The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:
kzalloc(a * b, gfp)
with:
kcalloc(a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)
with:
kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

- support VMD "membar shadow" feature (Jon Derrick)
- support VMD bus number offsets (Jon Derrick)
- add VMD "no AER source ID" quirk for more device IDs (Jon Derrick)
* lorenzo/pci/vmd:
PCI: vmd: Add an additional VMD device id to driver device id table
x86/PCI: Add additional VMD device root ports to VMD AER quirk
PCI: vmd: Add offset to bus numbers if necessary
PCI: vmd: Assign membar addresses from shadow registers
PCI: Add Intel VMD devices to pci ids
|

VMD devices change the source id of messages from child devices to the
VMD endpoint. This patch adds additional VMD root port device ids to the
AER quirk which requires walking the bus to determine which devices were
throwing the error.

Currently the early dump of PCI configuration space looks quite unhelpful,
e.g.
[ 0.000000] 60:
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00

[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000] 00
[ 0.000000]
which makes really hard to get anything out of this. Convert the function
to use print_hex_dump() to make output neat.
In the result we will have
[ 0.000000] 00000060: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
which is much, much better.

The generic swiotlb DMA ops were based on the x86 ones and provide
equivalent functionality, so use them.
Also fix the sta2x11 case. For that SOC the DMA map ops need an
additional physical to DMA address translations. For swiotlb buffers
that is done throught the phys_to_dma helper, but the sta2x11_dma_ops
also added an additional translation on the return value from
x86_swiotlb_alloc_coherent, which is only correct if that functions
returns a direct allocation and not a swiotlb buffer. With the
generic swiotlb and DMA-direct code phys_to_dma is not always used
and the separate sta2x11_dma_ops can be replaced with a simple
bit that marks if the additional physical to DMA address translation
is needed.

The generic DMA-direct (CONFIG_DMA_DIRECT_OPS=y) implementation is now
functionally equivalent to the x86 nommu dma_map implementation, so
switch over to using it.
That includes switching from using x86_dma_supported in various IOMMU
drivers to use dma_direct_supported instead, which provides the same
functionality.

Per PCIe r4.0, sec 7.5.1.1.9, multi-function devices are required to have a
function 0. Therefore, Linux scans for devices at function 0 (devfn
0/8/16/...) and only scans for other functions if function 0 has its
Multi-Function Device bit set or ARI or SR-IOV indicate there are more
functions.
The Jailhouse hypervisor may pass individual functions of a multi-function
device to a guest without passing function 0, which means a Linux guest
won't find them.
Change Linux PCI probing so it scans all function numbers when running as a
guest over Jailhouse.
This is technically prohibited by the spec, so it is possible that PCI
devices without the Multi-Function Device bit set may have unexpected
behavior in response to this probe.

Only try to enable a 64-bit window on AMD CPUs when "pci=big_root_window"
is specified.
This taints the kernel because the new 64-bit window uses address space we
don't know anything about, and it may contain unreported devices or memory
that would conflict with the window.
The pci_amd_enable_64bit_bar() quirk that enables the window is specific to
AMD CPUs. The generic solution would be to have the firmware enable the
window and describe it in the host bridge's _CRS method, or at least
describe it in the _PRS method so the OS would have the option of enabling
it.

not supposed to use these directly, but use the DMA API instead.
Move these to a new asm/dma-direct.h helper, included by a

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 11139
and resulted in the first patch in this series.
If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|-------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930
and resulted in the second patch in this series.
- if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:
SPDX license identifier # files
---------------------------------------------------|------
GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1
and that resulted in the third patch in this series.
- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

In the future we would use dynamic allocation for IRQ which brings
non-1:1 mapping for IOAPIC domain. Thus, we need to respect return value
of mp_map_gsi_to_irq() and assign it back to the device structure.
Besides that we need to read GSI from interrupt pin register to avoid
cases when some drivers will try to initialize PCI device twice in a row
which will call pcibios_enable_irq() twice as well.

The ioremap() function is intended for mapping MMIO. For RAM, the
memremap() function should be used. Convert calls from ioremap() to
memremap() when re-mapping RAM.
This will be used later by SME to control how the encryption mask is
applied to memory mappings, with certain memory locations being mapped
decrypted vs encrypted.

Pull dma-mapping infrastructure from Christoph Hellwig:
"This is the first pull request for the new dma-mapping subsystem
In this new subsystem we'll try to properly maintain all the generic
code related to dma-mapping, and will further consolidate arch code
into common helpers.
This pull request contains:
- removal of the DMA_ERROR_CODE macro, replacing it with calls to
->mapping_error so that the dma_map_ops instances are more self
contained and can be shared across architectures (me)
- removal of the ->set_dma_mask method, which duplicates the
->dma_capable one in terms of functionality, but requires more
duplicate code.
- various updates for the coherent dma pool and related arm code
(Vladimir)
- various smaller cleanups (me)"

On an AMD Carrizo laptop, when EHCI runtime PM is enabled, EHCI ports do
not assert PME# for device plug/unplug events while in D3.
As Alan Stern points out [1], the PME signal is not enabled when controller
is in D3, therefore it's not being woken up when new devices get plugged
in.
Testing shows PME signal works when the EHCI power state is D2.
Clear the PCI_PM_CAP_PME_D3 and PCI_PM_CAP_PME_D3cold bits in
dev->pme_support to indicate the device will not assert PME# from those
states.

Neither soft poweroff (transition to ACPI power state S5) nor
suspend-to-RAM (transition to state S3) works on the Macbook Pro 11,4 and
11,5.
The problem is related to the [mem 0x7fa00000-0x7fbfffff] space. When we
use that space, e.g., by assigning it to the 00:1c.0 Root Port, the ACPI
Power Management 1 Control Register (PM1_CNT) at [io 0x1804] doesn't work
anymore.
Linux does a soft poweroff (transition to S5) by writing to PM1_CNT. The
theory about why this doesn't work is:
- The write to PM1_CNT causes an SMI
- The BIOS SMI handler depends on something in
[mem 0x7fa00000-0x7fbfffff]
- When Linux assigns [mem 0x7fa00000-0x7fbfffff] to the 00:1c.0 Port, it
covers up whatever the SMI handler uses, so the SMI handler no longer
works correctly
Reserve the [mem 0x7fa00000-0x7fbfffff] space so we don't assign it to
anything.
This is voodoo programming, since we don't know what the real conflict is,
but we've failed to find the root cause.

All x86 PCI configuration space accessors have either their own
serialization or can operate completely lockless (ECAM).

x86 wants to get rid of the global pci_lock protecting the config space
accessors so ECAM mode can operate completely lockless, but the CE4100 PCI
code relies on that to protect the simulation registers.
Restructure the code so it uses the x86 specific pci_config_lock to
serialize the inner workings of the CE4100 PCI magic. That allows to remove
the global locking via pci_lock later.

If the legacy PCI init fails, then there are no PCI config space accesors
available, but the code continues and tries to scan the busses, which fails
due to the lack of config space accessors.
Return right away, if the last init fallback fails.
