- Usermode Events
The current events code implemented some data structures (waitqueue, fifo)
that were already implemented in the kernel. The patches below addresses
this issue by replacing them with the standard kernel implementation.
In addition, they simplify allocation of events IDs and memory for the events.
The patches also increase the maximum number of events while maintaining
compatibility with the older userspace library.
- Remove radeon support
Because Kaveri is fully supported in amdgpu and because current and future
versions of userspace libraries will only support amdgpu, we removed radeon
support from kfd. Current users can move to amdgpu while using the same
userspace libraries.

The function for byteswapping the data send to/from atombios was buggy for
num_bytes not divisible by four. The function must be aware of the fact
that after byte-swapping the u32 units, valid bytes might end up after the
num_bytes boundary.
This patch was tested on kernel 3.12 and allowed us to sucesfully use
DisplayPort on and Radeon SI card. Namely it fixed the link training and
EDID readout.
The function is patched both in radeon and amd drivers, since the functions
and the fixes are identical.

The structure returned from r600_audio_status() is only partially
initialized, and older gcc versions (4.3 and 4.4) warn about this:

This is harmless and surprisingly correct in C99, as the caller
only accesses the fields that got initialized, so newer compilers
don't warn about it, but initializing the entire structure feels
like the right thing to do here and avoids the warning.

Fixes crash when trying to unload the radeon module before the fbdev
framebuffer was initialized, which can happen since the DRM fbdev helper

Allow interval trees to quickly check for overlaps to avoid unnecesary
tree lookups in interval_tree_iter_first().
As of this patch, all interval tree flavors will require using a
'rb_root_cached' such that we can have the leftmost node easily
available. While most users will make use of this feature, those with
special functions (in addition to the generic insert, delete, search
calls) will avoid using the cached option as they can do funky things
with insertions -- for example, vma_interval_tree_insert_after().

The header comment in include/trace/define_trace.h specifies that the
TRACE_INCLUDE_PATH needs to be relative to the define_trace.h header
rather than the trace file including it. Most instances get that wrong
and work around it by adding the $(src) directory to the include path.
While this works, it is preferable to refer to the correct path to the
trace file in the first place and avoid any workaround.

drm_*_reference() and drm_*_unreference() functions are just
compatibility alias for drm_*_get() and drm_*_put() adn should not be
used by new code. So convert all users of compatibility functions to use
the new APIs.

The redundant fb helpers .load_lut, .gamma_set and .gamma_get are
no longer used. Remove the dead code and hook up the crtc .gamma_set
to use the crtc gamma_store directly instead of duplicating that
info locally.

- FBINFO_CAN_FORCE_OUTPUT has been a lie ever since we nerfed&removed
the entire panic handling code in our fbdev emulation. We might
restore kms panic output, but not through the bazillion of legacy
code layers called fbdev/fbcon, there's just no way to make that
work safely.
- With the module check change FBINFO_DEFAULT is always 0, so can be
removed too.
That removes another change to cargo-cult stuff in kms drivers, yay!

The radeon driver reduces the framebuffer resolution to 8bpp if a
device with less than 32MB VRAM is found. This causes the framebuffer
to run in 8 bit paletted mode. For a text console this is not an
issue as 256 different colors is more than one gets on a VGA text
console. However this leads to a poor 8bit pseudo-color visual when
running X on fbdev, too, which is quite ugly.
In this patch, we try to give some moderate compromise: limit the
framebuffer bpp to 8 only when VRAM is 8MB or less, and use 16 bpp
otherwise for 32MB or less VRAM.

HDMI 1.4b support the CEA video modes as per range of CEA-861-D (VIC 1-64).
For any other mode, the VIC filed in AVI infoframes should be 0.
HDMI 2.0 sinks, support video modes range as per CEA-861-F spec, which is
extended to (VIC 1-107).
This patch adds a bool input variable, which indicates if the connected
sink is a HDMI 2.0 sink or not. This will make sure that we don't pass a
HDMI 2.0 VIC to a HDMI 1.4 sink.
This patch touches all drm drivers, who are callers of this function
drm_hdmi_avi_infoframe_from_display_mode but to make sure there is
no change in current behavior, is_hdmi2 is kept as false.
In case of I915 driver, this patch:
- checks if the connected display is HDMI 2.0.
- HDMI infoframes carry one of this two type of information:
- VIC for 4K modes for HDMI 1.4 sinks
- S3D information for S3D modes
As CEA-861-F has already defined VICs for 4K videomodes, this
patch doesn't allow sending HDMI infoframes for HDMI 2.0 sinks,
until the mode is 3D.

drm_prop_enum_lists are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions
working with drm_prop_enum_list provided by <drm/drm_property.h> work with
const drm_prop_enum_list. So mark the non-const structs as const.

With instantaneous high precision vblank timestamping
that updates at leading edge of vblank, a cooked hw
vblank counter which increments at leading edge of
vblank, and reliable page flip execution and completion
at leading edge of vblank, we should meet the requirements
for fast/immediate vblank irq disable/enable.
Testing on Linux-4.12-rc5 + drm-next on a Radeon HD 5770
(DCE 4) with timing measurement equipment indicates this
works fine, so allow immediate vblank disable for power
saving.
For debugging in case of unexpected trouble, booting
with kernel cmdline option drm.vblankoffdelay=0
(or echo 0 > /sys/module/drm/parameters/vblankoffdelay)
would keep vblank irqs permanently on to approximate old
behavior.

The late 2009, 27 inch Apple iMac10,1 has an
internal eDP display and an external Mini-
Displayport output, driven by a DCE-3.2, RV730
Radeon Mobility HD-4670.
The machine worked fine in a dual-display setup
with eDP panel + externally connected HDMI
or DVI-D digital display sink, connected via
MiniDP to DVI or HDMI adapter.
However, booting the machine single-display with
only eDP panel results in a completely black
display - even backlight powering off, as soon as
the radeon modesetting driver loads.
This patch fixes the single dispay eDP case by
assigning encoders based on dig->linkb, similar
to DCE-4+. While this should not be generally
necessary (Alex: "...atom on normal boards
should be able to handle any mapping."), Apple
seems to use some special routing here.
One remaining problem not solved by this patch
is that an external Minidisplayport->DP sink
does still not work on iMac10,1, whereas external
DVI and HDMI sinks continue to work.
The problem affects at least all tested kernels
since Linux 3.13 - didn't test earlier kernels, so
backporting to stable probably makes sense.
v2: With the original patch from 2016, Alex was worried it
will break other DCE3.2 systems. Use dmi_match() to
apply this special encoder assignment only for the
Apple iMac 10,1 from late 2009.

The PCI Power Management Spec, r1.2, sec 5.6.1, requires a 10 millisecond
delay when powering on a device, i.e., transitioning from state D3hot to
D0.
Apparently some devices require more time, and d1f9809ed131 ("drm/radeon:
add quirk for d3 delay during switcheroo poweron for apple macbooks") added
an additional delay for the Radeon device in a MacBook Pro. 4807c5a8a0c8
("drm/radeon: add a PX quirk list") made the affected device more explicit.
Add a generic PCI quirk to increase the d3_delay. This means we will use
the additional delay for *all* wakeups from D3, not just those initiated by
radeon_switcheroo_set_state().
