2013-08-30mtd: nand: use dev_get_platdata()Jingoo Han
Use the wrapper function for retrieving the platform data instead of accessing dev->platform_data directly. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <David.Woodhouse@intel.com>
2013-08-05mtd: nand: sharpsl: remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure, since commit 0998d0631001288a5974afc0b2a5f568bcdecb4d (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound). Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. 2012-03-27mtd: flash drivers set ecc strengthMike Dunn
Flash device drivers initialize 'ecc_strength' in struct mtd_info, which is the maximum number of bit errors that can be corrected in one writesize region. Drivers using the nand interface intitialize 'strength' in struct nand_ecc_ctrl, which is the maximum number of bit errors that can be corrected in one ecc step. Nand infrastructure code translates this to 'ecc_strength'. Also for nand drivers, the nand infrastructure code sets ecc.strength for ecc modes NAND_ECC_SOFT, NAND_ECC_SOFT_BCH, and NAND_ECC_NONE. It is set in the driver for all other modes. 2012-03-27mtd: do not use plain 0 as NULLArtem Bityutskiy
The first 3 arguments of 'mtd_device_parse_register()' are pointers, but many callers pass '0' instead of 'NULL'. Fix this globally. Thanks to coccinelle for making it easy to do with the following semantic patch: @@ expression mtd, types, parser_data, parts, nr_parts; @@ ( -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, 0, parser_data, parts, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, NULL, parser_data, parts, nr_parts) | -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, 0, parts, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, NULL, parts, nr_parts) | -mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, parser_data, 0, nr_parts) +mtd_device_parse_register(mtd, types, parser_data, NULL, nr_parts) ) Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <artem.bityutskiy@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <David.Woodhouse@intel.com>
2012-01-09mtd: convert drivers/mtd/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin
This patch converts the drivers in drivers/mtd/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. 2011-09-11mtd: sharpsl.c: use mtd_device_parse_registerDmitry Eremin-Solenikov
Replace custom invocations of parse_mtd_partitions and mtd_device_register with common mtd_device_parse_register call. This would bring: standard handling of all errors, fallback to default partitions, etc. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
2011-09-11mtd: sharpsl don't specify default parsing optionsDmitry Eremin-Solenikov
Since 'cmdline, NULL' is now a default for parse_mtd_partitions, don't specify this in every driver, instead pass NULL to force parse_mtd_partitions to use default. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Artem Bityutskiy <Artem.Bityutskiy@nokia.com>
2011-05-25mtd: sharpsl: convert to mtd_device_register()Jamie Iles

2008-08-07[ARM] Move include/asm-arm/arch-* to arch/arm/*/include/machRussell King
This just leaves include/asm-arm/plat-* to deal with. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-08-07[ARM] Remove asm/hardware.h, use asm/arch/hardware.h insteadRussell King
Remove includes of asm/hardware.h in addition to asm/arch/hardware.h. Then, since asm/hardware.h only exists to include asm/arch/hardware.h, update everything to directly include asm/arch/hardware.h and remove asm/hardware.h. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-06-04MTD/JFFS2: remove CVS keywordsAdrian Bunk
Once upon a time, the MTD repository was using CVS. This patch therefore removes all usages of the no longer updated CVS keywords from the MTD code. This also includes code that printed them to the user. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>

2006-07-15MTD: [NAND] Fix the sharpsl driver after breakage from a core conversionRichard Purdie
The CNE bits are inverted on the device and writeb function is missing a NOT operation. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <rpurdie@rpsys.net> Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-06-29[MTD] NAND: Fix broken sharpsl driverThomas Gleixner

2006-05-29[MTD] NAND Replace oobinfo by ecclayoutThomas Gleixner
The nand_oobinfo structure is not fitting the newer error correction demands anymore. Replace it by struct nand_ecclayout and fixup the users all over the place. Keep the nand_oobinfo based ioctl for user space compability reasons. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-23[MTD] Refactor NAND hwcontrol to cmd_ctrlThomas Gleixner
The hwcontrol function enforced a step by step state machine for any kind of hardware chip access. Let the hardware driver know which control bits are set and inform it about a change of the control lines. Let the hardware driver write out the command and address bytes directly. This gives a peformance advantage for address bus controlled chips and simplifies the quirks in the hardware drivers. Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-23[MTD] NAND modularize ECCThomas Gleixner
First step of modularizing ECC support. - Move ECC related functionality into a seperate embedded data structure - Get rid of the hardware dependend constants to simplify new ECC models Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>
2006-05-16[MTD NAND] Make various initfuncs static, remove #ifdef MODULE from exitfuncsDavid Woodhouse
We all inherited the same error from the original NAND board driver which got copied and changed. Fix them all at once... Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>
2006-05-14[MTD] Fix module refcounting in NAND board drivers.David Woodhouse
The _board_ driver needs to be mtd->owner, and it in turn pins the nand.ko module. Fix them all to actually do that, and fix nand.ko not to overwrite it -- and also to check that the caller sets it, if the caller is a module. Signed-off-by: David Woodhouse <dwmw2@infradead.org>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
