2018-02-19ARM: davinci: move davinci_clk_init() to init_timeDavid Lechner
This moves the call of davinci_clk_init() from map_io to init_time for all boards. This is the proper place to init clocks. This is also done in preparation for moving to the common clock framework. dm646x is a special case because we need to handle different ref_clk rates depending on which board is being used. The clock init in this case is modified to set the rate before registering the clocks instead of using davinci_set_refclk_rate() to recalculate the entire clock tree after all of the clocks are registered. Also, the cpu_clks field is removed from struct davinci_soc_info since it is no longer needed. Signed-off-by: David Lechner <david@lechnology.com> Signed-off-by: Sekhar Nori <nsekhar@ti.com>
2018-02-19ARM: davinci: remove watchdog resetDavid Lechner
This removes the watchdog reset code. The reset has been moved to drivers/watchdog/davinci_wdt.c. The watchdog driver registers the reset with the kernel so defining a reset for each machine is no longer needed. 2018-02-19ARM: da8xx: use platform data for CFGCHIP syscon regmapDavid Lechner
This converts from using a platform device for the CFGCHIP syscon regmap to using platform data to pass the regmap to consumers. A lazy getter function is used so that the regmap will only be created if it is actually used. This function will also be used in the clock init when we convert to the common clock framework. The USB PHY driver is currently the only consumer. This driver is updated to use platform data to get the CFGCHIP regmap instead of syscon_regmap_lookup_by_pdevname(). 2017-12-23ARM: davinci: make argument to davinci_common_init() as constBhumika Goyal
Make the function argument of the function davinci_common_init as const as it's memory contents are only copied during a memcpy call. So, the fields of the structure to which the argument soc_info points to never gets modified and therefore the argument can be made const. Add const to the prototype too. 2016-11-01ARM: davinci: da8xx: add usb phy clocksDavid Lechner
Up to this point, the USB phy clock configuration was handled manually in the board files and in the usb drivers. This adds proper clocks so that the usb drivers can use clk_get and clk_enable and not have to worry about the details. Also, the related code is removed from the board files and replaced with the new clock registration functions. This also removes the #if IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_USB_MUSB_HDRC) around the musb declaration and renames the musb platform device so that we can reference it from the usb20 clock even if the musb device is not used. 2016-02-22ARM: 8532/1: uncompress: mark putc as inlineArnd Bergmann
When CONFIG_DEBUG_ICEDCC is set, we don't use the platform specific putc() function, but use icedcc_putc() instead, so putc is unused and causes a compile time warning: In file included from ../arch/arm/boot/compressed/misc.c:28:0: arch/arm/mach-rpc/include/mach/uncompress.h:79:13: warning: 'putc' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] arch/arm/mach-w90x900/include/mach/uncompress.h:30:13: warning: 'putc' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] On most platforms, this does not happen, because putc is defined as 'static inline' so the compiler will automatically drop it when it's unused. 2013-09-25ARM: davinci: gpio: use gpiolib API instead of inline functionsPhilip Avinash
Remove NEED_MACH_GPIO_H config select option for ARCH_DAVINCI to start using gpiolib interface for davinci platforms. This makes it easier to use the gpio driver on other platforms as it breaks dependency on mach-davinci. Latencies for gpio_get/set APIs will increase. On measurement, latency was found to have increased by 18 microsecond with gpiolib API as compared to inline APIs. Measurement was done on DA850 EVM for gpio_get_value() API by taking the printk timing across the call with interrupts disabled. inline gpio API with interrupt disabled [ 29.734337] before gpio_get [ 29.736847] after gpio_get Time difference 0.00251 gpio library with interrupt disabled [ 272.876763] before gpio_get [ 272.879291] after gpio_get Time difference 0.002528 Latency increased by (0.002528 - 0.00251) = 18 microsecond. 2013-09-24gpio: davinci: move to platform deviceKV Sujith
Modify DaVinci GPIO driver to become a platform device driver. The driver does not have platform driver structure or a probe. Instead, it has pure_initcall function for initialization. The platform specific informaiton is obtained using the DaVinci specific davinci_soc_info structure. This is a problem for Device Tree (DT) implementation. As a first stage of DT conversion, we implement a probe. Additional notes: - The driver registration happens as postcore_initcall. This is required since machine init functions like da850_lcd_hw_init() make use of GPIO. - Start using devres APIs for simpler error handling. 2013-02-09ARM: davinci: da850 DT: add support for machine rebootKumar, Anil
Update the da8xx_restart() function to support machine reboot when booting using DT. Have the function search for the watchdog platform device instead of always using "da8xx_wdt_device" which is never registered in DT case. While at it, also make da8xx_wdt_device static since there is no need for it to be globally visible. Tested machine reboot with both DT and non-DT boot on DA850 EVM. Samsung has some code setting up wdog in arch_decomp_wdog(). But since CONFIG_S3C_BOOT_WATCHDOG is defined nowhere, it will not run. 2013-01-22ARM: davinci: psc: introduce reset APIRobert Tivy
Introduce an IP reset API for use on DaVinci SoC. There is no existing "reset" framework support for SoC devices. The remoteproc driver needs explicit control of the DSP's reset line. To support this, a new DaVinci specific API is added. This private API will disappear with DT migration. Some discussion regarding a proposed DT "reset" binding is here: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1635051/ Modify davinci_clk_init() to set clk "reset" function for clocks that indicate PSC_LRST support. Also fix indentation issue with function opening curly brace. 2013-01-03ARM: davinci: da8xx_register_spi() should not register SPI board infoVivien Didelot
Without this patch, da8xx_register_spi() registers the SPI board info, the SPI controller, and sets its number of chipselect to the size of the static spi_board_info array. This is bad because a SPI board info may declare devices for different SPI buses, and because other code can also call spi_register_board_info() (e.g. a daughter board might provide additional SPI devices). This patch removes the spi_register_board_info() call from da8xx_register_spi(), renames this last one to da8xx_register_spi_bus() to be more explicit, takes the number of chipselect as a function parameter, and updates the impacted board-da8{3,5}0-evm.c, and board-mityomapl138.c files accordingly. It also sets the SPI platform data static, as it doesn't need to be exported. 2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. Pull ARM SoC updates from Olof Johansson: "This contains the bulk of new SoC development for this merge window. Two new platforms have been added, the sunxi platforms (Allwinner A1x SoCs) by Maxime Ripard, and a generic Broadcom platform for a new series of ARMv7 platforms from them, where the hope is that we can keep the platform code generic enough to have them all share one mach directory. The new Broadcom platform is contributed by Christian Daudt. Highbank has grown support for Calxeda's next generation of hardware, ECX-2000. clps711x has seen a lot of cleanup from Alexander Shiyan, and he's also taken on maintainership of the platform. Beyond this there has been a bunch of work from a number of people on converting more platforms to IRQ domains, pinctrl conversion, cleanup and general feature enablement across most of the active platforms."
