git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "We have a small collection of core framework updates this time, mostly around clk registration by clk providers and debugfs "nice to haves" for rate constraints. I'll highlight that we're now setting the clk_init_data pointer inside struct clk_hw to NULL during clk_register(), which may break some drivers that thought they could use that pointer during normal operations. That change has been sitting in next for a while now but maybe something is still broken. We'l see. Other than that the core framework changes aren't invasive and they're fixing bugs, simplifying, and making things better. On the clk driver side we got the usual addition of new SoC support, new features for existing drivers, and bug fixes scattered throughout. The biggest diffstat is the Amlogic driver that gained CPU clk support in addition to migrating to the new way of specifying clk parents. After that the Qualcomm, i.MX, Mediatek, and Rockchip clk drivers got support for various new SoCs and clock controllers from those vendors. Core: - Drop NULL checks in clk debugfs - Add min/max rates to clk debugfs - Set clk_init_data pointer inside clk_hw to NULL after registration - Make clk_bulk_get_all() return an 'id' corresponding to clock-names - Evict parents from parent cache when they're unregistered New Drivers: - Add clock driver for i.MX8MN SoCs - Support aspeed AST2600 SoCs - Support for Mediatek MT6779 SoCs - Support qcom SM8150 GCC and RPMh clks - Support qcom QCS404 WCSS clks - Add CPU clock support for Armada 7K/8K (specifically AP806 and AP807) - Addition of clock driver for Rockchip rk3308 SoCs Updates: - Add regulator support to the cdce925 clk driver - Add support for Raspberry Pi 4 bcm2711 SoCs - Add SDIO gate support to aspeed driver - Add missing of_node_put() calls in various clk drivers - Migrate Amlogic driver to new clock parent description method - Add DVFS support to Amlogic Meson g12 - Add Amlogic Meson g12a reset support to the axg audio clock controller - Add sm1 support to the Amlogic Meson g12a clock controller - Switch i.MX8MM clock driver to platform driver - Add Hifi4 DSP related clocks for i.MX8QXP SoC - Fix Audio PLL setting and parent clock for USB - Misc i.MX8 clock driver improvements and corrections - Set floor ops for Qualcomm SD clks so that rounding works - Fix "always-on" Clock Domains on Renesas R-Car M1A, RZ/A1, RZ/A2, and RZ/N1 - Enable the Allwinner V3 SoC and fix the i2s clock for H6" * tag 'clk-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux: (137 commits) clk: Drop !clk checks in debugfs dumping clk: imx: imx8mn: fix pll mux bit clk: imx: imx8mm: fix pll mux bit clk: imx: clk-pll14xx: unbypass PLL by default clk: imx: pll14xx: avoid glitch when set rate clk: mvebu: ap80x: add AP807 clock support clk: mvebu: ap806: Prepare the introduction of AP807 clock support clk: mvebu: ap806: add AP-DCLK (hclk) to system controller driver clk: mvebu: ap806: be more explicit on what SaR is clk: mvebu: ap80x-cpu: add AP807 CPU clock support clk: mvebu: ap806-cpu: prepare mapping of AP807 CPU clock dt-bindings: ap806: Document AP807 clock compatible dt-bindings: ap80x: Document AP807 CPU clock compatible clk: sprd: add missing kfree clk: at91: allow 24 Mhz clock as input for PLL clk: Make clk_bulk_get_all() return a valid "id" clk: actions: Fix factor clk struct member access clk: qcom: rcg: Return failure for RCG update clk: remove extra ---help--- tags in Kconfig clk: add include guard to clk-conf.h ...

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/powerpc/linux Pull powerpc updates from Michael Ellerman: "This is a bit late, partly due to me travelling, and partly due to a power outage knocking out some of my test systems *while* I was travelling. - Initial support for running on a system with an Ultravisor, which is software that runs below the hypervisor and protects guests against some attacks by the hypervisor. - Support for building the kernel to run as a "Secure Virtual Machine", ie. as a guest capable of running on a system with an Ultravisor. - Some changes to our DMA code on bare metal, to allow devices with medium sized DMA masks (> 32 && < 59 bits) to use more than 2GB of DMA space. - Support for firmware assisted crash dumps on bare metal (powernv). - Two series fixing bugs in and refactoring our PCI EEH code. - A large series refactoring our exception entry code to use gas macros, both to make it more readable and also enable some future optimisations. As well as many cleanups and other minor features & fixups. 2019-09-19dt-bindings: net: Correct the documentation of KSZ9021 skew valuesJames Byrne
The documentation of skew values for the KSZ9021 PHY was misleading because the driver implementation followed the erroneous information given in the original KSZ9021 datasheet before it was corrected in revision 1.2 (Feb 2014). It is probably too late to correct the driver now because of the many existing device trees, so instead this just corrects the documentation to explain that what you actually get is not what you might think when looking at the device tree. Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie: "This is the main pull request for 5.4-rc1 merge window. I don't think there is anything outstanding so next week should just be fixes, but we'll see if I missed anything. I landed some fixes earlier in the week but got delayed writing summary and sending it out, due to a mix of sick kid and jetlag! There are some fixes pending, but I'd rather get the main merge out of the way instead of delaying it longer. It's also pretty large in commit count and new amd header file size. The largest thing is four new amdgpu products (navi12/14, arcturus and renoir APU support). Otherwise it's pretty much lots of work across the board, i915 has started landing tigerlake support, lots of icelake fixes and lots of locking reworking for future gpu support, lots of header file rework (drmP.h is nearly gone), some old legacy hacks (DRM_WAIT_ON) have been put into the places they are needed. uapi: - content protection type property for HDCP core: - rework include dependencies - lots of drmP.h removals - link rate calculation robustness fix - make fb helper map only when required - add connector->DDC adapter link - DRM_WAIT_ON removed - drop DRM_AUTH usage from drivers dma-buf: - reservation object fence helper dma-fence: - shrink dma_fence struct - merge signal functions - store timestamps in dma_fence - selftests ttm: - embed drm_get_object struct into ttm_buffer_object - release_notify callback bridges: - sii902x - audio graph card support - tc358767 - aux data handling rework - ti-snd64dsi86 - debugfs support, DSI mode flags support panels: - Support for GiantPlus GPM940B0, Sharp LQ070Y3DG3B, Ortustech COM37H3M, Novatek NT39016, Sharp LS020B1DD01D, Raydium RM67191, Boe Himax8279d, Sharp LD-D5116Z01B - TI nspire, NEC NL8048HL11, LG Philips LB035Q02, Sharp LS037V7DW01, Sony ACX565AKM, Toppoly TD028TTEC1 Toppoly TD043MTEA1 i915: - Initial tigerlake platform support - Locking simplification work, general all over refactoring. - Selftests - HDCP debug info improvements - DSI properties - Icelake display PLL fixes, colorspace fixes, bandwidth fixes, DSI suspend/resume - GuC fixes - Perf fixes - ElkhartLake enablement - DP MST fixes - GVT - command parser enhancements amdgpu: - add wipe memory on release flag for buffer creation - Navi12/14 support (may be marked experimental) - Arcturus support - Renoir APU support - mclk DPM for Navi - DC display fixes - Raven scatter/gather support - RAS support for GFX - Navi12 + Arcturus power features - GPU reset for Picasso - smu11 i2c controller support amdkfd: - navi12/14 support - Arcturus support radeon: - kexec fix nouveau: - improved display color management - detect lack of GPU power cables vmwgfx: - evicition priority support - remove unused security feature msm: - msm8998 display support - better async commit support for cursor updates etnaviv: - per-process address space support - performance counter fixes - softpin support mcde: - DCS transfers fix exynos: - drmP.h cleanup lima: - reduce logging kirin: - misc clenaups komeda: - dual-link support - DT memory regions hisilicon: - misc fixes imx: - IPUv3 image converter fixes - 32-bit RGB V4L2 pixel format support ingenic: - more support for panel related cases mgag200: - cursor support fix panfrost: - export GPU features register to userspace - gpu heap allocations - per-fd address space support pl111: - CLD pads wiring support removed from DT rockchip: - rework to use DRM PSR helpers - fix bug in VOP_WIN_GET macro - DSI DT binding rework sun4i: - improve support for color encoding and range - DDC enabled GPIO tinydrm: - rework SPI support - improve MIPI-DBI support - moved to drm/tiny vkms: - rework CRC tracking dw-hdmi: - get_eld and i2s improvements gm12u320: - misc fixes meson: - global code cleanup - vpu feature detect omap: - alpha/pixel blend mode properties rcar-du: - misc fixes" * tag 'drm-next-2019-09-18' of git://anongit.freedesktop.org/drm/drm: (2112 commits) drm/nouveau/bar/gm20b: Avoid BAR1 teardown during init drm/nouveau: Fix ordering between TTM and GEM release drm/nouveau/prime: Extend DMA reservation object lock drm/nouveau: Fix fallout from reservation object rework drm/nouveau/kms/nv50-: Don't create MSTMs for eDP connectors drm/i915: Use NOEVICT for first pass on attemping to pin a GGTT mmap drm/i915: to make vgpu ppgtt notificaiton as atomic operation drm/i915: Flush the existing fence before GGTT read/write drm/i915: Hold irq-off for the entire fake lock period drm/i915/gvt: update RING_START reg of vGPU when the context is submitted to i915 drm/i915/gvt: update vgpu workload head pointer correctly drm/mcde: Fix DSI transfers drm/msm: Use the correct dma_sync calls harder drm/msm: remove unlikely() from WARN_ON() conditions drm/msm/dsi: Fix return value check for clk_get_parent drm/msm: add atomic traces drm/msm/dpu: async commit support drm/msm: async commit support drm/msm: split power control from prepare/complete_commit drm/msm: add kms->flush_commit() ...

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/fs/fscrypt/fscrypt Pull fs-verity support from Eric Biggers: "fs-verity is a filesystem feature that provides Merkle tree based hashing (similar to dm-verity) for individual readonly files, mainly for the purpose of efficient authenticity verification. This pull request includes: (a) The fs/verity/ support layer and documentation. (b) fs-verity support for ext4 and f2fs. Compared to the original fs-verity patchset from last year, the UAPI to enable fs-verity on a file has been greatly simplified. Lots of other things were cleaned up too. fs-verity is planned to be used by two different projects on Android; most of the userspace code is in place already. Another userspace tool ("fsverity-utils"), and xfstests, are also available. e2fsprogs and f2fs-tools already have fs-verity support. Other people have shown interest in using fs-verity too. I've tested this on ext4 and f2fs with xfstests, both the existing tests and the new fs-verity tests. This has also been in linux-next since July 30 with no reported issues except a couple minor ones I found myself and folded in fixes for. Pull fscrypt updates from Eric Biggers: "This is a large update to fs/crypto/ which includes: - Add ioctls that add/remove encryption keys to/from a filesystem-level keyring. These fix user-reported issues where e.g. an encrypted home directory can break NetworkManager, sshd, Docker, etc. because they don't get access to the needed keyring. These ioctls also provide a way to lock encrypted directories that doesn't use the vm.drop_caches sysctl, so is faster, more reliable, and doesn't always need root. - Add a new encryption policy version ("v2") which switches to a more standard, secure, and flexible key derivation function, and starts verifying that the correct key was supplied before using it. The key derivation improvement is needed for its own sake as well as for ongoing feature work for which the current way is too inflexible. Work is in progress to update both Android and the 'fscrypt' userspace tool to use both these features. (Working patches are available and just need to be reviewed+merged.) Chrome OS will likely use them too. This has also been tested on ext4, f2fs, and ubifs with xfstests -- both the existing encryption tests, and the new tests for this. This has also been in linux-next since Aug 16 with no reported issues. 2019-09-18Merge tag 'driver-core-5.4-rc1' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core Pull driver core updates from Greg Kroah-Hartman: "Here is the big driver core update for 5.4-rc1. There was a bit of a churn in here, with a number of core and OF platform patches being added to the tree, and then after much discussion and review and a day-long in-person meeting, they were decided to be reverted and a new set of patches is currently being reviewed on the mailing list. Other than that churn, there are two "persistent" branches in here that other trees will be pulling in as well during the merge window. One branch to add support for drivers to have the driver core automatically add sysfs attribute files when a driver is bound to a device so that the driver doesn't have to manually do it (and then clean it up, as it always gets it wrong). There's another branch in here for generic lookup helpers for the driver core that lots of busses are starting to use. That's the majority of the non-driver-core changes in this patch series. Besides that there are many changes scattered among various LED class drivers and triggers. LED naming related improvements: - add new 'function' and 'color' fwnode properties and deprecate 'label' property which has been frequently abused for conveying vendor specific names that have been available in sysfs anyway - introduce a set of standard LED_FUNCTION* definitions - introduce a set of standard LED_COLOR_ID* definitions - add a new {devm_}led_classdev_register_ext() API with the capability of automatic LED name composition basing on the properties available in the passed fwnode; the function is backwards compatible in a sense that it uses 'label' data, if present in the fwnode, for creating LED name - add tools/leds/get_led_device_info.sh script for retrieving LED vendor, product and bus names, if applicable; it also performs basic validation of an LED name - update following drivers and their DT bindings to use the new LED registration API: - leds-an30259a, leds-gpio, leds-as3645a, leds-aat1290, leds-cr0014114, leds-lm3601x, leds-lm3692x, leds-lp8860, leds-lt3593, leds-sc27xx-blt Other LED class improvements: - replace {devm_}led_classdev_register() macros with inlines - allow to call led_classdev_unregister() unconditionally - switch to use fwnode instead of be stuck with OF one LED triggers improvements: - led-triggers: - fix dereferencing of null pointer - fix a memory leak bug - ledtrig-gpio: - GPIO 0 is valid Drop superseeded apu2/3 support from leds-apu since for apu2+ a newer, more complete driver exists, based on a generic driver for the AMD SOCs gpio-controller, supporting LEDs as well other devices: - drop profile field from priv data - drop iosize field from priv data - drop enum_apu_led_platform_types - drop superseeded apu2/3 led support - add pr_fmt prefix for better log output - fix error message on probing failure Other misc fixes and improvements to existing LED class drivers: - leds-ns2, leds-max77650: - add of_node_put() before return - leds-pwm, leds-is31fl32xx: - use struct_size() helper - leds-lm3697, leds-lm36274, leds-lm3532: - switch to use fwnode_property_count_uXX() - leds-lm3532: - fix brightness control for i2c mode - change the define for the fs current register - fixes for the driver for stability - add full scale current configuration - dt: Add property for full scale current. - avoid potentially unpaired regulator calls - move static keyword to the front of declarations - fix optional led-max-microamp prop error handling - leds-max77650: - add of_node_put() before return - add MODULE_ALIAS() - Switch to fwnode property API - leds-as3645a: - fix misuse of strlcpy - leds-netxbig: - add of_node_put() in netxbig_leds_get_of_pdata() - remove legacy board-file support - leds-is31fl319x: - simplify getting the adapter of a client - leds-ti-lmu-common: - fix coccinelle issue - move static keyword to the front of declaration - leds-syscon: - use resource managed variant of device register - leds-ktd2692: - fix a typo in the name of a constant - leds-lp5562: - allow firmware files up to the maximum length - leds-an30259a: - fix typo - leds-pca953x: - include the right header" * tag 'leds-for-5.4-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/j.anaszewski/linux-leds: (72 commits) leds: lm3532: Fix optional led-max-microamp prop error handling led: triggers: Fix dereferencing of null pointer leds: ti-lmu-common: Move static keyword to the front of declaration leds: lm3532: Move static keyword to the front of declarations leds: trigger: gpio: GPIO 0 is valid leds: pwm: Use struct_size() helper leds: is31fl32xx: Use struct_size() helper leds: ti-lmu-common: Fix coccinelle issue in TI LMU leds: lm3532: Avoid potentially unpaired regulator calls leds: syscon: Use resource managed variant of device register leds: Replace {devm_}led_classdev_register() macros with inlines leds: Allow to call led_classdev_unregister() unconditionally leds: lm3532: Add full scale current configuration dt: lm3532: Add property for full scale current. leds: lm3532: Fixes for the driver for stability leds: lm3532: Change the define for the fs current register leds: lm3532: Fix brightness control for i2c mode leds: Switch to use fwnode instead of be stuck with OF one leds: max77650: Switch to fwnode property API led: triggers: Fix a memory leak bug ...

An update to the bogus permission checks will come later during the merge window as feedback was not complete before heading of for travel. - Switch the timerqueue code to use cached rbtrees and get rid of the homebrewn caching of the leftmost node. - Consolidate hrtimer_init() + hrtimer_init_sleeper() calls into a single function - Implement the separation of hrtimers to be forced to expire in hard interrupt context even when PREEMPT_RT is enabled and mark the affected timers accordingly. - Implement a mechanism for hrtimers and the timer wheel to protect RT against priority inversion and live lock issues when a (hr)timer which should be canceled is currently executing the callback. Instead of infinitely spinning, the task which tries to cancel the timer blocks on a per cpu base expiry lock which is held and released by the (hr)timer expiry code. - Enable the Hyper-V TSC page based sched_clock for Hyper-V guests resulting in faster access to timekeeping functions. - Updates to various clocksource/clockevent drivers and their device tree bindings. - The usual small improvements all over the place" * 'timers-core-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip: (101 commits) posix-cpu-timers: Fix permission check regression posix-cpu-timers: Always clear head pointer on dequeue hrtimer: Add a missing bracket and hide `migration_base' on !SMP posix-cpu-timers: Make expiry_active check actually work correctly posix-timers: Unbreak CONFIG_POSIX_TIMERS=n build tick: Mark sched_timer to expire in hard interrupt context hrtimer: Add kernel doc annotation for HRTIMER_MODE_HARD x86/hyperv: Hide pv_ops access for CONFIG_PARAVIRT=n posix-cpu-timers: Utilize timerqueue for storage posix-cpu-timers: Move state tracking to struct posix_cputimers posix-cpu-timers: Deduplicate rlimit handling posix-cpu-timers: Remove pointless comparisons posix-cpu-timers: Get rid of 64bit divisions posix-cpu-timers: Consolidate timer expiry further posix-cpu-timers: Get rid of zero checks rlimit: Rewrite non-sensical RLIMIT_CPU comment posix-cpu-timers: Respect INFINITY for hard RTTIME limit posix-cpu-timers: Switch thread group sampling to array posix-cpu-timers: Restructure expiry array posix-cpu-timers: Remove cputime_expires ...
