2010-10-22USB: gadget: storage: reuse definitions from scsi.h header fileMichal Nazarewicz
This commit changes storage_common.h, file_storage.c and f_mass_storage.c to use definitions of SCSI commands from scsi/scsi.h file instead of redefining the commands in storage_common.c. scsi/scsi.h header file was missing READ_FORMAT_CAPACITIES and READ_HEADER so this commit also add those to the header. 2010-10-22USB: g_file_storage: don't generate automatic serial stringAlan Stern
This patch (as1413) changes g_file_storage to avoid generating a bogus automatic serial-number string descriptor. If the user doesn't provide a valid serial number via a module parameter then a warning is logged and the gadget won't have any serial string descriptor at all. 2010-08-10USB: gadget: storage: optional SCSI WRITE FUA bitAndy Shevchenko
MS Windows mounts removable storage in "Removal optimized mode" by default. All the writes to the media are synchronous which is achieved by setting FUA (Force Unit Access) bit in SCSI WRITE(10,12) commands. This prevents I/O requests aggregation in block layer dramatically decreasing performance. This patch brings an option to accept or ignore mentioned bit a) via specifying module parameter "nofua", or b) through sysfs entry /sys/devices/platform/_UDC_/gadget/gadget-lunX/nofua (_UDC_ is the name of the USB Device Controller driver) Patch is based on the work that was done by Denis Karpov for Maemo 5 platform. 2010-08-10usb: gadget: storage: strict coversion of 'ro' parameterAndy Shevchenko
Bring a strict way to get the 'ro' parameter from the user. The patch followed by this one adds another boolean parameter. To be consistent MichaƂ Nazarewicz proposed to use simple_strtol() in both cases (correspondend discussion in LKML [1]). Due to simple_strtol() doesn't return error in a good way and we have a boolean parameter the strict_strtoul() is used. 2010-08-10USB: gadget: storage_common: comments updatedMichal Nazarewicz
Updated comment to describe why printing macros are needed even thought they are copied form the composite.h. Also, made multiline comments follow the coding standard. Signed-off-by: Michal Nazarewicz <m.nazarewicz@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2010-05-21sanitize vfs_fsync calling conventionsChristoph Hellwig
Now that the last user passing a NULL file pointer is gone we can remove the redundant dentry argument and associated hacks inside vfs_fsynmc_range. The next step will be removig the dentry argument from ->fsync, but given the luck with the last round of method prototype changes I'd rather defer this until after the main merge window. 2009-12-11USB: g_mass_storage: code cleaned up and comments updatedMichal Nazarewicz
Fixed most of the errors and warnings in f_mass_storage.c and storage_common.c reported by checkpatch.pl as well as updated comments. Signed-off-by: Michal Nazarewicz <m.nazarewicz@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2009-12-11USB: g_mass_storage: Mass Storage Function createdMichal Nazarewicz
The f_mass_storage.c has been changed into a composite function. mass_storage.c file has been introduced which defines a g_mass_storage gadget based on composite framework. Signed-off-by: Michal Nazarewicz <m.nazarewicz@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2009-12-11USB: g_mass_storage: constant length buffers usedMichal Nazarewicz
Using version of fsg_buffhd structure with buf field being an array of characters with predefined size. Since mass storage function does not define changing buffer size on run-time it is not required for the field to be a pointer to void and allocating space dynamically. 2009-12-11USB: g_mass_storage: testing code from f_mass_storage.c removedMichal Nazarewicz
Removed code that was included when CONFIG_USB_FILE_STORAGE_TEST was defined. If this functionality is required one may still use the original File-backed Storage Gadget. It has been agreed that testing functionality is not required in the composite function. Also removed fsg_suspend() and fsg_resume() which were no operations. Moreover, storage_common.c has been modified in such a way that defining certain macros skips parts of the file. Those macros are: * FSG_NO_INTR_EP -- skips interrupt endpoint descriptors * FSG_NO_DEVICE_STRINGS -- skips certain strings * FSG_NO_OTG -- skips OTG descriptor Signed-off-by: Michal Nazarewicz <m.nazarewicz@samsung.com> Cc: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Cc: Alan Stern <stern@rowland.harvard.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2009-12-11USB: g_file_storage: more code from file_storage.c moved to storage_common.cMichal Nazarewicz
Since storage_common.c no longer references mod_data object it is now possible to include it before mod_data object is defined. This makes it possible to move some defines that are used as default values of mod_data fields to be defined in storage_common.c file (where they should be set from the beginning). Also, show_ro(), show_file(), store_ro() and store_file() have been moved to storage_common.c with LUN's device's drvdata changed from pointing to fsg_dev to pointing to rw_semaphore (&fsg->filesem). 2009-12-11USB: g_file_storage: per-LUN ro, removable and cdrom flags handling changedMichal Nazarewicz
removable and cdrom flag has been added to the fsg_lun structure removing any references to mod_data object from storage_common.c. As of read-only flag, previously it was set if a read-only backing file was specified (which is good) and remained set even after the file has been closed (which may be considered an issue). Currently, the initial read-only flag is preserved so if it was unset each time file is opened code will try to open it read-write even if previous file was opened read-only. 2009-12-11USB: g_file_storage: "fsg_" prefix added to some identifiersMichal Nazarewicz
Prefixed some identifiers that were defined in storage_common.c file with "fsg_". Not all identifiers were prefixed but the ones that are most likely to produce conflicts when used with other USB functions. 2009-12-11USB: g_file_storage: parts of file_storage.c moved to separate fileMichal Nazarewicz
Moved parts of the file_storage.c file which do not reference fsg_dev structure to newly created storage_common.c file. dump_msg() and dump_cdb() have been changed to macros to remove fsg_dev reference.
