2016-09-26ASoC: tlv320aic31xx: add explicit support for tlv320dac31xxNikita Yushchenko
tlv320dac31xx is a subset of tlv320aic31xx: - it does not have MIC inputs and ADC, thus capture is not supported, - it has analog inputs AIN1/AIN2 that can be mixed into output. Although tlv320dac31xx does work with tlv320aic31xx driver, this setup does register non-existent widgets and non-existent capture stream. Thus userspace lists non-existent objects in user interfaces, an can access these, causing operations with device registers that are declared as "reserved" in tlv320dac31xx datasheet. This patch fixes this situation by separating controls/widgets/routes into common, aic31xx-specific, and dac31xx-specific parts. Only parts that match actual hardware (as declared in "compatible" device tree property) are registered. Changes from v1: - update device tree binding documentation, - rebased on top of "ASoC: codec duplicated callback function goes to component on tlv320aic31xx" commit. rsrc-card which is using DPCM feature was created for Renesas sound. But not only Renesas, but many SoC can use this driver, because it is based on simple-card driver. To use it as more open driver, rsrc-card will be renamed to simple-scu-card. In order to easy patch review, as 3rd step, this patch moves rsrc-card driver to generic folder. 2016-08-24ASoC: rsrc-card: rename rsrc-card to simple-scu-card phase2Kuninori Morimoto
rsrc-card which is using DPCM feature was created for Renesas sound. But not only Renesas, but many SoC can use this driver, because it is based on simple-card driver. To use it as more open driver, rsrc-card will be renamed to simple-scu-card. In order to easy patch review, as 2nd step, this patch adds new compatible "simple-scu-audio-card"; rcar-card used specific property, not "simple-audio-card", but it should be now. Actually, rsrc-card is upstreamed driver, but noone is using it on upstream. The user is only local, and it is only me. Thus, there is no compatible break by this patch. This patch uses "simple-audio-card" prefix. And it removes rcar-card specifix compatible too. 2016-08-24ASoC: rsrc-card: remove board specific compatibleKuninori Morimoto
rsrc-card has board specific compatible (= lager/koelsh), but these were created as 1st prototype, and it is used in my test environment only. Now normal user can use generic compatible (= renesas,rsrc-card). Removing these board specific compatible doesn't breake compatibility. This patch remove these. 2016-06-15ASoC: adau17x1: Add support for specifying the MCLK using the CCFLars-Peter Clausen
The devices from the ADAU17X1 family all have a MCLK clock input which supplies the master clock for the device. The master clock is used as the input clock for the PLL. Currently the MCLK rate as well as the desired PLL output frequency need to be supplied by calling snd_soc_dai_set_pll() form a machine driver. Add support for specifying the MCLK using the common clock framework. In addition to that also automatically configure the PLL to a suitable rate if the master clock was provided using the CCW. This allows to use the CODEC driver without any special configuration requirements from the machine driver. While the PLL output frequency can be configured over a (more or less) continuous range the narrowness of the range and the other constraints of the clocking tree usually only result in two output frequencies that will actually be chosen. One for 44.1kHz based rates and one for 48kHz based rates, these are the rates that the automatic PLL configuration will use. For the rare case where a non-standard setup is required a machine driver can disable the auto-configuration and configure a custom frequency using the existing mechanisms. If the common clock framework is not enabled clk_get() will return NULL and the driver will function as before and the clock rate needs to be configured manually.
