The DRM uses the adjusted mode to calculate constants for vblank timestamping. Our encoder mode_fixup (usually) replaces this data with our backend mode information, which doesn't have the needed data filled in already. Some DCE8 boards have a funky BlankCrtc table that results in a timeout when trying to blank the display. This is effectively a revert of 4573388c92ee60b4ed72b8d95b73df861189988c. Forcing a display active when there is none causes problems with dpm on some SI boards which results in improperly initialized dpm state and boot failures on some boards. 2014-01-29drm/radeon: clean up active vram sizingAlex Deucher
If we are not able to properly initialize one of the gpu engines for buffer paging, we limit vram to the size of the cpu visible aperture. We generally either use the gfx or dma engine to do this. Clean up the size limiting code to only adjust the size based on what ring is selected for buffer paging rather than making assumptions about which engine is selected for paging. Drivers should not bind to struct acpi_device objects that acpi_bus_trim() has been called for, so make that function clear flags.match_driver for those objects. 2014-01-28bonding: fix locking in bond_loadbalance_arp_mon()Ding Tianhong
The commit 1d3ee88ae0d605629bf369 (bonding: add netlink attributes to slave link dev) has add rtmsg_ifinfo() in bond_set_active_slave() and bond_set_backup_slave(), so the two function need to called in RTNL lock, but bond_loadbalance_arp_mon() only calling these functions in RCU, warning message will occurs. fix this by add a new function bond_slave_state_change(), which will reset the slave's state after slave link check, so remove the bond_set_xxx_slave() from the cycle and only record the slave_state_changed, this will call the new function to set all slaves to new state in RTNL later. A file descriptor opened for /dev/net/tun and a tun device are connected with ioctl. Though understanding the connection is important for trouble shooting, no way is given to a user to know the connected device for a given file descriptor at userland. This patch adds a new fdinfo field for the device name connected to a file descriptor opened for /dev/net/tun. 2014-01-29powerpc/pseries/cpuidle: smt-snooze-delay cleanup.Deepthi Dharwar
smt-snooze-delay was designed to disable NAP state or delay the entry to the NAP state prior to adoption of cpuidle framework. This is per-cpu variable. With the coming of CPUIDLE framework, states can be disabled on per-cpu basis using the cpuidle/enable sysfs entry. Also, with the coming of cpuidle driver each state's target residency is per-driver unlike earlier which was per-device. Therefore, the per-cpu sysfs smt-snooze-delay which decides the target residency of the idle state on a particular cpu causes more confusion to the user as we cannot have different smt-snooze-delay (target residency) values for each cpu. In the current code, smt-snooze-delay functionality is completely broken. It makes sense to remove smt-snooze-delay from idle driver with the coming of cpuidle framework. However, sysfs files are retained as ppc64_util currently utilises it. Once we fix ppc64_util, propose to clean up the kernel code. This patch replaces the cpuidle driver and devices initialisation calls with a single generic cpuidle_register() call and also includes minor refactoring of the code around it. Remove the cpu online check in snooze loop, as this code can only locally run on a cpu only if it is online. Therefore, this check is not required. When user tried to change generic options using "ethtool -s" command, while SFP module is plugged out or during module detection, the command would have failed with "Unsupported port type" message. The fix is to ignore the port option in case it's same as the current port configuration. regulator API There is currently no facility in ACPI to express the hookup of voltage regulators, the expectation is that the regulators that exist in the system will be handled transparently by firmware if they need software control at all. This means that if for some reason the regulator API is enabled on such a system it should assume that any supplies that devices need are provided by the system at all relevant times without any software intervention. Tell the regulator core to make this assumption by calling regulator_has_full_constraints(). Do this as soon as we know we are using ACPI so that the information is available to the regulator core as early as possible. This will cause the regulator core to pretend that there is an always on regulator supplying any supply that is requested but that has not otherwise been mapped which is the behaviour expected on a system with ACPI. Should the ability to specify regulators be added in future revisions of ACPI then once we have support for ACPI mappings in the kernel the same assumptions will apply. It is also likely that systems will default to a mode of operation which does not require any interpretation of these mappings in order to be compatible with existing operating system releases so it should remain safe to make these assumptions even if the mappings exist but are not supported by the kernel.
