2015-08-11mfd: Drop owner assignment from i2c_driversKrzysztof Kozlowski
i2c_driver does not need to set an owner because i2c_register_driver() will set it. Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <k.kozlowski@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
2014-07-09mfd: aat2870-core: Stop using obsolte simple_strtoul()Lee Jones
Soothes checkpatch warning: WARNING: simple_strtoul is obsolete, use kstrtoul instead #306: FILE: drivers/mfd/aat2870-core.c:306: + addr = simple_strtoul(start, &start, 16); Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>

2013-07-31mfd: Use dev_get_platdata()Jingoo Han
Use the wrapper function for retrieving the platform data instead of accessing dev->platform_data directly. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
2013-06-13mfd: Replace strict_strtoul() with kstrtoul() in ab* and att*Jingoo Han
The usage of strict_strtoul() is not preferred, because strict_strtoul() is obsolete. Thus, kstrtoul() should be used. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Reviewed-by: Andy Shevchenko <andriy.shevchenko@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
2013-04-08mfd: aat2870: Use use devm_*() functionsJingoo Han
Use devm_*() functions to make cleanup paths more simple. Signed-off-by: Jingoo Han <jg1.han@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
2012-09-15mfd: core: Push irqdomain mapping out into devicesMark Brown
Currently the MFD core supports remapping MFD cell interrupts using an irqdomain but only if the MFD is being instantiated using device tree and only if the device tree bindings use the pattern of registering IPs in the device tree with compatible properties. This will be actively harmful for drivers which support non-DT platforms and use this pattern for their DT bindings as it will mean that the core will silently change remapping behaviour and it is also limiting for drivers which don't do DT with this particular pattern. There is also a potential fragility if there are interrupts not associated with MFD cells and all the cells are omitted from the device tree for some reason. Instead change the code to take an IRQ domain as an optional argument, allowing drivers to take the decision about the parent domain for their interrupts. The one current user of this feature is ab8500-core, it has the domain lookup pushed out into the driver. 2012-04-05simple_open: automatically convert to simple_open()Stephen Boyd
Many users of debugfs copy the implementation of default_open() when they want to support a custom read/write function op. This leads to a proliferation of the default_open() implementation across the entire tree. Now that the common implementation has been consolidated into libfs we can replace all the users of this function with simple_open(). This replacement was done with the following semantic patch: <smpl> @ open @ identifier open_f != simple_open; identifier i, f; @@ -int open_f(struct inode *i, struct file *f) -{ ( -if (i->i_private) -f->private_data = i->i_private; | -f->private_data = i->i_private; ) -return 0; -} @ has_open depends on open @ identifier fops; identifier open.open_f; @@ struct file_operations fops = { ... -.open = open_f, +.open = simple_open, ... }; </smpl> [akpm@linux-foundation.org: checkpatch fixes] Signed-off-by: Stephen Boyd <sboyd@codeaurora.org> Cc: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Cc: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> Cc: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Acked-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
