Pull slave-dmaengine updates from Vinod Koul: "This is fairly big pull by my standards as I had missed last merge window. So we have the support for device tree for slave-dmaengine, large updates to dw_dmac driver from Andy for reusing on different architectures. Along with this we have fixes on bunch of the drivers" Fix up trivial conflicts, usually due to #include line movement next to each other. * 'next' of git://git.infradead.org/users/vkoul/slave-dma: (111 commits) Revert "ARM: SPEAr13xx: Pass DW DMAC platform data from DT" ARM: dts: pl330: Add #dma-cells for generic dma binding support DMA: PL330: Register the DMA controller with the generic DMA helpers DMA: PL330: Add xlate function DMA: PL330: Add new pl330 filter for DT case. dma: tegra20-apb-dma: remove unnecessary assignment edma: do not waste memory for dma_mask dma: coh901318: set residue only if dma is in progress dma: coh901318: avoid unbalanced locking dmaengine.h: remove redundant else keyword dma: of-dma: protect list write operation by spin_lock dmaengine: ste_dma40: do not remove descriptors for cyclic transfers dma: of-dma.c: fix memory leakage dw_dmac: apply default dma_mask if needed dmaengine: ioat - fix spare sparse complain dmaengine: move drivers/of/dma.c -> drivers/dma/of-dma.c ioatdma: fix race between updating ioat->head and IOAT_COMPLETION_PENDING dw_dmac: add support for Lynxpoint DMA controllers dw_dmac: return proper residue value dw_dmac: fill individual length of descriptor ...

2013-01-07dma: coh901318: merge header filesLinus Walleij
We do not need two header files for the two parts of the driver to talk to each other so merge them into one. Acked-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-01-07dma: coh901318: push definitions into driverLinus Walleij
Move everything in the header file that is not used in both the main driver and the LLI portions into the driver, including register definitions and such. Acked-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-01-07dma: coh901318: push header down into the DMA subsystemLinus Walleij
The defines in U300's <mach/coh901318.h> are now only used by the DMA engine driver itself, so move the header down into the DMA subsystem. Acked-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2012-05-11dmaengine: Use sg_dma_address instead of sg_physLars-Peter Clausen
dmaengine drivers should always use sg_dma_address instead of sg_phys to get the addresses for the transfer from a sg element. To quote Russel King: sg_phys(sg) of course has nothing to do with DMA addresses. It's the physical address _to the CPU_ of the memory associated with the scatterlist entry. That may, or may not have the same value for the DMA engine, particularly if IOMMUs are involved. And if these drivers are used on ARM, they must be fixed, sooner rather than later. There's patches in the works which will mean we will end up with IOMMU support in the DMA mapping later, which means everything I've said above will become reality. The patch has been generated using the following coccinelle patch: <smpl> @@ struct scatterlist *sg; @@ -sg_phys(sg) +sg_dma_address(sg) </smpl> Signed-off-by: Lars-Peter Clausen <lars@metafoo.de> Acked-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Vinod Koul <vinod.koul@linux.intel.com>

2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. 2010-03-02DMAENGINE: COH 901 318 lli sg offset fixLinus Walleij
This makes the COH 901 318 respect the scatter offset field by using the sg_phys() rather than the sg_dma_address() so we get a pointer to the actual data we want to send rather than the beginning of the buffer. Also initialize the lli:s a bit more thoroughly. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@stericsson.com> Signed-off-by: Dan Williams <dan.j.williams@intel.com>
2010-03-02DMAENGINE: COH 901 318 remove irq countingLinus Walleij
This removes the pointless irq counting for the COH 901 318, as it turns out the hardware will only ever fire one IRQ for a linked list anyway. In the process also a missing spinlock was introduced. 2009-11-19Add COH 901 318 DMA block driver v5Linus Walleij
This patch adds support for the ST-Ericsson COH 901 318 DMA block, found in the U300 series platforms. It registers a DMA slave for device I/O and also a memcpy slave for memcpy.
