2021-03-26gpu/xen: Fix a use after free in xen_drm_drv_initLv Yunlong
In function displback_changed, has the call chain displback_connect(front_info)->xen_drm_drv_init(front_info). We can see that drm_info is assigned to front_info->drm_info and drm_info is freed in fail branch in xen_drm_drv_init(). Later displback_disconnect(front_info) is called and it calls xen_drm_drv_fini(front_info) cause a use after free by drm_info = front_info->drm_info statement. My patch has done two things. First fixes the fail label which drm_info = kzalloc() failed and still free the drm_info. Second sets front_info->drm_info to NULL to avoid uaf. By having selected DRM_XEN, I was assuming I would build the frontend driver. As it turns out this is a dummy option, and I have really not been building this (because I had DRM disabled). Make it a promptless one, moving the "depends on" to the other, real option, and "select"ing the dummy one. 2021-02-23drm/gem: Move drm_gem_fb_prepare_fb() to GEM atomic helpersThomas Zimmermann
The function drm_gem_fb_prepare_fb() is a helper for atomic modesetting, but currently located next to framebuffer helpers. Move it to GEM atomic helpers, rename it slightly and adopt the drivers. Same for the rsp simple-pipe helper. Compile-tested with x86-64, aarch64 and arm. 2020-11-09drm/gem: Use struct dma_buf_map in GEM vmap ops and convert GEM backendsThomas Zimmermann
This patch replaces the vmap/vunmap's use of raw pointers in GEM object functions with instances of struct dma_buf_map. GEM backends are converted as well. For most of them, this simply changes the returned type. TTM-based drivers now return information about the location of the memory, either system or I/O memory. GEM VRAM helpers and qxl now use ttm_bo_vmap() et al. Only the following drivers aren't converted: - amdgpu, because of the driver_feature mangling due to virt support. Subsequent patch will address this. - nouveau, because DRIVER_ATOMIC uapi is still not the default on the platforms where it's supported (i.e. again driver_feature mangling) - vc4, again because of driver_feature mangling - qxl, because the ioctl table is somewhere else and moving that is maybe a bit too much, hence the num_ioctls assignment prevents a const driver structure. - arcpgu, because that is stuck behind a pending tiny-fication series from me. - legacy drivers, because legacy requires non-const drm_driver. Note that for armada I also went ahead and made the ioctl array const. 2020-09-10drm: xen: fix common struct sg_table related issuesMarek Szyprowski
The Documentation/DMA-API-HOWTO.txt states that the dma_map_sg() function returns the number of the created entries in the DMA address space. However the subsequent calls to the dma_sync_sg_for_{device,cpu}() and dma_unmap_sg must be called with the original number of the entries passed to the dma_map_sg(). struct sg_table is a common structure used for describing a non-contiguous memory buffer, used commonly in the DRM and graphics subsystems. It consists of a scatterlist with memory pages and DMA addresses (sgl entry), as well as the number of scatterlist entries: CPU pages (orig_nents entry) and DMA mapped pages (nents entry). It turned out that it was a common mistake to misuse nents and orig_nents entries, calling DMA-mapping functions with a wrong number of entries or ignoring the number of mapped entries returned by the dma_map_sg() function. Fix the code to refer to proper nents or orig_nents entries. This driver reports the number of the pages in the imported scatterlist, so it should refer to sg_table->orig_nents entry. This fixes virtio-gpu with sev. To be used in order to create foreign mappings. This is based on the ZONE_DEVICE facility which is used by persistent memory devices in order to create struct pages and kernel virtual mappings for the IOMEM areas of such devices. Note that on kernels without support for ZONE_DEVICE Xen will fallback to use ballooned pages in order to create foreign mappings. The newly added helpers use the same parameters as the existing {alloc/free}_xenballooned_pages functions, which allows for in-place replacement of the callers. Once a memory region has been added to be used as scratch mapping space it will no longer be released, and pages returned are kept in a linked list. This allows to have a buffer of pages and prevents resorting to frequent additions and removals of regions. If enabled (because ZONE_DEVICE is supported) the usage of the new functionality untangles Xen balloon and RAM hotplug from the usage of unpopulated physical memory ranges to map foreign pages, which is the correct thing to do in order to avoid mappings of foreign pages depend on memory hotplug. Note the driver is currently not enabled on Arm platforms because it would interfere with the identity mapping required on some platforms. I also did a full review of all callers, and only the xen driver forgot to call drm_dev_put in the failure path. Fix that up too. v2: I noticed that xen has a drm_driver.release hook, and uses drm_dev_alloc(). The current code is a pretty good wtf moment, since we drop the reference before we use it. It's not a big deal, because a) we only use the pointer, so doesn't blow up and the real reason b) fb->obj[0] already holds a full reference for us. Might as well take the real pointer ins't of complicated games that baffle. As the removed comments say, these aren't DT based devices. of_dma_configure() is going to stop allowing a NULL DT node and calling it will no longer work. The comment is also now out of date as of commit 9ab91e7c5c51 ("arm64: default to the direct mapping in get_arch_dma_ops"). Direct mapping is now the default rather than dma_dummy_ops. According to Stefano and Oleksandr, the only other part needed is setting the DMA masks and there's no reason to restrict the masks to 32-bits. So set the masks to 64 bits. Static structure fb_funcs, of type drm_framebuffer_funcs, is used only when it is passed to drm_gem_fb_create_with_funcs() as its last argument. drm_gem_fb_create_with_funcs does not modify its lst argument (fb_funcs) and hence fb_funcs is never modified. Therefore make fb_funcs constant to protect it from further modification. Issue found with Coccinelle. Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is confusing. Split them out. To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of drm_crtc_helper.h includes. v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1. v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means rolling out lots more includes all over. This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I expect. v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs. v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits: - (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged). - sort alphabetically v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I touch. v6: Rebase onto i915 changes. v7: Rebase once more. Building for a 32-bit target results in warnings from casting between a 32-bit pointer and a 64-bit integer. Fix the warnings by casting those pointers to uintptr_t first.
