2016-05-02mmc: tmio: merge distributed include filesWolfram Sang
There is no reason to have a public and private header file. Merge them into a private one, so looking up symbols is less confusing. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa+renesas@sang-engineering.com> Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Ulf Hansson <ulf.hansson@linaro.org>
2016-04-04mm, fs: get rid of PAGE_CACHE_* and page_cache_{get,release} macrosKirill A. Shutemov
PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} macros were introduced *long* time ago with promise that one day it will be possible to implement page cache with bigger chunks than PAGE_SIZE. This promise never materialized. And unlikely will. We have many places where PAGE_CACHE_SIZE assumed to be equal to PAGE_SIZE. And it's constant source of confusion on whether PAGE_CACHE_* or PAGE_* constant should be used in a particular case, especially on the border between fs and mm. Global switching to PAGE_CACHE_SIZE != PAGE_SIZE would cause to much breakage to be doable. Let's stop pretending that pages in page cache are special. They are not. The changes are pretty straight-forward: - <foo> << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>; - <foo> >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) -> <foo>; - PAGE_CACHE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN} -> PAGE_{SIZE,SHIFT,MASK,ALIGN}; - page_cache_get() -> get_page(); - page_cache_release() -> put_page(); This patch contains automated changes generated with coccinelle using script below. For some reason, coccinelle doesn't patch header files. I've called spatch for them manually. The only adjustment after coccinelle is revert of changes to PAGE_CAHCE_ALIGN definition: we are going to drop it later. There are few places in the code where coccinelle didn't reach. I'll fix them manually in a separate patch. Comments and documentation also will be addressed with the separate patch. virtual patch @@ expression E; @@ - E << (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) + E @@ expression E; @@ - E >> (PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT) + E @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_SHIFT + PAGE_SHIFT @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_SIZE + PAGE_SIZE @@ @@ - PAGE_CACHE_MASK + PAGE_MASK @@ expression E; @@ - PAGE_CACHE_ALIGN(E) + PAGE_ALIGN(E) @@ expression E; @@ - page_cache_get(E) + get_page(E) @@ expression E; @@ - page_cache_release(E) + put_page(E) Signed-off-by: Kirill A. 2016-02-29mmc: tmio_dma: remove debug messages with little informationWolfram Sang
When compiling the driver with CONFIG_MMC_DEBUG set, I got build warnings. They have been 'fixed' meanwhile. However, because these debug messages look random anyhow (some duplicate information printed etc), let's just drop them and rather re-add something consistent if that should ever be needed. 2016-01-14mmc: tmio_mmc_dma: don't print invalid DMA cookieArnd Bergmann
The tmio_mmc_start_dma_{rx,tx} function functions contain debug code that prints the dma cookie among other things. However, in case we fall back to PIO mode for some reason, the cookie variable is never initialized, and gcc warns about this: In file included from ../include/linux/printk.h:277:0, from ../include/linux/kernel.h:13, from ../include/linux/list.h:8, from ../include/linux/kobject.h:20, from ../include/linux/device.h:17, from ../drivers/mmc/host/tmio_mmc_dma.c:13: ../drivers/mmc/host/tmio_mmc_dma.c: In function 'tmio_mmc_start_dma': ../include/linux/dynamic_debug.h:86:3: warning: 'cookie' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wmaybe-uninitialized] __dynamic_dev_dbg(&descriptor, dev, fmt, \ ^ ../drivers/mmc/host/tmio_mmc_dma.c:128:15: note: 'cookie' was declared here dma_cookie_t cookie; This modifies the dev_dbg() statements so we only print the cookie when we are already in the DMA path. 2015-03-05mmc: tmio: mmc: tmio: tmio_mmc_data has .chan_priv_?xKuninori Morimoto
dma_request_slave_channel_compat() in tmio_mmc_dma needs .chan_priv_tx/.chan_priv_rx. But these are copied from sh_mobile_sdhi only, and sh_mobile_sdhi_info is now almost same as tmio_mmc_data except .chan_priv_?x. sh_mobile_sdhi_info can be replaced to tmio_mmc_data, but it is used from ${LINUX}/arch/arm/mach-shmobile, ${LINUX}/arch/sh. So, this patch adds .chan_priv_?x into tmio_mmc_data as 1st step, and sh_mobile_sdhi driver has dummy operation for now. It will be replaced/removed together with platform data replace. 2013-08-24mmc: tmio_mmc_dma: fix PIO fallback on SDHISergei Shtylyov
I'm testing SH-Mobile SDHI driver in DMA mode with a new DMA controller using 'bonnie++' and getting DMA error after which the tmio_mmc_dma.c code falls back to PIO but all commands time out after that. It turned out that the fallback code calls tmio_mmc_enable_dma() with RX/TX channels already freed and pointers to them cleared, so that the function bails out early instead of clearing the DMA bit in the CTL_DMA_ENABLE register. The regression was introduced by commit 162f43e31c5a376ec16336e5d0ac973373d54c89 (mmc: tmio: fix a deadlock). Moving tmio_mmc_enable_dma() calls to the top of the PIO fallback code in tmio_mmc_start_dma_{rx|tx}() helps. 2013-05-26mmc: sdhi/tmio: make DMA filter implementation specificGuennadi Liakhovetski
So far only the SDHI implementation uses TMIO MMC with DMA. That way a DMA channel filter function, defined in the TMIO driver wasn't a problem. However, such a filter function is DMA controller specific. Since the SDHI glue is only running on systems with the SHDMA DMA controller, the filter function can safely be provided by it. 2011-06-21net: remove mm.h inclusion from netdevice.hAlexey Dobriyan
Remove linux/mm.h inclusion from netdevice.h -- it's unused (I've checked manually). To prevent mm.h inclusion via other channels also extract "enum dma_data_direction" definition into separate header. This tiny piece is what gluing netdevice.h with mm.h via "netdevice.h => dmaengine.h => dma-mapping.h => scatterlist.h => mm.h". Removal of mm.h from scatterlist.h was tried and was found not feasible on most archs, so the link was cutoff earlier. Hope people are OK with tiny include file. Note, that mm_types.h is still dragged in, but it is a separate story. Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2011-03-25mmc: tmio: split core functionality, DMA and MFD glueGuennadi Liakhovetski
TMIO MMC chips contain an SD / SDIO IP core from Panasonic, similar to the one, used in MN5774 and other MN57xx controllers. These IP cores are included in many multifunction devices, in sh-mobile chips from Renesas, in the latter case they can also use DMA. Some sh-mobile implementations also have some other specialities, that MFD-based solutions don't have. This makes supporting all these features in a monolithic driver inconveniet and error-prone. This patch splits the driver into 3 parts: the core, the MFD glue and the DMA support. In case of a modular build, two modules will be built: mmc_tmio_core and mmc_tmio.
