platform_get_resource() may fail and return NULL, so we should
better check it's return value to avoid a NULL pointer dereference
a bit later in the code.
This is detected by Coccinelle semantic patch.

The datasheet does not document any registers to control drive strength,
and no drive strength registers are for this reason described for this
SoC. The flags indicating that drive strength can be controlled are
however set for some pins in the driver.
This leads to a NULL pointer dereference when the sh-pfc core tries to
access the struct describing the drive strength registers, for example
when reading the sysfs file pinconf-pins.
Fix this by removing the SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_DRIVE_STRENGTH from all pins.

When we are explicitly using GPIO hogging mechanism in the pinctrl node,
such as:
&pio {
line_input {
gpio-hog;
gpios = <95 0>, <96 0>, <97 0>;
input;
};
};
A kernel panic happens at dereferencing a NULL pointer: In this case, the
drvdata is still not setup properly yet when it is being accessed.
A better solution for fixing up this issue should be we should obtain the
private data from struct gpio_chip using a specific gpiochip_get_data
instead of a generic dev_get_drvdata.

If the pinctrl node has the gpio-ranges property, the range will be added
by the gpio core and doesn't need to be added by the pinctrl driver.
But for keeping backward compatibility, an explicit pinctrl_add_gpio_range
is still needed to be called when there is a missing gpio-ranges in pinctrl
node in old dts files.

Pinctrl drivers are a common dependency which can prevent a system
booting even if the default or bootloader configured settings can work.
If a pinctrl node in DT indicates that the default pin setup can be used
with the 'pinctrl-use-default' property, then only defer probe until
initcalls are done. If the deferred probe timeout is enabled or loadable
modules are disabled, then we'll stop deferring probe regardless of the
DT property. This gives platforms the option to work without their
pinctrl driver being enabled.
Dropped the pinctrl specific deferring probe message as the driver core
can print deferred probe related messages if needed.

If you do this on an sdm845 board:
grep "" /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl/*spmi:pmic*/pinconf-groups
...it looks like nonsense. For every pin you see listed:
input bias disabled, input bias high impedance, input bias pull down, input bias pull up, ...
That's because pmic_gpio_config_get() isn't complying with the rules
that pinconf_generic_dump_one() expects. Specifically for boolean
parameters (anything with a "struct pin_config_item" where has_arg is
false) the function expects that the function should return its value
not through the "config" parameter but should return "0" if the value
is set and "-EINVAL" if the value isn't set.
Let's fix this.
From a quick sample of other pinctrl drivers, it appears to be
tradition to also return 1 through the config parameter for these
boolean parameters when they exist. I'm not one to knock tradition,
so I'll follow tradition and return 1 in these cases. While I'm at
it, I'll also continue searching for four leaf clovers, kocking on
wood three times, and trying not to break mirrors.
NOTE: This also fixes an apparent typo for reading
PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE where the old driver was accidentally
using "=" instead of "==" and thus was setting some internal
state when you tried to query PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE. Oops.

Add suspend/resume hooks in pinctrl driver to handle S2RAM operations.
Beyond the traditional register save/restore operations, these hooks
also keep the GPIOs used for both-edge IRQ synchronized between their
level (low/high) and expected IRQ polarity (falling/rising edge).
Since pinctrl is an infrastructure module, its resume should be issued
prior to other IO drivers. The pinctrl PM operations are requested at
early/late stages for this reason.

Apart from the usual stuff, the debugfs code is currently also used for
one non-obvious side effect. It attempts to check whether the chip's
registers are still set to an expected value, and if not, re-initializes
them. It seems that the driver has "always" done so.
The code, however, also checks the INTF register which normally
indicates which pins have caused the recent interrupt. That's a volatile
register, and the datasheet says that writes are ignored in there.
When I'm just cat-ing /sys/kernel/debug/gpio with no SPI traffic and no
nosie on the GPIO lines, I'm not getting any warnings. Once I actually
use these GPIOs and cat that file in parallel, I always seem to get a:
mcp23s08 spi1.1: restoring reg 0x07 from 0x0000 to 0xffff (power-loss?)
This might be a sign that I should not leave my unused inputs floating,
but the code should not be checking a volatile register, anyway. Let's
simply skip this last item in the iteration. I was also considering
removing this enitre re-initialization because it's non-obvious, but the
code survived various refactorings already and has sign-offs by people
who know more than I do, so let's leave it as-is. For now :).

The function, external interrupt controller, is made as an optional to
mt7622 pinctrl. But if we don't want pio behaves as an external interrupt
controller, it would lead to hw->eint not be created properly and then
will cause 'kernel NULL pointer' issue when gpiochip try to call .to_irq
or .set_config. To fix it, check hw->eint before accessing the member.

Commit b89405b6102f ("pinctrl: devicetree: Fix dt_to_map_one_config
handling of hogs") causes the pinctrl hog pins to not get initialized
on i.MX platforms leaving them with the IOMUX settings untouched.
This causes several regressions on i.MX such as:
- OV5640 camera driver can not be probed anymore on imx6qdl-sabresd
because the camera clock pin is in a pinctrl_hog group and since
its pinctrl initialization is skipped, the camera clock is kept
in GPIO functionality instead of CLK_CKO function.
- Audio stopped working on imx6qdl-wandboard and imx53-qsb for
the same reason.
Richard Fitzgerald explains the problem:
"I see the bug. If the hog node isn't a 1st level child of the pinctrl
parent node it will go around the for(;;) loop again but on the first
pass I overwrite pctldev with the result of
get_pinctrl_dev_from_of_node() so it doesn't point to the pinctrl driver
any more."
Fix the issue by stashing the original pctldev so it doesn't
get overwritten.

The devm_kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, devm_kcalloc().
This patch replaces cases of:
devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)
with:
devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp)
with:
devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle
really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...".
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

The devm_kmalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form,
devm_kmalloc_array(). This patch replaces cases of:
devm_kmalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)
with:

as well as handling cases of:

as it's slightly less ugly than:

The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:
kzalloc(a * b, gfp)
with:
kcalloc(a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)
with:
kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux
Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd:
"This time we have a good set of changes to the core framework that do
some general cleanups, but nothing too major. The majority of the diff
goes to two SoCs, Actions Semi and Qualcomm. A brand new driver is
introduced for Actions Semi so it takes up some lines to add all the
different types, and the Qualcomm diff is there because we add support
for two SoCs and it's quite a bit of data.
Otherwise the big driver updates are on TI Davinci and Amlogic
platforms. And then the long tail of driver updates for various fixes
and stuff follows after that.
Core:
- debugfs cleanups removing error checking and an unused provider API
- Removal of a clk init typedef that isn't used
- Usage of match_string() to simplify parent string name matching
- OF clk helpers moved to their own file (linux/of_clk.h)
- Make clk warnings more readable across kernel versions
New Drivers:
- Qualcomm SDM845 GCC and Video clk controllers
- Qualcomm MSM8998 GCC
- Actions Semi S900 SoC support
- Nuvoton npcm750 microcontroller clks
- Amlogic axg AO clock controller
Removed Drivers:
- Deprecated Rockchip clk-gate driver
Updates:
- debugfs functions stopped checking return values
- Support for the MSIOF module clocks on Rensas R-Car M3-N
- Support for the new Rensas RZ/G1C and R-Car E3 SoCs
- Qualcomm GDSC, RCG, and PLL updates for clk changes in new SoCs
- Berlin and Amlogic SPDX tagging
- Usage of of_clk_get_parent_count() in more places
- Proper implementation of the CDEV1/2 clocks on Tegra20
- Allwinner H6 PRCM clock support and R40 EMAC support
- Add critical flag to meson8b's fdiv2 as temporary fixup for ethernet
- Round closest support for meson's mpll driver
- Support for meson8b nand clocks and gxbb video decoder clocks

Pull overflow updates from Kees Cook:
"This adds the new overflow checking helpers and adds them to the
2-factor argument allocators. And this adds the saturating size
helpers and does a treewide replacement for the struct_size() usage.
Additionally this adds the overflow testing modules to make sure
everything works.
I'm still working on the treewide replacements for allocators with
"simple" multiplied arguments:
*alloc(a * b, ...) -> *alloc_array(a, b, ...)
and
*zalloc(a * b, ...) -> *calloc(a, b, ...)
as well as the more complex cases, but that's separable from this
portion of the series. I expect to have the rest sent before -rc1
closes; there are a lot of messy cases to clean up.
Summary:
- Introduce arithmetic overflow test helper functions (Rasmus)
- Use overflow helpers in 2-factor allocators (Kees, Rasmus)
- Introduce overflow test module (Rasmus, Kees)
- Introduce saturating size helper functions (Matthew, Kees)
- Treewide use of struct_size() for allocators (Kees)"

These codecs have a variable number of I/O lines each of which
is individually selectable to a wide range of possible functions.
The functionality is slightly different from the traditional muxed
GPIO since most of the functions can be mapped to any pin (and even
the same function to multiple pins). Most pins have a dedicated
"alternate" function that is only available on that pin. The
alternate functions are usually a group of signals, though it is
not always necessary to enable the full group, depending on the
alternate function and how it is to be used. The mapping between
alternate functions and GPIO pins varies between codecs depending
on the number of alternate functions and available pins.

As Google/Intel will fix the BIOS/Coreboot issues with hardcoding
virtual interrupt numbers for keyboard/touchpad/touchscreen controllers
in ACPI tables, they will also update BOARD version number from 1.0
to 1.1. Let's limit the DMI quirks that try to preserve virtual IRQ
numbers on Strago boards to those that still carry older BIOSes.
Note that ideally not BOARD but BIOS version should have been updated.
However the BIOS version used by Chrome devices has format of
Google_BUILD.BRANCH.PATCH which is not well suited for DMI matching as
we do not have "less than" match mode for DMI data.

The device node iterators perform an of_node_get on each iteration, so a
jump out of the loop requires an of_node_put.

Until now, if we found spurious irq in irq_handler, we only updated the
status in register but not the status in the code. Due to this the system

Sven Eckelmann reported an issue with the current IPQ4019 pinctrl.
Setting up any gpio-hog in the device-tree for his device would
"kill the bootup completely":
| [ 0.477838] msm_serial 78af000.serial: could not find pctldev for node /soc/pinctrl@1000000/serial_pinmux, deferring probe

| [ 1.322415] spi_qup 78b5000.spi: could not find pctldev for node /soc/pinctrl@1000000/spi_0_pinmux, deferri
This was also verified on a RT-AC58U (IPQ4018) which would
no longer boot, if a gpio-hog was specified. (Tried forcing
the USB LED PIN (GPIO0) to high.).
The problem is that Pinctrl+GPIO registration is currently
peformed in the following order in pinctrl-msm.c:
1. pinctrl_register()
2. gpiochip_add()
3. gpiochip_add_pin_range()
The actual error code -517 == -EPROBE_DEFER is coming from
pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range(), which is called through:
gpiochip_add
of_gpiochip_add
of_gpiochip_scan_gpios
gpiod_hog
gpiochip_request_own_desc
__gpiod_request
chip->request
gpiochip_generic_request
pinctrl_gpio_request
pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range
pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range() is unable to find any valid
pin ranges, since nothing has been added to the pinctrldev_list yet.
so the range can't be found, and the operation fails with -EPROBE_DEFER.
This patch fixes the issue by adding the "gpio-ranges" property to
the pinctrl device node of all upstream Qcom SoC. The pin ranges are
then added by the gpio core.
In order to remain compatible with older, existing DTs (and ACPI)
a check for the "gpio-ranges" property has been added to
msm_gpio_init(). This prevents the driver of adding the same entry
to the pinctrldev_list twice.

This patch is in preparation for adding EINT support to MT7622 pinctrl,
and the refactoring doesn't alter any existent logic.
A reason we have to refactor EINT code pieces into a generic way is that
currently, they're tightly coupled with a certain type of MediaTek pinctrl
would cause a grown in a very bad way as there is different types of
pinctrl devices getting to join.
Therefore, it is an essential or urgent thing that EINT code pieces are
refactored to eliminate any dependencies across GPIO and EINT as possible.
Additional structure mtk_eint_[xt, hw, regs] are being introduced for
indicating how maps being designed between GPIO and EINT hw number, how to
set and get GPIO state for a certain EINT pin, what characteristic on a
EINT device is present on various SoCs.

Samsung pinctrl drivers changes for v4.18
1. Driver expects specific order of GPIO interrupt banks. For S5Pv220
and Exynos5410 this order was not preserved so fix and document it.
2. Remove support for Exynos5440 (tree-wide, support is dropped because
there are no real users of this platform, it also did not get testing
since long time).
3. Fix lost state of GPF1..5 pins on Exynos5433 during system suspend.
