2014-04-03s390/irq: Use defines for external interruption codesThomas Huth
Use the new defines for external interruption codes to get rid of "magic" numbers in the s390 source code. And while we're at it, also rename the (un-)register_external_interrupt function to something shorter so that this patch does not exceed the 80 columns all over the place. 2013-06-05s390/sclp: fix new line detectionPeter Oberparleiter
When printing multi-line text using sclp_print, line endings are not correctly handled. The routine is expecting an EBCDIC new line character as line terminator while the input text is encoded in ASCII format. Fix this problem by modifying sclp_print to scan for ASCII new line characters. 2012-11-06s390/sclp: fix addressing mode clobberHeiko Carstens
The early mini sclp driver may be called in zArch mode either in 31 or 64 bit addressing mode. If called in 31 bit addressing mode the new external interrupt psw however would switch to 64 bit addressing mode. This would cause an addressing exception within the interrupt handler, since the code didn't expect the zArch/31 bit addressing mode combination. Fix this by setting the new psw addressing mode bits so they fit the current addressing mode. 2012-07-20s390/comments: unify copyright messages and remove file namesHeiko Carstens
Remove the file name from the comment at top of many files. In most cases the file name was wrong anyway, so it's rather pointless. Also unify the IBM copyright statement. We did have a lot of sightly different statements and wanted to change them one after another whenever a file gets touched. However that never happened. Instead people start to take the old/"wrong" statements to use as a template for new files. So unify all of them in one go. Signed-off-by: Heiko Carstens <heiko.carstens@de.ibm.com>
2011-07-24[S390] fix s390 assembler code alignmentsJan Glauber
The alignment is missing for various global symbols in s390 assembly code. With a recent gcc and an instruction like stgrl this can lead to a specification exception if the instruction uses such a mis-aligned address. Specify the alignment explicitely and while add it define __ALIGN for s390 and use the ENTRY define to save some lines of code. 2010-02-26[S390] add support for compressed kernelsMartin Schwidefsky
Add the "bzImage" compile target and the necessary code to generate compressed kernel images. The old style uncompressed "image" target is preserved, a simple make will build them both. Signed-off-by: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>
2010-02-09tree-wide: Assorted spelling fixesDaniel Mack
In particular, several occurances of funny versions of 'success', 'unknown', 'therefore', 'acknowledge', 'argument', 'achieve', 'address', 'beginning', 'desirable', 'separate' and 'necessary' are fixed. 2009-09-22[S390] hibernate: Do real CPU swap at resume timeMichael Holzheu
Currently, when the physical resume CPU is not equal to the physical suspend CPU, we swap the CPUs logically, by modifying the logical/physical CPU mapping. This has two major drawbacks: First the change is visible from user space (e.g. CPU sysfs files) and second it is hard to ensure that nowhere in the kernel the physical CPU ID is stored before suspend. To fix this, we now really swap the physical CPUs, if the resume CPU is not the pysical suspend CPU. We restart the suspend CPU and stop the resume CPU using SIGP restart and SIGP stop. If the suspend CPU is no longer available, we write a message and load a disabled wait PSW. 2009-06-12[S390] add mini sclp driverHeiko Carstens
This adds a mini sclp device driver for very early use. The primary and probably only use will be to emit a message to the console if the cpu doesn't provide the minimum required capabilities to run the kernel. After printing the message a disabled wait will be loaded and the machine stops operating. Printing the message is also part of this patch.
