2011-06-21msm: iommu: move to drivers/iommu/Ohad Ben-Cohen
This should ease finding similarities with different platforms, with the intention of solving problems once in a generic framework which everyone can use. Compile-tested for MSM8X60. Signed-off-by: Ohad Ben-Cohen <ohad@wizery.com> Acked-by: David Brown <davidb@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Joerg Roedel <joerg.roedel@amd.com>
2011-06-14drivers: iommu: move to a dedicated folderOhad Ben-Cohen
Create a dedicated folder for iommu drivers, and move the base iommu implementation over there. Grouping the various iommu drivers in a single location will help finding similar problems shared by different platforms, so they could be solved once, in the iommu framework, instead of solved differently (or duplicated) in each driver. 2011-01-07msm: Secure Channel Manager (SCM) supportStephen Boyd
SCM is the protocol used to communicate between the secure and non-secure code executing on the applications processor. The non-secure side uses a physically contiguous buffer to pass information to the secure side; where the buffer conforms to a format that is agreed upon by both sides. The use of a buffer allows multiple pending requests to be in flight on the secure side. It also benefits use cases where the command or response buffer contains large chunks of data. 2010-11-30msm: iommu: Kconfig dependency for the IOMMU APIStepan Moskovchenko
Make the IOMMU driver select the IOMMU API in the kernel configuration. Signed-off-by: Stepan Moskovchenko <stepanm@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-11-30msm: iommu: Kconfig item for cacheable page tablesStepan Moskovchenko
Add a Kconfig item to allow the IOMMU page tables to be coherent in the L2 cache. This generally reduces IOTLB miss latencies and has been shown to improve multimedia performance. Signed-off-by: Stepan Moskovchenko <stepanm@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-11-22arm: kconfig: enable SMP for MSM targetsDaniel Walker
This just adds ARCH_MSM_SCORPIONMP to allow SMP selection for MSM. MSM is unique in that it doesn't enable SCU or TWD. Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-10-29msm: Kconfig: drop unused config optionsDaniel Walker
These two config options don't exist, and aren't ever going to. So I simply delete them. Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-10-27msm: fix Kconfig target board selectionDaniel Walker
This prevents build failures since it's currently possible to select 8x50, 7x30, or 7x00 without selecting a specific board. These changes just force a target selection, which is currently defaulting to the most common one (7x30 only has one). Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-10-08msm: add MSM8x60 FFA supportGregory Bean
The MSM8X60 FFA contains different components than the MSM8X60 SURF, and therefore requires a different ARCH type and machine ID. Signed-off-by: Gregory Bean <gbean@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>

2010-10-06msm: Featurize gpiomux.Gregory Bean
Featurize gpiomux so that systems like 7x00 which do not wish to use it do not have to be saddled with the configuration tables. Signed-off-by: Gregory Bean <gbean@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-10-06msm: add gpiomux api for gpio multiplex & configuration.Gregory Bean
Add the 'gpiomux' api, which addresses the following shortcomings of existing tlmm api: - gpio power-collapse, which is managed by a peripheral processor on other targets, must be managed by the application processor on the 8x60. - The enable/disable flag of the legacy gpio_tlmm_config api is not applicable on the 8x60, and causes confusion. - The gpio 'direction' bits are meaningless for all func_sel configurations except for generic-gpio mode (func_sel 0), in which case the gpio_direction_* functions should be used. Having these bits in the tlmm api leads to confusion and misuse of the gpiolib api, and they have been removed in gpiomux. - The functional api of the legacy system ran contrary to the typical use-case, which is a single massive configuration at boot. Rather than forcing hundreds of 'config' function calls, the new api allows data to be configured with a single table. gpiomux_get and gpiomux_put are meant to be called automatically when gpio_request and gpio_free are called, giving automatic gpiomux/tlmm control to those drivers/lines with simple power profiles - in the simplest cases, an entry in the gpiomux table and the correct usage of gpiolib is all that is required to get proper gpio power control. 2010-05-12arm: msm: smd: remove Kconfig menu optionDaniel Walker
This removes the Kconfig menu option. SMD can still be selected but it's done inside the Kconfig file and not via the menu. Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2010-05-12arm: msm: smd: use either package v3 or v4 not bothDaniel Walker
This modifies SMD to use either the package v3 or package v4, but not both. The current code tries to allocate as v4 on all system which can produce a scary looking error message on boot up, smem_find(16, 40): wrong size 16424 smd_alloc_channel() cid=02 size=08192 'SMD_RPCCALL' With this error the code then falls back on the package v3 allocation method. This method is inefficient because it causes a slow down on some systems even when the allocation method can be determined at compile time. It also causes a kernel size increase that effects all system and is not needed. This change corrects the allocation to use one method or the other and not both. 2010-05-12[ARM] msm: shared memory interface for baseband processor ipcBrian Swetland
This code provides the low level interface to the "shared memory state machine" (smsm), and the virtual serial channels (smd), used to communicate with the baseband processor. Higher level transports (rpc, ethernet, AT command channel, etc) ride on top of this. Signed-off-by: Brian Swetland <swetland@google.com>
2010-05-03arm: msm: allow ARCH_MSM to have v7 cpusDaniel Walker
ARCH_MSM supports armv7 cpus, so we're pushed the CPU_V6/CPU_V7 selection down into the arch/arm/mach-msm/Kconfig. Also update the description to be a bit more accurate. Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2009-11-20msm: add minimal board file for HTC Dream devicePavel Machek
This is just enough to get the device booting and serial console working. Sufficient for debugging further MSM7k/Dream Support. This will support HTC Dream / T-Mobile G1 / Android ADP1 (which are all the same hardware, known as "trout" to the ARM machine database). 2009-11-20msm: make debugging UART (for DEBUG_LL) configurablePavel Machek
Provides options to select one of the three "lowspeed" UARTs on MSM7k SoCs for DEBUG_LL output from the zImage decompressor and kernel. Signed-off-by: Brian Swetland <swetland@google.com> Signed-off-by: Pavel Machek <pavel@ucw.cz> Signed-off-by: Daniel Walker <dwalker@codeaurora.org>
2008-10-22[ARM] msm: rename ARCH_MSM7X00A to ARCH_MSMBrian Swetland
The MSM architecture covers a wider family of chips than just the MSM7X00A. Move to a more generic name, in perparation for supporting the specific SoC variants as sub-architectures (ARCH_MSM7X01A, ARCH_MSM722X, etc). This gives us ARCH_MSM for the (many) common peripherals. This also removes the unused/obsolete config item MSM7X00A_IDLE. Signed-off-by: Brian Swetland <swetland@google.com>
2008-01-26[ARM] msm: board file for MACH_HALIBUT (QCT MSM7200A)Brian Swetland
Add support for the Qualcomm MSM7200A eval board. Common devices are defined in common.c, to avoid excessive cut'n'pasting them into other board files. Signed-off-by: Brian Swetland <swetland@google.com>
