2019-05-14treewide: replace #include <asm/sizes.h> with #include <linux/sizes.h>Masahiro Yamada
Since commit dccd2304cc90 ("ARM: 7430/1: sizes.h: move from asm-generic to <linux/sizes.h>"), <asm/sizes.h> and <asm-generic/sizes.h> are just wrappers of <linux/sizes.h>. 2018-09-20ARM: OMAP1: ams-delta: initialize latch2 pins to safe valuesJanusz Krzysztofik
Latch2 pins control a number of on-board devices, namely LCD, NAND, MODEM and CODEC. Those pins used to be initialized with safe values from init_machine before that operation was: 1) moved to late_initcall in preparation for conversion of latch2 to GPIO device - see commit f7519d8c8290 ("ARM: OMAP1: ams-delta: register latch dependent devices later"), 2) replaced with non-atomic initialization performed by means of gpio_request_array() - see commit 937eb4bb0058 ("ARM: OMAP1: ams-delta: convert latches to basic_mmio_gpio"), 3) made completely asynchronous by delegation of GPIO request operations performed on subsets of pins to respective device drivers in subsequent commits. One visible negative result of that disintegration was corrupt keyboard data reported by serio driver, recently fixed by commit 41f8fee385a0 ("ARM: OMAP1: ams-delta: Hog "keybrd_dataout" GPIO pin"). Moreover, initialization of LATCH2_PIN_MODEM_CODEC still performed with ams_delta_latch2_write() wrapper from late_init() is now done on not requested GPIO pin. Reintroduce atomic initialization of latch2 pins at machine_init to prevent from random values potentially corrupting NAND data or maybe even destroing other hardware. Also take care of MODEM/CODEC related pins so MODEM device probe succeeds even if latch2 GPIO device or dependent regulator is not ready and CODEC can be reached over the MODEM even if audio driver doesn't take control over LATCH2_PIN_MODEM_CODEC. Once done, remove the no longer needed GPIO based implementation of ams_delta_latch_write() and its frontend macro. 2018-07-02ARM: OMAP1: ams-delta FIQ: don't use static GPIO numbersJanusz Krzysztofik
With introduction of GPIO lookup tables to Amstrad Delta board init file, semantics of symbols representing OMAP GPIO pins defined in <mach/board-ams-delta.h> changed from statically assigned global GPIO numbers to hardware pin numbers local to OMAP "gpio-0-15" chip. This patch modifies deferred FIQ interrupt handler so it no longer uses static GPIO numbers in favour of IRQ data descriptors obtained at FIQ initialization time from descriptor of the GPIO chip with use of its hardware pin numbers. The chip descriptor is passed from the board init file. As a benefit, the deferred FIQ handler should work faster. 2017-11-02License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no licenseGreg Kroah-Hartman
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default all files without license information are under the default license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2. Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. How this work was done: Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of the use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information, Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords. The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files. The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines). All documentation files were explicitly excluded. The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license identifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930 and resulted in the second patch in this series. - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in it (per prior point). Results summary: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------ GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270 GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17 LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15 GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14 ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5 LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4 LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1 and that resulted in the third patch in this series. - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became the concluded license(s). - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred. - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics). - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier, the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later in time. In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so they are related. Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks in about 15000 files. In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the correct identifier. Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch version early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the different types of files to be modified. These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. When CONFIG_DEBUG_ICEDCC is set, we don't use the platform specific putc() function, but use icedcc_putc() instead, so putc is unused and causes a compile time warning: In file included from ../arch/arm/boot/compressed/misc.c:28:0: arch/arm/mach-rpc/include/mach/uncompress.h:79:13: warning: 'putc' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] arch/arm/mach-w90x900/include/mach/uncompress.h:30:13: warning: 'putc' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] On most platforms, this does not happen, because putc is defined as 'static inline' so the compiler will automatically drop it when it's unused. 2015-05-21ARM: OMAP1: Fix randconfig builds if ARCH_OMAP15XX not selectedTony Lindgren
With the omap1 SPARSE_IRQ changes mach/irqs.h is no longer automatically included. Turns out now we rely on ARCH_OMAP15XX including hardware.h from memory.h, so without ARCH_OMAP15XX we get build failures. As we have legacy drivers still relying on these indirect includes, let's not add more mach includes to the drivers. Those have to be removed anyways for multiplatform support. Let's fix up mach-omap1 to include soc.h where cpu_is_omap checks are done, and common.h for board-*.c files. But let's keep the indirect memory.h include for now to avoid unnecessary churn in the drivers. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2015-05-20ARM: OMAP1: Change interrupt numbering for sparse IRQTony Lindgren
Change interrupt numbering for sparse IRQ. We do this using a fixed offset until we can drop irqs.h once all it's users have been updated. Note that this depends on the GPIO fix for the MPUIO IRQs "gpio: omap: Fix regression for MPUIO interrupts". Also note that this patch adds some extra irq alloc warnings that will go away when we stop calling irq_alloc_descs in gpio-omap.c with a follow-up patch. 2015-01-21ARM: 8271/1: omap1: Migrate debug_ll macros to use 8250.SDaniel Thompson
The omap1's debug-macro.S is similar to the generic 8250 code. Compared to the 8520 code the omap1 macro automatically determines what UART to use based on breadcrumbs left by the bootloader and automatically copes with the eccentric register layout on OMAP7XX. This patch drops both these features and relies instead on the generic 8250 macros: 1. Dropping support for the bootloader breadcrumbs is identical to the way the migration was handled for OMAP2 (see 808b7e07464d...). 2. Support for OMAP7XX still exists but it must be configured by hand (DEBUG_OMAP7XXUART1/2/3) rather than handled at runtime. 2014-07-29ARM: 8113/1: remove remaining definitions of PLAT_PHYS_OFFSET from ↵Uwe Kleine-König
<mach/memory.h> The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically. So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled. This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel. (CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to "0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.) We want to remove plat/cpu.h. To do this, let's first split it to private soc.h to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2. We have to keep plat/cpu.h around until the remaining drivers are fixed, so let's include the local soc.h in plat/cpu.h and for drivers still including plat/cpu.h. Once the drivers are fixed not to include plat/cpu.h, we can remove the file. This is needed for the ARM common zImage support. 2012-10-17ARM: OMAP: Make plat/fpga.h local to arch/arm/plat-omapTony Lindgren
There's no need to have this file in plat/fpga.h. We can make it local to plat-omap replacing fpga_read/write functions directly with readb/writeb as that's how they are already defined in fpga.h. Note that 2420 based H4 is also using the fpga, so let's keep the led support around in plat-omap until we flip over mach-omap2 to device tree. 2012-09-12ARM: OMAP1: Move SoC specific headers from plat to mach for omap1Tony Lindgren
There's no need to have these in plat-omap any longer. Note that these could eventually be made local to mach-omap1 instead of being in mach. But to do that, at least various driver access using omap7xxx.h registers needs to be fixed first. 2012-09-12ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+Tony Lindgren
As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. While at it, also sort some of the includes in the standard way. 2012-09-12ARM: OMAP: Move gpio.h to include/linux/platform_dataTony Lindgren
This way we can remove includes of plat/gpio.h which won't work with the single zImage support. Note that we also remove the cpu_class_is_omap2() check in gpio-omap.c as the drivers should not call it as we need to make it local to arch/arm/mach-omap2 for single zImage support. While at it, arrange the related includes in the standard way. 2012-04-05ARM: fix __io macro for PCMCIARob Herring
With commit c334bc1 (ARM: make mach/io.h include optional), PCMCIA was broken. PCMCIA depends on __io() returning a valid i/o address, and most ARM platforms require IO_SPACE_LIMIT be set to 0xffffffff for PCMCIA. This needs a better fix with a fixed i/o address mapping, but for now we just restore things to the previous behavior. This fixes at91, omap1, pxa and sa11xx. pxa needs io.h if PCI is enabled, but PCMCIA is not. sa11xx already has IO_SPACE_LIMIT set to 0xffffffff, so it doesn't need an io.h.
