ACPI_EXCEPTION is only intended for internal use by the ACPICA code.
ACPI_EXCEPTION was being used here to change the apci_status code into
something human-readable, use acpi_format_exception() for this instead,
which is the proper way to do this outside of ACPICA.

Add support for SW_TABLET_MODE on the Acer Switch 10 (SW5-012) and the
acer Switch 10 (S1003) models.
There is no way to detect if this is supported, so this uses DMI based
quirks setting force_caps to ACER_CAP_KBD_DOCK (these devices have no
other acer-wmi based functionality).
The new SW_TABLET_MODE functionality can be tested on devices which
are not in the DMI table by passing acer_wmi.force_caps=0x40 on the
kernel commandline.

Not all devices supporting WMID_GUID3 support the wmid3_set_function_mode()
call, leading to errors like these:

Add an ACER_CAP_SET_FUNCTION_MODE capability flag, so that these calls

Add a new force_caps module parameter to allow overriding the drivers
builtin capability detection mechanism.
This can be used to for example:
-Disable rfkill functionality on devices where there is an AA OEM DMI
record advertising non functional rfkill switches
-Force loading of the driver on devices with a missing AA OEM DMI record
Note that force_caps is -1 when unset, this allows forcing the
capability field to 0, which results in acer-wmi only providing WMI
hotkey handling while disabling all other (led, rfkill, backlight)
functionality.

Cleanup accelerometer device handling:
-Drop acer_wmi_accel_destroy instead directly call input_unregister_device.
-The information tracked by the CAP_ACCEL flag mirrors acer_wmi_accel_dev
being NULL. Drop the CAP flag, this is a preparation change for allowing
users to override the capability flags. Dropping the flag stops users
from causing a NULL pointer dereference by forcing the capability.

set_quirks has a "if (!interface) return;" check at its beginning and
interface always is NULL when set_quirks is called from find_quirks,
so it is a no-op and we can drop it.
This also allows dropping the "if (!interface) return;" from set_quirks
since set_quirks now always is called with interface != NULL.

an ACPI device pointer of the first registered device in the system
by its HID.

Pull x86 platform driver updates from Andy Shevchenko:
"Gathered a bunch of x86 platform driver changes. It's rather big,
since includes two big refactors and completely new driver:
- ASUS WMI driver got a big refactoring in order to support the TUF
Gaming laptops. Besides that, the regression with backlight being
permanently off on various EeePC laptops has been fixed.
- Accelerometer on HP ProBook 450 G0 shows wrong measurements due to
X axis being inverted. This has been fixed.
- Intel PMC core driver has been extended to be ACPI enumerated if
the DSDT provides device with _HID "INT33A1". This allows to
convert the driver to be pure platform and support new hardware
purely based on ACPI DSDT.
- From now on the Intel Speed Select Technology is supported thru a
corresponding driver. This driver provides an access to the
features of the ISST, such as Performance Profile, Core Power, Base
frequency and Turbo Frequency.
- Mellanox platform drivers has been refactored and now extended to
support more systems, including new coming ones.
- The OLPC XO-1.75 platform is now supported.
- CB4063 Beckhoff Automation board is using PMC clocks, provided via
pmc_atom driver, for ethernet controllers in a way that they can't
be managed by the clock driver. The quirk has been extended to
cover this case.
- Touchscreen on Chuwi Hi10 Plus tablet has been enabled. Meanwhile
the information of Chuwi Hi10 Air has been fixed to cover more
models based on the same platform.
- Xiaomi notebooks have WMI interface enabled. Thus, the driver to
support it has been provided. It required some extension of the
generic WMI library, which allows to propagate opaque context to
the ->probe() of the individual drivers.
This release includes debugfs clean up from Greg KH for several
drivers that drop return code check and make debugfs absence or
failure non-fatal.
Also miscellaneous fixes here and there, mostly for Acer WMI and
various Intel drivers"

functions
When calling debugfs functions, there is no need to ever check the
return value. The function can work or not, but the code logic should
never do something different based on this.
Also, because there is no need to save the file dentry, remove the
variable that was saving it and just recursively delete the whole
directory.

This driver prints that "Unsupported machine..." message on every boot on
ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptops (and I assume a number of other systems), which
causes graphical boots to "glitch" a bit and is rather annoying ...
Make it a pr_debug instead.

Now that we have informed the firmware that the Power Button driver is active,
laptops such as the Acer Swift 3 will generate a WMI key event with code 0x87
when the power button key is pressed.
Add this keycode to the table so that it is converted to
an appropriate input event.

Pali Rohár found that there have some wmi query/evaluation
code that they used 'one' as the first WMI instance number.
But the number is indexed from zero that it's must less than
the instance_count in _WDG.
This patch changes those instance number from one to zero.

If a machine reports a RF Button in the communication button device
bitmap, we need to remove it before calling Get Device Status otherwise
it will return the "Undefined device" (0xE2) error code.
Although this may be a BIOS bug, we don't really need to get or set the
RF Button status. The status indicator LED embedded in the button is
controlled by firmware logic, depending on the status of the wireless
radios present on the machine (WiFi || WWAN).
This commit fixes the wireless status indicator LED on the Acer
TravelMate P648-G2-MG, and cleans the following message from the kernel
log: "Get Current Device Status failed: 0xe2 - 0x0".

The 98d610c3739a patch was introduced since v4.11-rc1 that it causes
that the accelerometer input device will not be created on workable
machines because the HID string comparing logic is wrong.
And, the patch doesn't prevent that the accelerometer input device
be created on the machines that have no BST0001. That's because
the acpi_get_devices() returns success even it didn't find any
match device.
This patch fixed the HID string comparing logic of BST0001 device.
And, it also makes sure that the acpi_get_devices() returns
acpi_handle for BST0001.

The same method to activate LM(Launch Manager) can also be used to
activate the RF Button driver with different bit toggled in the same
lm_status. To express that many functions this byte field can achieve,
rename the lm_status to app_status. And also the app_mask is the bit
mask which specifically indicate which bits are going to be changed.
This solves a problem where the AR9565 wifi included in the
Acer Aspire ES1-421 is permanently hard blocked according to the rfkill
GPIO read by ath9k.

notify event
The accelerometer event relies on the ACERWMID_EVENT_GUID notify.
So, this patch changes the codes to setup accelerometer input device
when detected ACERWMID_EVENT_GUID. It avoids that the accel input
device created on every Acer machines.
In addition, patch adds a clearly parsing logic of accelerometer hid
to acer_wmi_get_handle_cb callback function. It is positive matching
the "SENR" name with "BST0001" device to avoid non-supported hardware.

The AMW0_GUID1 wmi is not only found on Acer family but also other
machines like Lenovo, Fujitsu and Medion. In the past, acer-wmi handled
those non-Acer machines by quirks list.
But actually acer-wmi driver was loaded on any machine that had
AMW0_GUID1. This behavior is strange because those machines should be
supported by appropriate wmi drivers. e.g. fujitsu-laptop,
ideapad-laptop.
This patch adds the logic to check the machine that has AMW0_GUID1
should be in Acer/Packard Bell/Gateway white list. But, it still keeps
the quirk list of those supported non-acer machines for backward
compatibility.

Since v3.0 kernel, acer-wmi driver auto detects internal 3G device and
provides the threeg rfkill interface. So the sysfs interface of 3G is
no longer necessary now.
The 7b8aca65 patch added kernel information log to remind to user space
for the threeg sysfs interface will be removed in 2012, then b58b9ffc patch
updated the interface removing time to 2014.
I think the 3 years lead time is enough for user space application to use
rfkill instead of sysfs interface to control 3G device.
This patch removes code about threeg sysfs interface. And it also removes the
unused interface sysfs that exposes which ACPI-WMI method used by acer-wmi
driver on the machine. The information is already exposed by the acer-wmi
initial log.

Port the backlight selection logic to the new backlight interface
selection API.
This commit also removes various obsolete pr_xxx messages related to
backlight interface selection. These are obsolete because they assume
there is only a vendor or acpi backlight driver and no other choice.
Also they are not necessary, if the user wants to know which backlight
interfaces are registered a simple "ls /sys/class/backlight" suffices.

The acpi-video backlight interface on the Acer KAV80 is broken, and worse
it causes the entire machine to slow down significantly after a suspend/resume.
Blacklist it, and use the acer-wmi backlight interface instead. Note that
the KAV80 is somewhat unique in that it is the only Acer model where we
fall back to acer-wmi after blacklisting, rather then using the native
(e.g. intel) backlight driver. This is done because there is no native
backlight interface on this model.

A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the
driver core.

Quite a lot of code and data of acer-wmi.c is only ever used during
initialization. Mark those accordingly -- and constify, where
appropriate -- so the memory can be released afterwards.
All in all those changes move ~10 kB of code and data to the .init
sections, marking them for release after initialization has finished.

Switch from acpi_video_unregister(), to acpi_video_unregister_backlight(),
so that the hotkeys handler registered by acpi-video stays in place.
Since there are no mappings for the atkbd raw codes for the brightness
keys used by newer Acer models in /lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-keyboard.hwdb, and
since we map the wmi events with a code of KE_IGNORE, we rely on acpi-video
to do the hotkey handling for us.
For laptops such as the Acer Aspire 5750 which uses intel gfx this works
despite us calling acpi_video_unregister() because the following happens:
1) acpi-video module gets loaded (as it is a dependency of acer-wmi and i915)
2) acpi-video does NOT call acpi_video_register()
3) acer-wmi loads (assume it loads before i915), calls
acpi_video_dmi_promote_vendor(); which sets
ACPI_VIDEO_BACKLIGHT_DMI_VENDOR
4) calls acpi_video_unregister -> not registered, nop
5) i915 loads, calls acpi_video_register
6) acpi_video_register registers the acpi_notifier for the hotkeys,
does NOT register a backlight device because of
ACPI_VIDEO_BACKLIGHT_DMI_VENDOR
But on the Acer Aspire 5750G, which uses nvidia graphics the following happens:
1) acpi-video module gets loaded (as it is a dependency of acer-wmi)
2) acpi-video calls acpi_video_register()
3) acpi_video_register registers the acpi_notifier for the hotkeys,
and a backlight device
4) acer-wmi loads, calls acpi_video_dmi_promote_vendor()
5) calls acpi_video_unregister, this unregisters BOTH the acpi_notifier for
the hotkeys AND the backlight device
And we end up without any handler for the brightness hotkeys. This patch fixes
this by switching over to acpi_video_unregister_backlight() which keeps the
hotkey handler in place.

Replace direct inclusions of <acpi/acpi.h>, <acpi/acpi_bus.h> and
<acpi/acpi_drivers.h>, which are incorrect, with <linux/acpi.h>
inclusions and remove some inclusions of those files that aren't
necessary.
First of all, <acpi/acpi.h>, <acpi/acpi_bus.h> and <acpi/acpi_drivers.h>
should not be included directly from any files that are built for
CONFIG_ACPI unset, because that generally leads to build warnings about
undefined symbols in !CONFIG_ACPI builds. For CONFIG_ACPI set,
<linux/acpi.h> includes those files and for CONFIG_ACPI unset it
provides stub ACPI symbols to be used in that case.
Second, there are ordering dependencies between those files that always
have to be met. Namely, it is required that <acpi/acpi_bus.h> be included
prior to <acpi/acpi_drivers.h> so that the acpi_pci_root declarations the
latter depends on are always there. And <acpi/acpi.h> which provides
basic ACPICA type declarations should always be included prior to any other
ACPI headers in CONFIG_ACPI builds. That also is taken care of including
<linux/acpi.h> as appropriate.

Found another Lenovo ideapad S205 the product name is 1038DPG, it has
a 0x78 EC register exposes the state of wifi hardware switch on the machine.
So, add this patch to support Lenovo ideapad S205-1038DPG wifi hardware
switch in acer-wmi driver.
Evidently the Ideapad S205 is just a model name on the market, but they have
totally different product name in DMI table.

KEY_TOUCHPAD_TOOGLE key is for notice userland change touchpad state
via xf86-input-synaptics on the machine that don't toggle touchpad in
hardware. But, acer laptop actually toggle touchpad in hardware.
So, this patch change to emit KEY_TOUCHPAD_ON/OFF key when acer-wmi grab
device state of touchpad.

CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev*
markings need to be removed.
This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata,
__devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers.
Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me
in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand.
