Convert string compares of DT node names to use of_node_name_eq helper instead. This removes direct access to the node name pointer. Cc: "David S. Pull in v4.20-rc6 to resolve the conflict in NVMe, but also to get the two corruption fixes. We're going to be overhauling the direct dispatch path, and we need to do that on top of the changes we made for that in mainline. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>

2018-11-15ide: clear ide_req()->special for non-passthrough requestsJens Axboe
The initial patch cleared this for all requests, which is wrong since internal uses can't have this cleared as that's what they are using to pass data. The fix moved the initialization to the mq_ops->initialize_rq_fn(), but that's only a partial fix since it only catches uses from blk_get_request(), not requests coming from the file system. Keep the non-fs initialization, and add the IDE entry clear IFF RQF_DONTPREP isn't set and it's a passthrough request. 2018-11-12ide: don't clear special on ide_queue_rq() entryJens Axboe
We can't use RQF_DONTPREP to see if we should clear ->special, as someone could have set that while inserting the request. Make sure we clear it in our ->initialize_rq_fn() helper instead. Fixes: 22ce0a7ccf23 ("ide: don't use req->special") Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>

ide_pio_bytes() disables interrupts around kmap_atomic(). This is a leftover from the old kmap_atomic() implementation which relied on fixed mapping slots, so the caller had to make sure that the same slot could not be reused from an interrupting context. kmap_atomic() was changed to dynamic slots long ago and commit 1ec9c5ddc17a ("include/linux/highmem.h: remove the second argument of k[un]map_atomic()") removed the slot assignements, but the callers were not checked for now redundant interrupt disabling. 2018-06-05ide: Handle irq disabling consistentlySebastian Andrzej Siewior
ide_timer_expiry() disables interrupt at function entry when acquiring hwif->lock. Before disabling the device interrupt it unlocks hwif->lock, but interrupts stay disabled. After the call to disable_irq() interrupts are disabled again, which is a pointless exercise. After the device irq handler has been invoked with interrupts disabled, hwif->lock is acquired again with spin_lock_irq() because the device irq handler might have reenabled interrupts. This is not documented and confusing for the casual reader. Remove the redundant local_irq_disable() and add a comment which explains why hwif->lock has to be reacquired with spin_lock_irq(). 2018-03-17block: Move SECTOR_SIZE and SECTOR_SHIFT definitions into <linux/blkdev.h>Bart Van Assche
It happens often while I'm preparing a patch for a block driver that I'm wondering: is a definition of SECTOR_SIZE and/or SECTOR_SHIFT available for this driver? Do I have to introduce definitions of these constants before I can use these constants? To avoid this confusion, move the existing definitions of SECTOR_SIZE and SECTOR_SHIFT into the <linux/blkdev.h> header file such that these become available for all block drivers. Make the SECTOR_SIZE definition in the uapi msdos_fs.h header file conditional to avoid that including that header file after <linux/blkdev.h> causes the compiler to complain about a SECTOR_SIZE redefinition. Note: the SECTOR_SIZE / SECTOR_SHIFT / SECTOR_BITS definitions have not been removed from uapi header files nor from NAND drivers in which these constants are used for another purpose than converting block layer offsets and sizes into a number of sectors. 2018-03-11leds: Extends disk trigger for reads and writesLinus Walleij
This adds two new disk triggers for triggering on reads and writes respectively, named "disk-read" and "disk-write". The use case comes from working on the D-Link DNS-313 NAS box. This features an RGB LED for disk activity. with these two triggers I can couple the green LED to read activity and the red LED to write activity, which gives the appropriate user feedback about what is happening on the disk. When tested it gave exactly the feedback desired. The in-kernel interface is simply changed to pass a bool indicating if the activity is write activity and update each trigger (and the composite "disk-activity" trigger) depending on what is passed in. Pull more block layer updates from Jens Axboe: "A followup pull request, with some parts that either needed a bit more testing before going in, merge sync, or just later arriving fixes. This contains: - Timer related updates from Kees. These were purposefully delayed since I didn't want to pull in a later v4.14-rc tag to my block tree. - ide-cd prep sense buffer fix from Bart. Also delayed, as not to clash with the late fix we put into 4.14-rc. - Small BFQ updates series from Luca and Paolo. - Single nvmet fix from James, fixing a non-functional case there. - Bio fast clone fix from Michael, which made bcache return the wrong data for some cases. - Legacy IO path regression hang fix from Ming" * 'for-linus' of git://git.kernel.dk/linux-block: bio: ensure __bio_clone_fast copies bi_partno nvmet_fc: fix better length checking block: wake up all tasks blocked in get_request() block, bfq: move debug blkio stats behind CONFIG_DEBUG_BLK_CGROUP block, bfq: update blkio stats outside the scheduler lock block, bfq: add missing invocations of bfqg_stats_update_io_add/remove doc, block, bfq: update max IOPS sustainable with BFQ ide: Make ide_cdrom_prep_fs() initialize the sense buffer pointer md: Convert timers to use timer_setup() block: swim3: Convert timers to use timer_setup() block/aoe: Convert timers to use timer_setup() amifloppy: Convert timers to use timer_setup() block/floppy: Convert callback to pass timer_list
