2019-05-21treewide: Add SPDX license identifier for more missed filesThomas Gleixner
Add SPDX license identifiers to all files which: - Have no license information of any form - Have MODULE_LICENCE("GPL*") inside which was used in the initial scan/conversion to ignore the file These files fall under the project license, GPL v2 only. The resulting SPDX license identifier is: GPL-2.0-only Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2019-04-06null_blk: prevent crash from bad home_node valueJohn Pittman
At module load, if the selected home_node value is greater than the available numa nodes, the system will crash in __alloc_pages_nodemask() due to a bad paging request. Prevent this user error crash by detecting the bad value, logging an error, and setting g_home_node back to the default of NUMA_NO_NODE. 2019-02-28null_blk: fix checking for REQ_FUAHeinz Mauelshagen
null_handle_bio() erroneously uses the bio_op macro which masks respective request flag bits including REQ_FUA out thus failing the check. Fix by checking bio->bi_opf directly. Signed-off-by: Heinz Mauelshagen <heinzm@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>
2019-02-09block: kill QUEUE_FLAG_FLUSH_NQJens Axboe
We have various helpers for setting/clearing this flag, and also a helper to check if the queue supports queueable flushes or not. But nobody uses them anymore, kill it with fire. Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>

2018-11-10null_blk: remove unused nullb deviceJens Axboe
The compiler rightfully complains: drivers/block/null_blk_main.c: In function ‘null_complete_rq’: drivers/block/null_blk_main.c:647:16: warning: unused variable ‘nullb’ [-Wunused-variable] struct nullb *nullb = rq->q->queuedata; ^~~~~ Fixes: 49f6613632f9 ("nullb: remove leftover legacy request code") Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>

null_softirq_done_fn is only used for the blk-mq path, so remove the other branch. Also rename the function to better match the method name. Reviewed-by: Hannes Reinecke <hare@suse.com> Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>
2018-11-07null_blk: Add conventional zone configuration for zoned supportMasato Suzuki
Allow the creation of conventional zones by adding the zone_nr_conv configuration attribute. This new attribute is used only for zoned devices and indicates the number of conventional zones to create. The default value is 0. Since host-managed zoned block devices must always have at least one sequential zone, if the value of zone_nr_conv is larger than or equal to the total number of zones of the device nr_zones, zone_nr_conv is automatically changed to nr_zones - 1. 2018-10-25block: Introduce blk_revalidate_disk_zones()Damien Le Moal
Drivers exposing zoned block devices have to initialize and maintain correctness (i.e. revalidate) of the device zone bitmaps attached to the device request queue (seq_zones_bitmap and seq_zones_wlock). To simplify coding this, introduce a generic helper function blk_revalidate_disk_zones() suitable for most (and likely all) cases. This new function always update the seq_zones_bitmap and seq_zones_wlock bitmaps as well as the queue nr_zones field when called for a disk using a request based queue. For a disk using a BIO based queue, only the number of zones is updated since these queues do not have schedulers and so do not need the zone bitmaps. With this change, the zone bitmap initialization code in sd_zbc.c can be replaced with a call to this function in sd_zbc_read_zones(), which is called from the disk revalidate block operation method. A call to blk_revalidate_disk_zones() is also added to the null_blk driver for devices created with the zoned mode enabled. Finally, to ensure that zoned devices created with dm-linear or dm-flakey expose the correct number of zones through sysfs, a call to blk_revalidate_disk_zones() is added to dm_table_set_restrictions(). The zone bitmaps allocated and initialized with blk_revalidate_disk_zones() are freed automatically from __blk_release_queue() using the block internal function blk_queue_free_zone_bitmaps(). 2018-10-25block: add a report_zones methodChristoph Hellwig
Dispatching a report zones command through the request queue is a major pain due to the command reply payload rewriting necessary. Given that blkdev_report_zones() is executing everything synchronously, implement report zones as a block device file operation instead, allowing major simplification of the code in many places. sd, null-blk, dm-linear and dm-flakey being the only block device drivers supporting exposing zoned block devices, these drivers are modified to provide the device side implementation of the report_zones() block device file operation. For device mappers, a new report_zones() target type operation is defined so that the upper block layer calls blkdev_report_zones() can be propagated down to the underlying devices of the dm targets. Implementation for this new operation is added to the dm-linear and dm-flakey targets. 2018-09-12null_blk: fix zoned support for non-rq based operationJens Axboe
The supported added for zones in null_blk seem to assume that only rq based operation is possible. But this depends on the queue_mode setting, if this is set to 0, then cmd->bio is what we need to be operating on. Right now any attempt to load null_blk with queue_mode=0 will insta-crash, since cmd->rq is NULL and null_handle_cmd() assumes it to always be set. Make the zoned code deal with bio's instead, or pass in the appropriate sector/nr_sectors instead.
