2014-02-18usb: host: remove selects of USB_ARCH_HAS_?HCIPaul Bolle
USB_ARCH_HAS_EHCI, USB_ARCH_HAS_OHCI, and USB_ARCH_HAS_XHCI were just removed. Selecting them is a nop. The select statements for these symbols can be removed too. 2014-01-23Kconfig: update flightly outdated CONFIG_SMP documentationRobert Graffham
Remove an outdated reference to "most personal computers" having only one CPU, and change the use of "singleprocessor" and "single processor" in CONFIG_SMP's documentation to "uniprocessor" across all arches where that documentation is present. 2013-12-20stackprotector: Unify the HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR logic between architecturesKees Cook
Instead of duplicating the CC_STACKPROTECTOR Kconfig and Makefile logic in each architecture, switch to using HAVE_CC_STACKPROTECTOR and keep everything in one place. This retains the x86-specific bug verification scripts. 2012-11-17irq_work: Remove CONFIG_HAVE_IRQ_WORKFrederic Weisbecker
irq work can run on any arch even without IPI support because of the hook on update_process_times(). So lets remove HAVE_IRQ_WORK because it doesn't reflect any backend requirement. 2012-10-09Kconfig: clean up the long arch list for the DEBUG_BUGVERBOSE config optionCatalin Marinas
Introduce HAVE_DEBUG_BUGVERBOSE config option and select it in corresponding architecture Kconfig files. Architectures that already select GENERIC_BUG don't need to select HAVE_DEBUG_BUGVERBOSE. 2012-09-28Make most arch asm/module.h files use asm-generic/module.hDavid Howells
Use the mapping of Elf_[SPE]hdr, Elf_Addr, Elf_Sym, Elf_Dyn, Elf_Rel/Rela, ELF_R_TYPE() and ELF_R_SYM() to either the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version into asm-generic/module.h for all arches bar MIPS. Also, use the generic definition mod_arch_specific where possible. To this end, I've defined three new config bools: (*) HAVE_MOD_ARCH_SPECIFIC Arches define this if they don't want to use the empty generic mod_arch_specific struct. (*) MODULES_USE_ELF_RELA Arches define this if their modules can contain RELA records. This causes the Elf_Rela mapping to be emitted and allows apply_relocate_add() to be defined by the arch rather than have the core emit an error message. (*) MODULES_USE_ELF_REL Arches define this if their modules can contain REL records. This causes the Elf_Rel mapping to be emitted and allows apply_relocate() to be defined by the arch rather than have the core emit an error message. Note that it is possible to allow both REL and RELA records: m68k and mips are two arches that do this. With this, some arch asm/module.h files can be deleted entirely and replaced with a generic-y marker in the arch Kbuild file. Additionally, I have removed the bits from m32r and score that handle the unsupported type of relocation record as that's now handled centrally. 2012-07-30ipc: use Kconfig options for __ARCH_WANT_[COMPAT_]IPC_PARSE_VERSIONWill Deacon
Rather than #define the options manually in the architecture code, add Kconfig options for them and select them there instead. This also allows us to select the compat IPC version parsing automatically for platforms using the old compat IPC interface. 2012-06-13sh: switch to generic strncpy_from_user().Paul Mundt
This kills off the special sh32/64 versions and adopts the generic version. It should be possible to optimize this for SH-4A unaligned loads, but this is a corner case that can be supported incrementally. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
