2015-08-14auxdisplay: ks0108: initialize local parport variableSudip Mukherjee
The local variable ks0108_parport is used by other functions to write to the parallel port. We missed initializing it when we converted the driver to use new Parallel Port codes. Start using pr_* macros instead of using printk and in the process define pr_fmt. Signed-off-by: Sudip Mukherjee <sudip@vectorindia.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-08-05auxdisplay: ks0108: fix refcountSudip Mukherjee
parport_find_base() will implicitly do parport_get_port() which increases the refcount. Then parport_register_device() will again increment the refcount. But while unloading the module we are only doing parport_unregister_device() decrementing the refcount only once. We add an parport_put_port() to neutralize the effect of parport_get_port(). 2007-02-20[PATCH] cfag12864b: fix crash when built-in and no parport presentMiguel Ojeda
The problem comes when ks0108/cfag12864b are built-in and no parallel port is present. ks0108_init() is called first, as it should be, but fails to load (as there is no parallel port to use). After that, cfag12864b_init() gets called, without knowing anything about ks0108 failed, and calls ks0108_writecontrol(), which dereferences an uninitialized pointer. Init order is OK, I think. The problem is how to stop cfag12864b_init() being called if ks0108 failed to load. modprobe does it for us, but, how when built-in? 2007-02-11[PATCH] drivers: add LCD supportMiguel Ojeda Sandonis
Add support for auxiliary displays, the ks0108 LCD controller, the cfag12864b LCD and adds a framebuffer device: cfag12864bfb. - Add a "auxdisplay/" folder in "drivers/" for auxiliary display drivers. - Add support for the ks0108 LCD Controller as a device driver. (uses parport interface) - Add support for the cfag12864b LCD as a device driver. (uses ks0108 LCD Controller driver) - Add a framebuffer device called cfag12864bfb. (uses cfag12864b LCD driver) - Add the usual Documentation, includes, Makefiles, Kconfigs, MAINTAINERS, CREDITS... - Miguel Ojeda will maintain all the stuff above.
