2016-10-04MIPS: ralink: Make timer explicitly non-modularPaul Gortmaker
The Makefile entry controlling compilation of this code is "obj-y" meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone. Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only. We explicitly disallow a driver unbind, since that doesn't have a sensible use case anyway, and it allows us to drop the ".remove" code for non-modular drivers. Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code. We also delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information was (or is now) contained at the top of the file in the comments. We don't replace module.h with init.h since the file already has that. 2016-06-28clocksource/drivers/ralink: Convert init function to return errorDaniel Lezcano
The init functions do not return any error. They behave as the following: - panic, thus leading to a kernel crash while another timer may work and make the system boot up correctly or - print an error and let the caller unaware if the state of the system Change that by converting the init functions to return an error conforming to the CLOCKSOURCE_OF_RET prototype. Proper error handling (rollback, errno value) will be changed later case by case, thus this change just return back an error or success in the init function. 2015-06-01MIPS: ralink: Fix clearing the illegal access interruptJonas Gorski
Due to a typo the illegal access interrupt is never cleared in by the interupt handler, causing an effective deadlock on the first illegal access. This was broken since the code was introduced in 5433acd81e87 ("MIPS: ralink: add illegal access driver"), but only exposed when the Kconfig symbol was added, thus enabling the code. A driver was added in commit 5433acd81e87 ("MIPS: ralink: add illegal access driver") without the Kconfig section being added. Fix this by adding the symbol to the Kconfig file. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core Pull driver core update from Greg KH: "Here's the set of driver core patches for 3.19-rc1. They are dominated by the removal of the .owner field in platform drivers. They touch a lot of files, but they are "simple" changes, just removing a line in a structure. Other than that, a few minor driver core and debugfs changes. There are some ath9k patches coming in through this tree that have been acked by the wireless maintainers as they relied on the debugfs changes.
