2012-11-21clk: make ICST driver handle the VCO registersLinus Walleij
It turns out that all platforms using the ICST VCO are really just touching two registers, and in the same way as well: one register with the VCO configuration as such, and one lock register that makes it possible to write to the VCO. Factor this register read/write into the ICST driver so we can reuse it in the IM-PD1 driver. 2012-11-09mfd: db8500: Connect ARMSS clk to ARM OPPUlf Hansson
ARMSS clk directly maps it's frequency towards the cpufreq table. To be able to update the ARMSS clk rate, a new set_rate function for the ARMSS clk is added, which also will trigger a corresponding ARM OPP request. Additionally an ARMSS clk round_rate function is added to fetch valid cpufreq frequencies. 2012-11-09cpufreq: db8500: Fetch cpufreq table from platform dataUlf Hansson
By fetching the table as platform data we do not need the internally hardcoded cpufreq table anymore. Moreover the corresponding arm_opp idx2opp table, used for mapping frequency to correct opp bits is also removed. This due to that the opp bits is put directly in the index field of the cpufreq table. 2012-10-29clk: Don't return negative numbers for unsigned values with !clkStephen Boyd
Some of the helper functions return negative error codes if passed a NULL clock. This can lead to confusing behavior when the expected return value is unsigned. Fix up these accessors so that they return unsigned values (or bool in the case of is_enabled). This way we can't interpret NULL clocks as having valid and interesting values. Functions generic_file_splice_read and generic_file_splice_write access the pagecache directly. For block devices these functions must be locked so that block size is not changed while they are in progress. This patch is an additional fix for commit b87570f5d349 ("Fix a crash when block device is read and block size is changed at the same time") that locked aio_read, aio_write and mmap against block size change. 2012-10-28percpu-rw-semaphores: use rcu_read_lock_schedMikulas Patocka
Use rcu_read_lock_sched / rcu_read_unlock_sched / synchronize_sched instead of rcu_read_lock / rcu_read_unlock / synchronize_rcu. This is an optimization. The RCU-protected region is very small, so there will be no latency problems if we disable preempt in this region. So we use rcu_read_lock_sched / rcu_read_unlock_sched that translates to preempt_disable / preempt_disable. It is smaller (and supposedly faster) than preemptible rcu_read_lock / rcu_read_unlock. This patch introduces new barrier pair light_mb() and heavy_mb() for percpu rw semaphores. This patch fixes a bug in percpu-rw-semaphores where a barrier was missing in percpu_up_write. This patch improves performance on the read path of percpu-rw-semaphores: on non-x86 cpus, there was a smp_mb() in percpu_up_read. This patch changes it to a compiler barrier and removes the "#if defined(X86) ..." condition. 2012-10-27ARM: versatile: fix versatile_defconfigArnd Bergmann
With the introduction of CONFIG_ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, versatile is no longer the default platform, so we need to enable CONFIG_ARCH_VERSATILE explicitly in order for that to be selected rather than the multiplatform configuration. Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
