It's dead code, the core handles all this directly now. The only special case is nouveau and tda988x which used one function for both legacy modeset code and -nv50 atomic world instead of 2 vtables. 2017-08-01drm: Plumb modifiers through plane initBen Widawsky
This is the plumbing for supporting fb modifiers on planes. Modifiers have already been introduced to some extent, but this series will extend this to allow querying modifiers per plane. Based on this, the client to enable optimal modifications for framebuffers. 2017-07-17drm/imx: parallel-display: Accept drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge failurePhilipp Zabel
The parallel panel driver should continue to work without having an endpoint linking to an panel in DT for backwards compatibility. With the recent switch to drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge, an absent panel results in a failure with -ENODEV error return code. To restore the old behaviour, ignore the -ENODEV return code. 2017-07-17drm/imx: lock scanout transfers for consecutive burstsPhilipp Zabel
Because of its shallow queues and limited reordering ability, the i.MX6Q memory controller likes AXI bursts of consecutive addresses a lot. To optimize memory access performance, lock the IPU scanout channels for a number of burst accesses each, before switching to the next channel. The burst size and length of a locked burst chain are chosen not to overshoot the stride. Enabling the 8-burst channel lock on a single 1920x1080@60Hz RGBx scanout (474 MiB/s of 64-byte IPU memory read accesses) reduces the reported memory controller busy cycles from 46% to below 28% on an otherwise idle i.MX6Q. 2017-06-05drm/bridge/synopsys: dw-hdmi: Use bridge->mode_valid() callbackJose Abreu
Now that we have a callback to check if bridge supports a given mode we can use it in Synopsys Designware HDMI bridge so that we restrict the number of probbed modes to the ones we can actually display. Also, there is no need to use mode_fixup() callback as mode_valid() will handle the mode validation. 2017-05-22drm: Add DRM_MODE_ROTATE_ and DRM_MODE_REFLECT_ to UAPIRobert Foss
Add DRM_MODE_ROTATE_ and DRM_MODE_REFLECT_ defines to the UAPI as a convenience. 2017-03-15drm/imx: add deferred plane disablingPhilipp Zabel
The DP (display processor) channel disable code tried to busy wait for the DP sync flow end interrupt status bit when disabling the partial plane without a full modeset. That never worked reliably, and it was disabled completely by the recent "gpu: ipu-v3: remove IRQ dance on DC channel disable" patch, causing ipu_wait_interrupt to always time out after 50 ms, which in turn would trigger a timeout in drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks. This patch changes ipu_plane_atomic_disable to only queue a DP channel register update at the next frame boundary and set a flag, which can be done without any waiting whatsoever. The imx_drm_atomic_commit_tail then calls a new ipu_plane_disable_deferred function that does the actual IDMAC teardown of the planes that are flagged for deferred disabling, after waiting for the vblank. With the vblank hooks in struct drm_crtc_funcs, we do not need to maintain the CRTC specific vblank callbacks with struct imx_drm_crtc_helper_funcs any more. By moving the stuff that we currently do in imx_drm_add_crtc(), like of_node setting and drm_crtc_helper_add()/drm_crtc_init_with_planes() invoking, we can kill things like struct imx_drm_crtc, imx_drm_crtc_helper_funcs and related functions completely.
