git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/powerpc/linux Pull powerpc updates from Michael Ellerman: "Notable changes: - A fix for a bug in our page table fragment allocator, where a page table page could be freed and reallocated for something else while still in use, leading to memory corruption etc. The fix reuses pt_mm in struct page (x86 only) for a powerpc only refcount. - Fixes to our pkey support. Several are user-visible changes, but bring us in to line with x86 behaviour and/or fix outright bugs. Thanks to Florian Weimer for reporting many of these. - A series to improve the hvc driver & related OPAL console code, which have been seen to cause hardlockups at times. The hvc driver changes in particular have been in linux-next for ~month. - Increase our MAX_PHYSMEM_BITS to 128TB when SPARSEMEM_VMEMMAP=y. - Remove Power8 DD1 and Power9 DD1 support, neither chip should be in use anywhere other than as a paper weight. - An optimised memcmp implementation using Power7-or-later VMX instructions - Support for barrier_nospec on some NXP CPUs. - Support for flushing the count cache on context switch on some IBM CPUs (controlled by firmware), as a Spectre v2 mitigation. - A series to enhance the information we print on unhandled signals to bring it into line with other arches, including showing the offending VMA and dumping the instructions around the fault. 2018-08-09ssb: Remove SSB_WARN_ON, SSB_BUG_ON and SSB_DEBUGMichael Büsch
Use the standard WARN_ON instead. If a small kernel is desired, WARN_ON can be disabled globally. Also remove SSB_DEBUG. Besides WARN_ON it only adds a tiny debug check. Include this check unconditionally. Signed-off-by: Michael Buesch <m@bues.ch> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2018-08-08powerpc/configs/dpaa: enable the Cortina PHY driverCamelia Groza

2018-07-24powerpc: Add ppc32_allmodconfig defconfig targetMichael Ellerman
Because the allmodconfig logic just sets every symbol to M or Y, it has the effect of always generating a 64-bit config, because CONFIG_PPC64 becomes Y. So to make it easier for folks to test 32-bit code, provide a phony defconfig target that generates a 32-bit allmodconfig. The 32-bit port has several mutually exclusive CPU types, we choose the Book3S variants as that's what the help text in Kconfig says is most common. 2018-05-10powerpc/config: powernv_defconfig updatesNicholas Piggin
For consideration: * Add NVDIMM support - Enables greater testing, mambo device. * Add IPv6 support built in + additional modules - Because it's 2018 maan. * Add DEFERRED_STRUCT_PAGE_INIT - Let's see what breaks. * Add PPC_MEMTRACE - Small powernv debugfs driver for getting hardware traces. * Add MEMORY_FAILURE - Machine check exceptions can now drive memory failure. * Turn on FANOTIFY - This is the current filesystem notification feature. * Turn on SCOM_DEBUGFS - Handy for hardware/firmware debugging, security risk? * Turn on async SCSI scanning - Let's see what breaks. * Add MLX5 driver as a module - Popular demand. * Add CRYPTO_CRCT10DIF_VPMSUM - POWER8 T10DIF acceleration. * Make a bunch of USB hid drivers modules. * Make SCSI SG, SR, and FC modules - FC is huge. * Make video drivers except AST GPU modules - Also huge. * Make PCI serial driver a module - Uncommon. * Make more things modules, NFS FS, RAM disk, netconsole, MS-DOS fs. * Get rid of /dev/port - Not used. * Remove PPS and PTP subsystms - Unusual. * Remove legacy BSD ttys - Long dead. * Remove IDE - Deprecated and replaced with ATA. * Remove WIRELESS - Until we get POWER9 laptops. * Remove RAW - Long deprecated in favour of direct IO. * Remove floppy, parport, and PS2 input devices - not supported. * Remove virtio drivers, ballooning - We're host only. * Remove PPP - Sorry Paulus. This results in a significantly smaller vmlinux: text data bss dec filename 13143383 5277944 1317856 19739183 vanilla 12263281 4852074 1341720 18457075 patched Signed-off-by: Nicholas Piggin <npiggin@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2018-05-10powerpc: wii_defconfig: Disable BCMA supportJonathan Neuschäfer
The B43 driver only needs CONFIG_SSB to support the WLAN card found in the Wii. Configure it accordingly, and disable BCMA bus support to save a bit of space. Signed-off-by: Jonathan Neuschäfer <j.neuschaefer@gmx.net> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>

2018-05-10powerpc: wii_defconfig: Enable GPIO-related optionsJonathan Neuschäfer
Now that there's a GPIO driver for the Wii, let's enable the following drivers: - the GPIO driver itself - gpio-keys - gpio-poweroff - gpio-leds and a few LED triggers Signed-off-by: Jonathan Neuschäfer <j.neuschaefer@gmx.net> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2018-05-10powerpc: wii_defconfig: Disable Ethernet driver support codeJonathan Neuschäfer
The Wii doesn't have built-in Ethernet and USB Ethernet adapters are in a different menu. Disable CONFIG_ETHERNET to save some space in support code for Ethernet drivers. Note that this patch doesn't disable any Ethernet drivers, because they are not enabled by default. 2018-05-03powerpc: remove retired sbc834x supportPaul Gortmaker
I no longer have a functional version of this board for even the most basic sanity boot testing, and they have not been available for purchase for quite some years now. There is no point in adding a burden to testing coverage that does walk all the possible defconfigs, so with all the above in mind, it makes sense to remove it. Of course it will remain in the git history for anyone who happens to stumble on one and wants to tinker with it. 2018-01-16powerpc/8xx: Remove CPU6 ERRATA WorkaroundChristophe Leroy
CPU6 ERRATA affects only MPC860 revisions prior to C.0. Manufacturing of those revisiosn was stopped in 1999-2000. Therefore, it has been almost 20 years since this ERRATA has been fixed in the silicon. This patch removes the workaround for that ERRATA. 2017-10-22powerpc/configs: Enable I2C_CHARDEV for pseries and powernvAndrew Donnellan
i2c-dev provides an interface for userspace programs to interact with I2C devices, and is very helpful for I2C-related debugging. Enable it in pseries_defconfig and powernv_defconfig. It's already enabled in many other powerpc defconfigs. Signed-off-by: Andrew Donnellan <andrew.donnellan@au1.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-10-06powerpc: Add PPC_EMULATED_STATS to powernv_defconfigMichael Neuling

2017-10-04powerpc/configs: Add Skiroot defconfigJoel Stanley
This configuration is used by the OpenPower firmware for it's Linux-as-bootloader implementation. Also known as the Petitboot kernel, this configuration broke in 4.12 (CPU_HOTPLUG=n), so add it to the upstream tree in order to get better coverage. Signed-off-by: Joel Stanley <joel@jms.id.au> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-09-20powerpc/configs: Update for CONFIG_SND changesMichael Ellerman
Commit eb3b705aaed9 ("ALSA: Make CONFIG_SND_OSSEMUL user-selectable") means we need to set CONFIG_SND_OSSEMUL in our configs, otherwise we lose some of the SND symbols. And commit 0181307abc1d ("ALSA: seq: Reorganize kconfig and build") reorganised things, which causes the churn. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-31powerpc/configs: Enable THP and 64K for ppc64(le)_defconfigBalbir Singh
Enable 64K page size and THP. I use ppc64le_defconfig when I need a single config across guest and host, but having 4K page size as default is not what I expect. I could move these over to server.config and merge if ppc64_defconfig is meant for systems that use 4k pages by default. 2017-08-28powerpc/configs/6xx: Reinstate CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_STATMichael Ellerman
In commit 1aefc75b2449 ("cpufreq: stats: Make the stats code non-modular"), the CPU_FREQ_STAT code was made non-modular. Our defconfig still said =m though, which meant we no longer got the code at all. Switch the defconfig to =y. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs/6xx: Drop no longer needed CONFIG_NF_CONNTRACK_PROC_COMPATMichael Ellerman

We had two values for CONFIG_EXT4, =m and =y, just use =y. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs/6xx: Drop no longer needed CONFIG_TIMER_STATSMichael Ellerman
Since commit dfb4357da6dd ("time: Remove CONFIG_TIMER_STATS") we no longer need to set CONFIG_TIMER_STATS in our defconfigs. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs/6xx: Turn CONFIG_DRM_RADEON back onMichael Ellerman
In commit d92d9c3a1448 ("drm: hide legacy drivers with CONFIG_DRM_LEGACY") CONFIG_DRM_RADEON was moved behind CONFIG_DRM_LEGACY meaning it stopped being enabled by ppc6xx_defconfig. Although no one has noticed, given this is basically a legacy platform, it seems anyone who is using it probably still wants this driver. So turn it back on for now. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs/mpc5200: Drop no longer needed CONFIG_FBMichael Ellerman
Since commit a03fdcb18632 ("drm: Add top level Kconfig option for DRM fbdev emulation") we no longer need to set CONFIG_FB in our defconfigs. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>

In commit 73d8ef76006b ("Input: mousedev - stop offering PS/2 to userspace by default") the symbol INPUT_MOUSEDEV went from being 'default y' to 'default n' (implied). That means we no longer need to explicitly disable it in our defconfigs. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs: Drop removed CONFIG_LOGFSMichael Ellerman
In commit 1d0fd57a50aa ("logfs: remove from tree"), logfs was removed from the tree, so we can drop it from our defconfigs. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs: Turn CONFIG_R128 back in pmac32_defconfigMichael Ellerman
In commit d92d9c3a1448 ("drm: hide legacy drivers with CONFIG_DRM_LEGACY") CONFIG_R128 was moved behind CONFIG_DRM_LEGACY meaning it stopped being enabled by pmac32_defconfig. Although no one has noticed, given this is basically a legacy platform, it seems anyone who is using it probably still wants this driver. So turn it back on for now. 2017-08-28powerpc/configs: Add CONFIG_RAS now required for CONFIG_EDACMichael Ellerman
In commit e3c4ff6d8c94 ("EDAC: Remove EDAC_MM_EDAC") CONFIG_EDAC grew a dependency on CONFIG_RAS. Some of our defconfigs don't have the latter, which means we lose CONFIG_EDAC, so add CONFIG_RAS to fix that. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2017-08-28powerpc/configs: Drop no longer needed CONFIG_AUDITSYSCALLMichael Ellerman
Since commit cb74ed278f80 ("audit: always enable syscall auditing when supported and audit is enabled") we no longer need to set CONFIG_AUDITSYSCALL in our defconfigs. Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
