2017-03-03Merge branch 'WIP.sched-core-for-linus' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip Pull sched.h split-up from Ingo Molnar: "The point of these changes is to significantly reduce the <linux/sched.h> header footprint, to speed up the kernel build and to have a cleaner header structure. After these changes the new <linux/sched.h>'s typical preprocessed size goes down from a previous ~0.68 MB (~22K lines) to ~0.45 MB (~15K lines), which is around 40% faster to build on typical configs. Not much changed from the last version (-v2) posted three weeks ago: I eliminated quirks, backmerged fixes plus I rebased it to an upstream SHA1 from yesterday that includes most changes queued up in -next plus all sched.h changes that were pending from Andrew. I've re-tested the series both on x86 and on cross-arch defconfigs, and did a bisectability test at a number of random points. I tried to test as many build configurations as possible, but some build breakage is probably still left - but it should be mostly limited to architectures that have no cross-compiler binaries available on kernel.org, and non-default configurations" * 'WIP.sched-core-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: (146 commits) sched/headers: Clean up <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove #ifdefs from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove the <linux/topology.h> include from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers, hrtimer: Remove the <linux/wait.h> include from <linux/hrtimer.h> sched/headers, x86/apic: Remove the <linux/pm.h> header inclusion from <asm/apic.h> sched/headers, timers: Remove the <linux/sysctl.h> include from <linux/timer.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/magic.h> from <linux/sched/task_stack.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/sched.h> from <linux/sched/init.h> sched/core: Remove unused prefetch_stack() sched/headers: Remove <linux/rculist.h> from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove the 'init_pid_ns' prototype from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/signal.h> from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/rwsem.h> from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove the runqueue_is_locked() prototype sched/headers: Remove <linux/sched.h> from <linux/sched/hotplug.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/sched.h> from <linux/sched/debug.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/sched.h> from <linux/sched/nohz.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/sched.h> from <linux/sched/stat.h> sched/headers: Remove the <linux/gfp.h> include from <linux/sched.h> sched/headers: Remove <linux/rtmutex.h> from <linux/sched.h> ...

2017-03-02sched/headers: Prepare to move signal wakeup & sigpending methods from ↵Ingo Molnar

2017-03-02sched/headers: Prepare for new header dependencies before moving code to ↵Ingo Molnar
<linux/sched/signal.h> We are going to split <linux/sched/signal.h> out of <linux/sched.h>, which will have to be picked up from other headers and a couple of .c files. Create a trivial placeholder <linux/sched/signal.h> file that just maps to <linux/sched.h> to make this patch obviously correct and bisectable. Include the new header in the files that are going to need it. 2017-02-26iscsi-target: Fix early login failure statistics missesNicholas Bellinger
Due to the long standing checks in iscsit_snmp_get_tiqn() that assume conn->sess->tpg dereference of tpg->tpg_tiqn for iscsit_collect_login_stats() usage, some of the early login failure cases like ISCSI_LOGIN_STATUS_TGT_FORBIDDEN where not getting incremented, due to sess->tpg assignment happening later in iscsi_login_zero_tsih_s2(). Instead, use the earlier conn->tpg assignment done by iscsi_target_locate_portal() -> iscsit_get_tpg_from_np() so the existing counters are incremented correctly for the various early login failure cases. Also, go ahead and drop the old rate limiting check in iscsit_collect_login_stats(), so we get the true number of failed login attempts in the existing statistics. 2017-02-18target/iscsi: Fix unsolicited data seq_end_offset calculationVarun Prakash
In case of unsolicited data for the first sequence seq_end_offset must be set to minimum of total data length and FirstBurstLength, so do not add cmd->write_data_done to the min of total data length and FirstBurstLength. This patch avoids that with ImmediateData=Yes, InitialR2T=No, MaxXmitDataSegmentLength < FirstBurstLength that a WRITE command with IO size above FirstBurstLength triggers sequence error messages, for example Set following parameters on target (linux-4.8.12) ImmediateData = Yes InitialR2T = No MaxXmitDataSegmentLength = 8k FirstBurstLength = 64k Log in from Open iSCSI initiator and execute dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb bs=128k count=1 oflag=direct Error messages on target Command ITT: 0x00000035 with Offset: 65536, Length: 8192 outside of Sequence 73728:131072 while DataSequenceInOrder=Yes. 2017-02-18target/cxgbit: add T6 iSCSI DDP completion featureVarun Prakash
Chelsio T6 adapters reduce number of completion to host by generating single completion for all directly placed(DDP) iSCSI pdus in a sequence, completion contains iSCSI hdr of the last pdu in a sequence. On receiving DDP completion cxgbit driver finds iSCSI cmd using iscsit_find_cmd_from_itt_or_dump(), then updates cmd->write_data_done, cmd->next_burst_len, cmd->data_sn and calls __iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() to validate iSCSI hdr. 2017-02-18target/iscsi: split iscsit_check_dataout_hdr()Varun Prakash
Split iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() into two functions 1. __iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() - This function validates data out hdr. 2. iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() - This function finds iSCSI cmd using iscsit_find_cmd_from_itt_or_dump(), then it calls __iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() to validate iSCSI hdr. This split is required to support Chelsio T6 iSCSI DDP completion feature. T6 adapters reduce number of completions to host by generating single completion for all directly placed(DDP) iSCSI pdus in a sequence, DDP completion contains iSCSI hdr of the last pdu in a sequence. On receiving DDP completion cxgbit driver will first find iSCSI cmd using iscsit_find_cmd_from_itt_or_dump() then updates cmd->write_data_done, cmd->next_burst_len, cmd->data_sn and calls __iscsit_check_dataout_hdr() to validate iSCSI hdr. 2016-12-16iscsi-target: Return error if unable to add network portalVarun Prakash
If iscsit_tpg_add_network_portal() fails then return error code instead of 0 to user space. If iscsi-target returns 0 then user space keeps on retrying same command infinitely, targetcli or echo hangs till command completes with non zero return value. In some cases it is possible that add network portal command never completes with success even after retrying multiple times, for example - cxgbit_setup_np() always returns -EINVAL if portal IP does not belong to Chelsio adapter interface. 2016-07-25libcxgb: add library module for Chelsio driversVarun Prakash
Add common library module(libcxgb.ko) for Chelsio drivers to remove duplicate code. Code for iSCSI DDP Page Pod Manager is moved from cxgb4.ko to libcxgb.ko. Earlier only cxgbit.ko was using this code, now cxgb3i and cxgb4i will also use common Page Pod manager code. In future this module will have common connection management and hardware specific code that can be shared by multiple Chelsio drivers. 2016-07-20iscsi-target: Fix panic when adding second TCP connection to iSCSI sessionFeng Li
In MC/S scenario, the conn->sess has been set NULL in iscsi_login_non_zero_tsih_s1 when the second connection comes here, then kernel panic. The conn->sess will be assigned in iscsi_login_non_zero_tsih_s2. So we should check whether it's NULL before calling. 2016-07-20target: Fix race between iscsi-target connection shutdown + ABORT_TASKNicholas Bellinger
This patch fixes a race in iscsit_release_commands_from_conn() -> iscsit_free_cmd() -> transport_generic_free_cmd() + wait_for_tasks=1, where CMD_T_FABRIC_STOP could end up being set after the final kref_put() is called from core_tmr_abort_task() context. This results in transport_generic_free_cmd() blocking indefinately on se_cmd->cmd_wait_comp, because the target_release_cmd_kref() check for CMD_T_FABRIC_STOP returns false. To address this bug, make iscsit_release_commands_from_conn() do list_splice and set CMD_T_FABRIC_STOP early while holding iscsi_conn->cmd_lock. Also make iscsit_aborted_task() only remove iscsi_cmd_t if CMD_T_FABRIC_STOP has not already been set. Finally in target_release_cmd_kref(), only honor fabric_stop if CMD_T_ABORTED has been set. 2016-05-17iscsi-target: Fix early sk_data_ready LOGIN_FLAGS_READY raceNicholas Bellinger
There is a iscsi-target/tcp login race in LOGIN_FLAGS_READY state assignment that can result in frequent errors during iscsi discovery: "iSCSI Login negotiation failed." To address this bug, move the initial LOGIN_FLAGS_READY assignment ahead of iscsi_target_do_login() when handling the initial iscsi_target_start_negotiation() request PDU during connection login. As iscsi_target_do_login_rx() work_struct callback is clearing LOGIN_FLAGS_READ_ACTIVE after subsequent calls to iscsi_target_do_login(), the early sk_data_ready ahead of the first iscsi_target_do_login() expects LOGIN_FLAGS_READY to also be set for the initial login request PDU. As reported by Maged, this was first obsered using an MSFT initiator running across multiple VMWare host virtual machines with iscsi-target/tcp.
