2017-10-11drm/i915: Move rps.hw_lock to dev_priv and s/hw_lock/pcu_lockSagar Arun Kamble
In order to separate GT PM related functionality into new structure we are updating rps structure. hw_lock in it is used for display related PCU communication too hence move it to dev_priv. 2017-02-27drm/i915: Distinguish between timeout and error in sideband transactionsChris Wilson
After initiating a sideband transaction, we only want to wait for the transaction to become idle. If, as we are, we wait for both the busy and error flag to clear, if an error is raised we just spin until the timeout. Once the hw is idle, we can then check to see if the hw flagged an error, and report it distinctly. 2015-02-09drm/i915: Correct the IOSF Dev_FN field for IOSF transfersShobhit Kumar
As per the specififcation, the SB_DevFn is the PCI_DEVFN of the target device and not the source. So PCI_DEVFN(2,0) is not correct. Further the port ID should be enough to identify devices unless they are MFD. The SB_DevFn was intended to remove ambiguity in case of these MFD devices. For non MFD devices the recommendation for the target device IP was to ignore these fields, but not all of them followed the recommendation. Some like CCK ignore these fields and hence PCI_DEVFN(2, 0) works and so does PCI_DEVFN(0, 0) as it works for DPIO. The issue came to light because of GPIONC which was not getting programmed correctly with PCI_DEVFN(2, 0). It turned out that this did not follow the recommendation and expected 0 in this field. In general the recommendation is to use SB_DevFn as PCI_DEVFN(0, 0) for all devices except target PCI devices. 2014-05-19drm/i915: vlv/chv: fix DSI sideband register accessingImre Deak
So far we used the wrong opcodes to access the DSI registers, so the register writes during DSI programming didn't actually succeed and left the registers unchanged. This wasn't a problem for the initial modeset, where the BIOS-programmed values happened to work, but after resuming from s0ix these registers are reset and failing to program them results in a blank screen. 2014-04-03drm/i915: Warn when DPIO read returns 0xffffffffVille Syrjälä

2013-05-23drm/i915: refactor VLV IOSF sideband accessors to use one helperJani Nikula
Both the intel_dpio_{read,write} and valleyview_{punit,nc}_{read,write} use the IOSF sideband interface. They access the same registers and do mostly the same stuff, but no shared code. There are even duplicate register defines for the same registers. Both have locking, but the former use dpio_lock and the latter rps.hw_lock. It's racy. This patch refactors the sideband access to a single function that expects dpio_lock to be held. The dpio_lock is only used for sideband stuff, so it's a better match than rps.hw_lock for the purpose. The rps stuff still needs rps.hw_lock, since it's used to protect more than just the register access, so rps code will need to hold both locks.
