2018-04-30ARM: OMAP2+: Use signed value for sysc register offsetsTony Lindgren
We currently don't know if a revision register exists or not. Zero is often a valid offset for the revision register. As we are still checking device tree data against platform data, we will get bogus warnings with correct device tree data because of incomplete platform data. Let's fix the issue by using signed offsets and tag the revision registers that don't exist with -ENODEV, and init the missing ones with the correct revision register offset. 2018-02-14ARM: OMAP2+: Cleanup omap_mcbsp_dev_attr and other legacy dataSuman Anna
The omap_mcbsp_dev_attr data was used to supply instance-specific data for legacy non-DT devices. The legacy McBSP device support including the usage of the hwmod class revision data has been dropped in commit 48f6693790aa ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove unused legacy code for McBSP") and this data is therefore no longer needed. So, cleanup the structure and all the associated data in various hwmod data files. 2018-02-14ARM: OMAP2+: Cleanup omap2_spi_dev_attr and other legacy dataSuman Anna
The omap2_spi_dev_attr data was used to supply instance-specific data for legacy non-DT devices. The SPI legacy device support including the usage of the hwmod class revision data has been dropped in commit 6f3ab009a178 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove unused legacy code for device init") and this data is therefore no longer needed. 2018-02-14ARM: OMAP2+: Cleanup omap_timer_capability_dev_attr usageSuman Anna
The omap_timer_capability_dev_attr data was used to supply instance specific capabilities (like always-on, PWM functionality or ability to interrupt DSP cores) for legacy non-DT devices. These capabilities are now provided through device-tree properties. The legacy device support has been cleaned up in commit 8d39ff3d1696 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove unused legacy code for timer") and this data is therefore no longer needed. So, cleanup the structure and all the associated data in various hwmod data files. While at this, remove the stale header in hwmod data files that already do not have any timer capability data. 2018-02-14ARM: OMAP2+: Cleanup omap_i2c_dev_attr usageSuman Anna
The omap_i2c_dev_attr data was used to supply instance-specific data for legacy non-DT devices. The I2C legacy device support has been cleaned up in commit 65fa3e719f36 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove legacy i2c.c platform init code") and this data is therefore no longer needed. So, cleanup the structure and all the associated data in various hwmod data files. The i2c-omap.h header is still needed because of the need for various OMAP_I2C_IP_VERSION_x macros. 2018-02-14ARM: OMAP2+: Cleanup omap_gpio_dev_attr usageSuman Anna
The omap_gpio_dev_attr data was used to supply instance-specific data for legacy non-DT devices. The GPIO legacy device support has been cleaned up in commit 14944934f8ac ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove legacy gpio code") a while ago and this data is therefore no longer needed. So, cleanup the structure and all the associated data in various hwmod data files. Signed-off-by: Suman Anna <s-anna@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

The commit referenced above exposes this problem. To fix the problem, use of_get_child_by_name() instead of of_find_node_by_name(); of_get_child_by_name() does not drop the reference count of passed device nodes. While semantically different, we only look for immediate children of the passed device node, so of_get_child_by_name() is a more appropriate function to use anyway. Release the reference to the device node obtained with of_get_child_by_name() after it is no longer needed to avoid another device node leak. While at it, clean up the code and change the return type of omap3xxx_hwmod_is_hs_ip_block_usable() to bool to match its use and the return type of of_device_is_available(). Commit d9d9cec02835 ("ARM: OMAP2+: Remove legacy data from hwmod for omap3") dropped platform data that should no longer be used as we're booting with device tree. 2016-06-10ARM: OMAP3: hwmod data: Fix McBSP2/3 sidetone dataPeter Ujfalusi
The McBSPLP's sidetone main clock is the McBSPLP's ICLK, not FCLK as the sidetone only receives the ICLK from the main McBSP module. Since the McBSP and sidetone is using the very same clock from PRCM level the sidetone must not have the prcm section to check the clock status since the sidetone is only used when McBSP is already configured. If two separate hwmods looking at the same bit and they would use pm_runtime in nested way (as it must happen with McBSP and it's ST module) the hwmod would warn, because the idlest will not match what it is expected after enable/disable of the clocks. 2014-11-26ARM: OMAP1/2+: MMC: separate platform data for mmc and mmc hs driverAndreas Fenkart
- omap mmc driver supports multiplexing, omap_mmc_hs doesn't this leads to one of the major confusions in the omap_hsmmc driver - platform data should be read-only for the driver most callbacks are not set by the omap3 platform init code while still required. So they are set from the driver probe function, which is against the paradigm that platform-data should not be modified by the driver typical examples are card_detect, read_only callbacks un-bundling by searching for driver name \"omap_hsmmc in the arch/arm folder. omap_hsmmc_platform_data is not initialized directly, but from omap2_hsmmc_info, which is defined in a separate header file not touched by this patch hwmod includes platform headers to declare features of the platform. All the declared features are prefixed OMAP_HSMMC. 2014-09-18ARM: OMAP3: Use manual idle for UARTs because of DMA errataTony Lindgren
In sprz318f.pdf "Usage Note 2.7" says that UARTs cannot acknowledge idle requests in smartidle mode when configured for DMA operations. This prevents L4 from going idle. So let's use manual idle mode instead. Otherwise systems using Sebastian's 8250 patches with DMA will never enter deeper idle states because of the errata above. 2014-09-18ARM: OMAP2+: Add hwmod flag for HWMOD_RECONFIG_IO_CHAINTony Lindgren
Commit cc824534d4fe ("ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod: Rearm wake-up interrupts for DT when MUSB is idled") fixed issues with hung UART wake-up events by calling _reconfigure_io_chain() when MUSB is connected or disconnected. As pointed out by Paul Walmsley, we may need to also call _reconfigure_io_chain() in other cases, so it should be a separate flag. Let's add HWMOD_RECONFIG_IO_CHAIN as suggested by Paul. The current entry prevents system from idling if the hwmod is defined in the .dts file so let's change the idlemodes. 2013-12-25ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod_data: fix missing OMAP_INTC_START in irq dataSuman Anna
Commit 7d7e1eb (ARM: OMAP2+: Prepare for irqs.h removal) and commit ec2c082 (ARM: OMAP2+: Remove hardcoded IRQs and enable SPARSE_IRQ) updated the way interrupts for OMAP2/3 devices are defined in the HWMOD data structures to being an index plus a fixed offset (defined by OMAP_INTC_START). Couple of irqs in the OMAP2/3 hwmod data were misconfigured completely as they were missing this OMAP_INTC_START relative offset. 2013-12-09ARM: OMAP3: hwmod data: Don't prevent RESET of USB Host moduleRoger Quadros
Unlike what the comment states, errata i660 does not state that we can't RESET the USB host module. Instead it states that RESET is the only way to recover from a deadlock situation. RESET ensures that the module is in a known good state irrespective of what bootloader does with the module, so it must be done at boot.
