responder thinks it has already been completed. Eventually the retry will be exhausted and the qp will be put into error state on the requester side. On the responder side, the TID resource timer will eventually expire because no TID RDMA WRITE DATA packets will be received for the second TID RDMA WRITE request. There is also risk of a write-after-write memory corruption due to the issue. Fix by adding a requester side interlock to prevent any potential data corruption and TID RDMA protocol error.
