As pointed by Sylvester, this should never happen in practice, as min value of V4L2_CID_GAIN control is 16 (gain is always >= 16 and m is always >= 0), but it is too hard for a static analyzer to get this, as the logic with validates control min/max is elsewhere inside V4L2 core. 2019-08-13media: i2c: Convert to new i2c device probe()Kieran Bingham
The I2C core framework provides a simplified probe framework from commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"). These drivers do not utilise the i2c_device_id table in the probe, so we can easily convert them to utilise the simplified i2c driver registration. Besides, we have a v4l2_dbg() statement that prints an uninitialized value if regmap_read() fails. Adding an 'else' clause avoids the ambiguity. 2018-02-23media: ov9650: support device tree probingAkinobu Mita
The ov9650 driver currently only supports legacy platform data probe. This change adds device tree probing. There has been an attempt to add device tree support for ov9650 driver by Hugues Fruchet as a part of the patchset that adds support of OV9655 camera (http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-media/msg117903.html), but it wasn't merged into mainline because creating a separate driver for OV9655 is preferred. 2017-10-31media: ov9650: remove unnecessary terminated entry in menu items arrayAkinobu Mita
The test_pattern_menu[] array has two valid items and a null terminated item. So the control's maximum value which is passed to v4l2_ctrl_new_std_menu_items() should be one. However, 'ARRAY_SIZE(test_pattern_menu) - 1' is actually passed and it's not correct. Fix it by removing unnecessary terminated entry and let the correct control's maximum value be passed to v4l2_ctrl_new_std_menu_items(). 2016-01-11[media] media framework: rename pads init function to media_entity_pads_init()Mauro Carvalho Chehab
With the MC next gen rework, what's left for media_entity_init() is to just initialize the PADs. However, certain devices, like a FLASH led/light doesn't have any input or output PAD. So, there's no reason why calling media_entity_init() would be mandatory. Also, despite its name, what this function actually does is to initialize the PADs data. So, rename it to media_entity_pads_init() in order to reflect that. The media entity actual init happens during entity register, at media_device_register_entity(). Entities should have one or more functions. Calling it as a type proofed to not be correct, as an entity could eventually have more than one type. So, rename the field as function. Please notice that this patch doesn't extend support for multiple function entities. Such change will happen when we have real case drivers using it. No functional changes. Currently, media_entity_init() creates an array with the links, allocated at init time. It provides a parameter (extra_links) that would allocate more links than the current needs, but this is not used by any driver. As we want to be able to do dynamic link allocation/removal, we'll need to change the implementation of the links. So, before doing that, let's first remove that extra unused parameter, in order to cleanup the interface first. Currently, include/media is messy, as it contains both the V4L2 core headers and some driver-specific headers on the same place. That makes harder to identify what core headers should be documented and what headers belong to I2C drivers that are included only by bridge/main drivers that would require the functions provided by them. Let's move those i2c specific files to its own subdirectory. 2015-03-23[media] v4l2-subdev: replace v4l2_subdev_fh by v4l2_subdev_pad_configHans Verkuil
If a subdevice pad op is called from a bridge driver, then there is no v4l2_subdev_fh struct that can be passed to the subdevice. This made it hard to use such subdevs from a bridge driver. This patch replaces the v4l2_subdev_fh pointer by a v4l2_subdev_pad_config pointer in the pad ops. This allows bridge drivers to use the various try_ pad ops by creating a v4l2_subdev_pad_config struct and passing it along to the pad op. The v4l2_subdev_get_try_* macros had to be changed because of this, so I also took the opportunity to use the full name of the v4l2_subdev_get_try_* functions in the __V4L2_SUBDEV_MK_GET_TRY macro arguments: if you now do 'git grep v4l2_subdev_get_try_format' you will actually find the header where it is defined. One remark regarding the drivers/staging/media/davinci_vpfe patches: the *_init_formats() functions assumed that fh could be NULL. However, that's not true for this driver, it's always set. This is almost certainly a copy and paste from the omap3isp driver. I've updated the code to reflect the fact that fh is never NULL. This patch adds V4L2 sub-device driver for OV9650/OV9652 image sensors. The driver exposes following V4L2 controls: - auto/manual exposure, - auto/manual white balance, - auto/manual gain, - brightness, saturation, sharpness, - horizontal/vertical flip, - color bar test pattern, - banding filter (power line frequency). Frame rate can be configured with g/s_frame_interval pad level ops. Supported resolution are only: SXGA, VGA, QVGA.
