2016-09-21rtc: omap: Support ext_wakeup configurationMarcin Niestroj
Support configuration of ext_wakeup sources. This patch makes it possible to enable ext_wakeup and set it's polarity, depending on board configuration. AM335x's dedicated PMIC (tps65217) uses ext_wakeup to notify about power-button presses. Handling power-button presses enables to recover from RTC-only power states correctly. 2016-08-31rtc: ds1390: Fix the SPI chip select numberFabio Estevam
The number after the '@' symbol should be the SPI chip select number associated with the ds1390 and it should match the 'reg' field. So change it the address to zero, to make it consistent. 2015-04-17rtc: stmp3xxx: use optional crystal in low power statesUwe Kleine-König
The rtc's status register allows to determine if a 32k crystal is connected to keep the rtc running in low power states provided the corresponding fuse bits were blown correctly during production. (In case they were not, the right frequency can be stated in the device tree.) If there is no such crystal available force the 24 MHz XTAL clock to keep running to retain the right date and time. Otherwise use the crystal to save some power. It would be nice to only switch to the crystal when the XTAL clock is about to be disabled and keep the crystal off when unneeded because XTAL is always on while the chip is powered on. But as sudden power loss isn't detectable this is not save. 2015-02-13rtc: rtc-isl12057: add isil,irq2-can-wakeup-machine property for in-tree usersArnaud Ebalard
Current in-tree users of ISL12057 RTC chip (NETGEAR ReadyNAS 102, 104 and 2120) do not have the IRQ#2 pin of the chip (associated w/ the Alarm1 mechanism) connected to their SoC, but to a PMIC (TPS65251 FWIW). This specific hardware configuration allows the NAS to wake up when the alarms rings. Recently introduced alarm support for ISL12057 relies on the provision of an "interrupts" property in system .dts file, which previous three users will never get. For that reason, alarm support on those devices is not function. To support this use case, this patch adds a new DT property for ISL12057 (isil,irq2-can-wakeup-machine) to indicate that the chip is capable of waking up the device using its IRQ#2 pin (even though it does not have its IRQ#2 pin connected directly to the SoC). This specific configuration was tested on a ReadyNAS 102 by setting an alarm, powering off the device and see it reboot as expected when the alarm rang w/: # echo `date '+%s' -d '+ 1 minutes'` > /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm # shutdown -h now As a side note, the ISL12057 remains in the list of trivial devices, because the property is not per se required by the device to work but can help handle system w/ specific requirements. In exchange, the new feature is described in details in a specific documentation file. 2015-02-03Documentation: DT bindings: add more Tegra chip compatible stringsPaul Walmsley
Align compatible strings for several IP blocks present on Tegra chips with the latest doctrine from the DT maintainers: http://marc.info/?l=devicetree&m=142255654213019&w=2 The primary objective here is to avoid checkpatch warnings, per: http://marc.info/?l=linux-tegra&m=142201349727836&w=2 DT binding text files have been updated for the following IP blocks: - PCIe - SOR - SoC timers - AHB "gizmo" - APB_MISC - pinmux control - UART - PWM - I2C - SPI - RTC - PMC - eFuse - AHCI - HDA - XUSB_PADCTRL - SDHCI - SOC_THERM - AHUB - I2S - EHCI - USB PHY N.B. The nvidia,tegra20-timer compatible string is removed from the nvidia,tegra30-timer.txt documentation file because it's already mentioned in the nvidia,tegra20-timer.txt documentation file. This second version takes into account the following requests from Rob Herring <robherring2@gmail.com>: - Per-IP block patches have been combined into a single patch - Explicit documentation about which compatible strings are actually matched by the driver has been removed. In its place is implicit documentation that loosely follows Rob's prescribed format: "Must contain '"nvidia,<chip>-pcie", "nvidia,tegra20-pcie"' where <chip> is tegra30, tegra132, ..."
