2017-03-06net: sis: sis900: use new api ethtool_{get|set}_link_ksettingsPhilippe Reynes
The ethtool api {get|set}_settings is deprecated. We move this driver to new api {get|set}_link_ksettings. As I don't have the hardware, I'd be very pleased if someone may test this patch. Signed-off-by: Philippe Reynes <tremyfr@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2016-10-13net: deprecate eth_change_mtu, remove usageJarod Wilson
With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it. Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set to 4096 to remedy that. v2: fix up lantiq_etop, missed breakage due to drive not compiling on x86 CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Jarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-09-12sis900: use IS_ENABLED() instead of checking for built-in or moduleJavier Martinez Canillas
The IS_ENABLED() macro checks if a Kconfig symbol has been enabled either built-in or as a module, use that macro instead of open coding the same. Using the macro makes the code more readable by helping abstract away some of the Kconfig built-in and module enable details. 2012-10-07drivers/net/ethernet/sis/sis900.c: fix error return codePeter Senna Tschudin
The function sis900_probe() return 0 for success and negative value for most of its internal tests failures. There is one exception that is error case going to err_out_cleardev:. Fore this error case, the function abort its success execution path, but returns non negative value, making it difficult for a caller function to notice the error. This patch fixes the error case that do not return negative value. This was found by Coccinelle, but the code change was made by hand. This patch is not robot generated. A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> ( if@p1 (\(ret < 0\|ret != 0\)) { ... return ret; } | ret@p1 = 0 ) ... when != ret = e1 when != &ret *if(...) { ... when != ret = e2 when forall return ret; } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
