2019-05-06platform/x86: intel_pmc_ipc: Don't map non-used optional resourcesAndy Shevchenko
The intel_pmc_ipc driver has a placeholder for all possible resources that may have been provided by ACPI. Since there are few optional ones, the driver still uses them and binds to wrong ranges in resource tree: # grep intel_punit_ipc /proc/iomem 00000000-00000000 : intel_punit_ipc 00000000-00000000 : intel_punit_ipc 00000000-00000000 : intel_punit_ipc 00000000-00000000 : intel_punit_ipc This leads to issues with resource management during inserting and removing modules, such as intel_pmc_ipc itself, which can't be inserted anymore after first removal. Count the actual resources provided and supply only them to the child device. This is a real fix of the commit 8cc7fb4a6523 ("intel_pmc_ipc: update acpi resource structure for Punit") that also fixes a symptoms described in the commit 6cc8cbbc8868 ("platform/x86: intel_punit_ipc: Fix resource ioremap warning") that is going to be reverted afterwards. 2017-10-23platform/x86: intel_pmc_ipc: Use spin_lock to protect GCR updatesKuppuswamy Sathyanarayanan
Currently, update_no_reboot_bit() function implemented in this driver uses mutex_lock() to protect its register updates. But this function is called with in atomic context in iTCO_wdt_start() and iTCO_wdt_stop() functions in iTCO_wdt.c driver, which in turn causes "sleeping into atomic context" issue. This patch fixes this issue by replacing the mutex_lock() with spin_lock() to protect the GCR read/write/update APIs. iTCO_wdt driver need access to PMC_CFG GCR register to modify the noreboot setting. Currently, this is done by passing PMC_CFG reg address as memory resource to watchdog driver and allowing it directly modify the PMC_CFG register. But currently PMC driver also has requirement to memory map the entire GCR register space in this driver. This causes mem request failure in watchdog driver. So this patch fixes this issue by adding API to update noreboot flag and passes them to watchdog driver via platform data. According to Broxton APL spec, PMC MIMO resources for Global Control Registers(GCR) are located at 4K(0x1000) offset from IPC base address. In this driver, PLAT_RESOURCE_GCR_OFFSET macro defines the offset of GCR region base address from IPC base address and its current value of 0x1008 is incorrect because it points to location for PMC_CFG register and not the GCR base address itself. GCR Base = IPC1 Base + 0x1000. This patch fixes this offset issue. This patch adds the PCI Device id for Power Management Controller on Intel Apollo Lake platforms. Intel PMC IPC Driver loads as a platform driver on Apollo Lake platforms since Intel BIOS hides the PCI Configuration space for 0:13:1 and re-enumerates it as ACPI device (INT34D2). The correct PCI Device ID should be added if some platform firmware choses to enumerate the device via PCI space. This patch adds a new API to indicate S0ix residency in usec. It utilizes the PMC Global Control Registers (GCR) to read deep and shallow S0ix residency. PMC MMIO resources: o Lower 4kB: IPC1 (PMC inter-processor communication) interface o Upper 4kB: GCR (Global Control Registers) This enables the power management framework to take corrective actions when the platform fails to enter S0ix after kernel freeze as part of the suspend to idle flow. (echo freeze > /sys/power/state). ACPI WDAT table is the preferred way to use hardware watchdog over the native iTCO_wdt. Windows only uses this table for its hardware watchdog implementation so we should be relatively safe to trust it has been validated by OEMs. Prevent iTCO watchdog creation if we detect that there is an ACPI WDAT table. Which makes the IPC command to timeout. Because it's on the SMBus, it doesn't make sense to pass around a 'struct lpc_ich_info', and leaking the type of bus into the iTCO watchdog driver is kind of backwards anyway. This change introduces a new 'struct itco_wdt_platform_data' for use inside the iTCO watchdog driver and by the upcoming Intel Sunrisepoint code, which neatly avoids having to include lpc_ich headers in the i801 i2c driver. This change is overdue because lpc_ich_info has already found its way into other TCO watchdog users, notably the intel_pmc_ipc driver where the watchdog actually isn't on the LPC bus as far as I can see. A simple translation layer is provided for converting from the existing 'struct lpc_ich_info' inside the lpc_ich mfd driver.
