2009-01-04ieee1394: mark all hpsb_address_ops instances as constStefan Richter
These are never modified. Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de>
2009-01-04ieee1394: replace a GFP_ATOMIC by GFP_KERNEL allocationStefan Richter
All callers of hpsb_register_addrspace() can sleep. Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de>
2008-11-29ieee1394: fix list corruption (reported at module removal)Stefan Richter
If there is more than one FireWire controller present, dummy_zero_addr and dummy_max_addr were added multiple times to different lists, thus corrupting the lists. Fix this by allocating them dynamically per host instead of just once globally. (Perhaps a better address space allocation algorithm could rid us of the two dummy address spaces.) Fixes http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10129 . Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de>
2008-07-14ieee1394: video1394: reorder module init, prepare BKL removalStefan Richter
This prepares video1394 for removal of the BKL (big kernel lock): It allows video1394_open() to be called while video1394_init_module() is still in progress. Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de>
2008-04-18ieee1394: replace remaining __FUNCTION__ occurrencesHarvey Harrison
__FUNCTION__ is gcc-specific, use __func__ Signed-off-by: Harvey Harrison <harvey.harrison@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de>
2007-07-10ieee1394: remove old isochronous ABIStefan Richter
Based on patch "the scheduled removal of RAW1394_REQ_ISO_{SEND,LISTEN}" from Adrian Bunk, November 20 2006. This patch also removes the underlying facilities in ohci1394 and disables them in pcilynx. That is, hpsb_host_driver.devctl() and hpsb_host_driver.transmit_packet() are no longer used for iso reception and transmission. Since video1394 and dv1394 only work with ohci1394 and raw1394's rawiso interface has never been implemented in pcilynx, pcilynx is now no longer useful for isochronous applications. raw1394 will still handle the request types but will complete the requests with errors that indicate API version conflicts. 2007-04-30ieee1394: move some comments from declaration to definitionStefan Richter

2006-06-12ieee1394: adjust code formatting in highlevel.cBen Collins
Replace spaces by tabulators, wrap lines at 80 columns, delete some blank lines and superfluous braces. Collapse some if()-within-if() constructs. Replace a literal CSR address by its preprocessor constant. Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de> Signed-off-by: Ben Collins <bcollins@ubuntu.com>
2006-06-12ieee1394: hl_irqs_lock is taken in hardware interrupt contextBen Collins
ohci1394 and pcilynx call highlevel_host_reset from their hardware interrupt handler (via hpsb_selfid_complete). Therefore all readers and writers of hl_irqs_lock have to disable interrupts. Reported by Jiri Slaby and J. A. Magallon. Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de> Signed-off-by: Ben Collins <bcollins@ubuntu.com>
2006-06-12ieee1394: add preprocessor constant for invalid csr addressBen Collins
Replace occurrences of the magic value ~(u64)0 for invalid CSR address spaces by a named constant for better readability. Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de> Signed-off-by: Ben Collins <bcollins@ubuntu.com>
2006-06-12ieee1394: extend lowlevel API for address range propertiesBen Collins
Host adapter hardware imposes certain restrictions and features on address ranges. Instead of hard-wire such ranges into the ieee1394 core or even into protocol drivers, let lowlevel drivers specify these ranges via struct hpsb_host. Patch "ohci1394: set address range properties" must be applied too, else hpsb_allocate_and_register_addrspace() won't work properly. 2006-03-26[PATCH] bitops: hweight() related cleanupAkinobu Mita
By defining generic hweight*() routines - hweight64() will be defined on all architectures - hweight_long() will use architecture optimized hweight32() or hweight64() I found two possible cleanups by these reasons. 2005-11-07kmalloc/kzalloc changes:Stefan Richter
dv1394, eth1394, ieee1394, ohci1394, pcilynx, raw1394, sbp2c, video1394: - use kzalloc - provide safer size arguments to kmalloc and kzalloc - omit some casts Signed-off-by: Stefan Richter <stefanr@s5r6.in-berlin.de> Signed-off-by: Jody McIntyre <scjody@modernduck.com>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
