2020-07-20net: atlantic: split rx and tx per-queue statsMark Starovoytov
This patch splits rx and tx per-queue stats. This change simplifies the follow-up introduction of PTP stats and u64_stats_update_* usage. 2020-07-20net: atlantic: make _get_sw_stats return count as return valueMark Starovoytov
This patch changes aq_vec_get_sw_stats() to return count as a return value (which was unused) instead of an out parameter. Signed-off-by: Mark Starovoytov <mstarovoitov@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Igor Russkikh <irusskikh@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2020-07-20net: atlantic: use simple assignment in _get_stats and _get_sw_statsMark Starovoytov
This patch replaces addition assignment operator with a simple assignment in aq_vec_get_stats() and aq_vec_get_sw_stats(), because it is sufficient in both cases and this change simplifies the introduction of u64_stats_update_* in these functions. 2020-05-22net: atlantic: make TCVEC2RING accept nic_cfgMark Starovoytov
This patch updates TCVEC2RING to accept nic_cfg, which is needed to be able to use it from hw_atl. The name is updated to reflect the changes. 2020-05-22net: atlantic: per-TC queue statisticsMark Starovoytov
This patch adds support for per-TC queue statistics. By default (single TC), the output is the same as it used to be, e.g.: Queue[0] InPackets: 2 Queue[0] OutPackets: 8 Queue[0] Restarts: 0 Queue[0] InJumboPackets: 0 Queue[0] InLroPackets: 0 Queue[0] InErrors: 0 If several TCs are enabled, then each queue statistics line is prefixed with TC number, e.g.: TC0 Queue[0] InPackets: 6 TC0 Queue[0] OutPackets: 11 Queue numbering is end-to-end, so: TC1 Queue[4] InPackets: 0 TC1 Queue[4] OutPackets: 22 Signed-off-by: Mark Starovoytov <mstarovoitov@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Igor Russkikh <irusskikh@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-05-22net: atlantic: changes for multi-TC supportDmitry Bezrukov
This patch contains the following changes: * access cfg via aq_nic_get_cfg() in aq_nic_start() and aq_nic_map_skb(); * call aq_nic_get_dev() just once in aq_nic_map_skb(); * move ring allocation/deallocation out of aq_vec_alloc()/aq_vec_free(); * add the missing aq_nic_deinit() in atl_resume_common(); * rename 'tcs' field to 'tcs_max' in aq_hw_caps_s to differentiate it from the 'tcs' field in aq_nic_cfg_s, which is used for the current number of TCs; * update _TC_MAX defines to the actual number of supported TCs; * move tx_tc_mode register defines slightly higher (just to keep the order of definitions); * separate variables for TX/RX buff_size in hw_atl*_hw_qos_set(); * use AQ_HW_*_TC instead of hardcoded magic numbers; * actually use the 'ret' value in aq_mdo_add_secy(); Signed-off-by: Dmitry Bezrukov <dbezrukov@marvell.com> Co-developed-by: Mark Starovoytov <mstarovoitov@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Starovoytov <mstarovoitov@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Igor Russkikh <irusskikh@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2019-11-13net: atlantic: Signedness bug in aq_vec_isr_legacy()Dan Carpenter
irqreturn_t type is an enum and in this context it's unsigned, so "err" can't be irqreturn_t or it breaks the error handling. In fact the "err" variable is only used to store integers (never irqreturn_t) so it should be declared as int. I removed the initialization because it's not required. Using a bogus initializer turns off GCC's uninitialized variable warnings. Secondly, there is a GCC warning about unused assignments and we would like to enable that feature eventually so we have been trying to remove these unnecessary initializers. 2019-09-27net: aquantia: Fix aq_vec_isr_legacy() return valueDan Carpenter
The irqreturn_t type is an enum or an unsigned int in GCC. That creates to problems because it can't detect if the self->aq_hw_ops->hw_irq_read() call fails and at the end the function always returns IRQ_HANDLED. drivers/net/ethernet/aquantia/atlantic/aq_vec.c:316 aq_vec_isr_legacy() warn: unsigned 'err' is never less than zero. drivers/net/ethernet/aquantia/atlantic/aq_vec.c:329 aq_vec_isr_legacy() warn: always true condition '(err >= 0) => (0-u32max >= 0)' Fixes: 970a2e9864b0 ("net: ethernet: aquantia: Vector operations") Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Reviewed-by: Igor Russkikh <igor.russkikh@aquantia.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2019-08-31net: aquantia: fix out of memory condition on rx sideDmitry Bogdanov
On embedded environments with hard memory limits it is a normal although rare case when skb can't be allocated on rx part under high traffic. In such OOM cases napi_complete_done() was not called. So the napi object became in an invalid state like it is "scheduled". Kernel do not re-schedules the poll of that napi object. Consequently, kernel can not remove that object the system hangs on `ifconfig down` waiting for a poll. We are fixing this by gracefully closing napi poll routine with correct invocation of napi_complete_done. This was reproduced with artificially failing the allocation of skb to simulate an "out of memory" error case and check that traffic does not get stuck. 2019-03-23net: aquantia: optimize rx performance by page reuse strategyIgor Russkikh
We introduce internal aq_rxpage wrapper over regular page where extra field is tracked: rxpage offset inside of allocated page. This offset allows to reuse one page for multiple packets. When needed (for example with large frames processing), allocated pageorder could be customized. This gives even larger page reuse efficiency. page_ref_count is used to track page users. If during rx refill underlying page has users, we increase pg_off by rx frame size thus the top half of the page is reused. 2018-03-22net: aquantia: Add tx clean budget and valid budget handling logicIgor Russkikh
We should report to napi full budget only when we have more job to do. Before this fix, on any tx queue cleanup we forced napi to do poll again. Thats a waste of cpu resources and caused storming with napi polls when there was at least one tx on each interrupt. With this fix we report full budget only when there is more job on TX to do. Or, as before, when rx budget was fully consumed. Signed-off-by: Igor Russkikh <igor.russkikh@aquantia.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2017-09-26aquantia: Fix Tx queue hangupsIgor Russkikh
Driver did a poor job in managing its Tx queues: Sometimes it could stop tx queues due to link down condition in aq_nic_xmit - but never waked up them. That led to Tx path total suspend. This patch fixes this and improves generic queue management: - introduces queue restart counter - uses generic netif_ interface to disable and enable tx path - refactors link up/down condition and introduces dmesg log event when link changes. - introduces new constant for minimum descriptors count required for queue wakeup Signed-off-by: Pavel Belous <Pavel.Belous@aquantia.com> Signed-off-by: Igor Russkikh <igor.russkikh@aquantia.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
