Now that there are no more users kill dev_rebuild_header and all of it's implementations. This is long overdue. Signed-off-by: "Eric W. Biederman" <ebiederm@xmission.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2015-03-02net: Remove iocb argument from sendmsg and recvmsgYing Xue
After TIPC doesn't depend on iocb argument in its internal implementations of sendmsg() and recvmsg() hooks defined in proto structure, no any user is using iocb argument in them at all now. Then we can drop the redundant iocb argument completely from kinds of implementations of both sendmsg() and recvmsg() in the entire networking stack. 2015-02-05Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller
Conflicts: drivers/net/vxlan.c drivers/vhost/net.c include/linux/if_vlan.h net/core/dev.c The net/core/dev.c conflict was the overlap of one commit marking an existing function static whilst another was adding a new function. In the include/linux/if_vlan.h case, the type used for a local variable was changed in 'net', whereas the function got rewritten to fix a stacked vlan bug in 'net-next'. In drivers/vhost/net.c, Al Viro's iov_iter conversions in 'net-next' overlapped with an endainness fix for VHOST 1.0 in 'net'. In drivers/net/vxlan.c, vxlan_find_vni() added a 'flags' parameter in 'net-next' whereas in 'net' there was a bug fix to pass in the correct network namespace pointer in calls to this function. 2015-02-02isdn: off by one in connect_res()Dan Carpenter
The bug here is that we use "Reject" as the index into the cau_t[] array in the else path. Since the cau_t[] has 9 elements if Reject == 9 then we are reading beyond the end of the array. My understanding of the code is that it's saying that if Reject is 1 or too high then that's invalid and we should hang up. 2015-01-13mISDN: avoid arch specific __builtin_return_address callArnd Bergmann
Not all architectures are able to call __builtin_return_address(). On ARM, the mISDN code produces this warning: hardware/mISDN/w6692.c: In function 'w6692_dctrl': hardware/mISDN/w6692.c:1181:75: warning: unsupported argument to '__builtin_return_address' pr_debug("%s: %s dev(%d) open from %p\n", card->name, __func__, ^ hardware/mISDN/mISDNipac.c: In function 'open_dchannel': hardware/mISDN/mISDNipac.c:759:75: warning: unsupported argument to '__builtin_return_address' pr_debug("%s: %s dev(%d) open from %p\n", isac->name, __func__, ^ In a lot of cases, this is relatively easy to work around by passing the value of __builtin_return_address(0) from the callers into the functions that want it. One exception is the indirect 'open' function call in struct isac_hw. While it would be possible to fix this as well, this patch only addresses the other callers properly and lets this one return the direct parent function, which should be good enough. 2015-01-12isdn: fix NUL (\0 or \x00) specification in stringGiel van Schijndel
In C one can either use '\0' or '\x00' (or '\000') to add a NUL byte to a string. '\0x00' isn't part of these and will in fact result in a single NUL followed by "x00". This fixes that. 2014-12-10isdn/gigaset: enable Kernel CAPI support by defaultTilman Schmidt
Kernel CAPI has been the recommended ISDN subsystem for the Gigaset driver since kernel release 2.6.34.2. It provides full backwards compatibility to the old I4L subsystem thanks to the capidrv module. I4L has been marked as deprecated for more than seven years. 2014-11-05net: Add and use skb_copy_datagram_msg() helper.David S. Miller
This encapsulates all of the skb_copy_datagram_iovec() callers with call argument signature "skb, offset, msghdr->msg_iov, length". When we move to iov_iters in the networking, the iov_iter object will sit in the msghdr. Having a helper like this means there will be less places to touch during that transformation. 2014-10-14isdn/gigaset: fix usb_gigaset write_cmd result raceTilman Schmidt
In usb_gigaset function gigaset_write_cmd(), the length field of the command buffer structure could be cleared by the transmit tasklet before it was used for the function's return value. 2014-10-14isdn/capi: don't return NULL from capi_cmd2str()Tilman Schmidt
capi_cmd2str() is used in many places to build log messages. None of them is prepared to handle NULL as a result. Change the function to return printable string "INVALID_COMMAND" instead. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2014-10-14isdn/capi: prevent NULL pointer dereference on invalid CAPI commandTilman Schmidt
An invalid CAPI 2.0 command/subcommand combination may retrieve a NULL pointer from the cpars[] array which will later be dereferenced by the parser routines. Fix by adding NULL pointer checks in strategic places. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2014-10-14isdn/capi: prevent index overrun from command_2_index()Tilman Schmidt
The result of the function command_2_index() is used to index two arrays mnames[] and cpars[] with max. index 0x4e but in its current form that function can produce results up to 3*(0x9+0x9)+0x7f = 0xb5. Fix by clamping all result values potentially overrunning the arrays to zero which is already handled as an invalid value. Re-spotted with Coverity. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-14isdn/capi: correct capi20_manufacturer argument type mismatchTilman Schmidt
Function capi20_manufacturer() is declared with unsigned int cmd argument but called with unsigned long. Fix by correcting the function prototype since the actual argument is part of the user visible API. Spotted with Coverity. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-14isdn/gigaset: fix non-heap pointer deallocationTilman Schmidt
at_state structures may be allocated individually or as part of a cardstate or bc_state structure. The disconnect() function handled both cases, creating a risk that it might try to deallocate an at_state structure that had not been allocated individually. Fix by splitting disconnect() into two variants handling cases with and without an associated B channel separately, and adding an explicit check. Spotted with Coverity. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-14isdn/gigaset: fix NULL pointer dereferenceTilman Schmidt
In do_action, a NULL pointer might be passed to function start_dial which will dereference it. Fix by adding a check for NULL before the call. Spotted with Coverity. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-14isdn/gigaset: limit raw CAPI message dump lengthTilman Schmidt
In dump_rawmsg, the length field from a received data package was used unscrutinized, allowing an attacker to control the size of the allocated buffer and the number of times the output loop iterates. Fix by limiting to a reasonable value. Spotted with Coverity. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-14isdn/gigaset: make sure controller name is null terminatedTilman Schmidt
In gigaset_isdn_regdev, the name field may not have a null terminator if the source string's length is equal to the buffer size. Fix by zero filling the structure and excluding the last byte of the name field from the copy. Spotted with Coverity. Signed-off-by: Tilman Schmidt <tilman@imap.cc> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-14isdn/gigaset: missing break in do_facility_reqTilman Schmidt

Pull networking updates from David Miller: "Most notable changes in here: 1) By far the biggest accomplishment, thanks to a large range of contributors, is the addition of multi-send for transmit. This is the result of discussions back in Chicago, and the hard work of several individuals. Now, when the ->ndo_start_xmit() method of a driver sees skb->xmit_more as true, it can choose to defer the doorbell telling the driver to start processing the new TX queue entires. skb->xmit_more means that the generic networking is guaranteed to call the driver immediately with another SKB to send. There is logic added to the qdisc layer to dequeue multiple packets at a time, and the handling mis-predicted offloads in software is now done with no locks held. Finally, pktgen is extended to have a "burst" parameter that can be used to test a multi-send implementation. Several drivers have xmit_more support: i40e, igb, ixgbe, mlx4, virtio_net Adding support is almost trivial, so export more drivers to support this optimization soon. I want to thank, in no particular or implied order, Jesper Dangaard Brouer, Eric Dumazet, Alexander Duyck, Tom Herbert, Jamal Hadi Salim, John Fastabend, Florian Westphal, Daniel Borkmann, David Tat, Hannes Frederic Sowa, and Rusty Russell. 2) PTP and timestamping support in bnx2x, from Michal Kalderon. 3) Allow adjusting the rx_copybreak threshold for a driver via ethtool, and add rx_copybreak support to enic driver. From Govindarajulu Varadarajan. 4) Significant enhancements to the generic PHY layer and the bcm7xxx driver in particular (EEE support, auto power down, etc.) from Florian Fainelli. 5) Allow raw buffers to be used for flow dissection, allowing drivers to determine the optimal "linear pull" size for devices that DMA into pools of pages. The objective is to get exactly the necessary amount of headers into the linear SKB area pre-pulled, but no more. The new interface drivers use is eth_get_headlen(). From WANG Cong, with driver conversions (several had their own by-hand duplicated implementations) by Alexander Duyck and Eric Dumazet. 6) Support checksumming more smoothly and efficiently for encapsulations, and add "foo over UDP" facility. From Tom Herbert. 7) Add Broadcom SF2 switch driver to DSA layer, from Florian Fainelli. 8) eBPF now can load programs via a system call and has an extensive testsuite. Alexei Starovoitov and Daniel Borkmann. 9) Major overhaul of the packet scheduler to use RCU in several major areas such as the classifiers and rate estimators. From John Fastabend. 10) Add driver for Intel FM10000 Ethernet Switch, from Alexander Duyck. 11) Rearrange TCP_SKB_CB() to reduce cache line misses, from Eric Dumazet. 12) Add Datacenter TCP congestion control algorithm support, From Florian Westphal. 13) Reorganize sk_buff so that __copy_skb_header() is significantly faster. 2014-07-31ISDN: pcbit: off by one bugs in pcbit_set_msn()Dan Carpenter
1) We don't allocate enough space for the NUL terminator so we end up corrupting one character beyond the end of the buffer. 2) The "len - 1" should just be "len". The code is trying to copy a word from a buffer up to a comma or the last word in the buffer. Say you have the buffer, "foo, bar, baz", then this code truncates the last letter off each word so you get "fo", "ba", and "ba". You would hope this kind of bug would get noticed in testing... I'm not very familiar with this code and I can't test it, but I think we should copy the final character. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
